Story
GUST AND HIS BEST FRIENDS PLAN TO BE AT A MEET AND GREET SUNDAY DECEMBER 7 12:30 -2:30 AT PET EVOLUTION ON 1074 GRAND IN ST. PAUL. COME AND CUDDLE AND MAYBE GO HOME WITH A FRIEND FOR THE HOLIDAYS. Gust and his siblings were surrendered to PUP because the owner, who lived in a remote area, could not afford the pups and felt she could not find suitable adopters. The mommy dog is a much loved 30# ‘low rider’ with short legs (pictured). A partner organization agreed to pay for her to be spayed if PUP found homes for the puppies. The owner did a good job of socializing the pups and they arrived in good health. They are well socialized, playful and are enjoying the good life. Gust looks like he is going to be a bit taller than some of his siblings and we expect he will be a mid-sized dog when he is full grown. We did DNA testing on Gust but the results won’t be in until mid December. Dogs from the area who have DNA testing often have 20 or more breeds and nearly always have some shepherd, husky, cattle dog, and even the largest pooches have a bit of Chihuahua. We strongly suspect Gust has some Doxi and maybe some cattle dog in this mix. (Rumor has it that there is a male cattle dog on a neighboring ranch.) The early months are when puppy learns the social skills needed to be a skilled dog in dealing with other dogs and a good citizen in the human world. Adopters should be committed to getting puppy into lots of new and different human social situations, hearing vacuums, trucks, and rattling garbage cans, meeting people who are clapping, laughing, with hats, tools, bikes and skate boards. AND puppy needs many opportunities to meet and greet dogs of all shapes, sizes and dispositions. Just sharing a home with another dog is not as much doggie socializing as puppy needs. If good canine social skills are not learned and maintained during these early months, it will be very difficult to ever master them. Puppy play dates, trips to the pet store, puppy socialization classes and later, obedience classes are particularly important. If all this doggie time and involvement seems like a good idea, you are up for a puppy! As always, a tired dog is a good dog. Puppy has been vet checked, (he weighed 7.6# on 12-1) vaccinated and de-wormed. He will need two additional puppy vaccinations plus rabies at the adopter’s expense. We do place puppies outside the metro area if a firm plan for the alter surgery is in place; we do not ship. His required alter surgery is covered by the adoption fee if it is done at 6 months at the PUP clinic. We require that he be altered at 6 months. If you are at least 21 years old and everyone in your household is on board with adopting a puppy, CALL 651-645-4370 between 7:00 am and 9:30 pm and we will return your call within 24 hours. We are pretty slow at responding to e-mail. Renters must provide proof that you are allowed to have a puppy. If you currently have a companion dog or cat please be prepared to provide a vet reference prior to adoption if requested.

Story
*Nosh’s adoption fee has been sponsored thanks to a generous donor*Hello, I’m Nosh! I am a 2 ½ year old lady looking for the perfect sanctuary to call my very own. I am housetrained and ready to settle into a cozy and quiet home. I am not particularly fond of kids, men or my kennel. When my foster mom is away from the house I calmly rest on the couch until she arrives back home. I am always so excited to see her when they come home! I will thrive with a patient and understanding adopter who will give me the time and space to adjust to my new surroundings. New things are very scary to me! But once I get settled in, I am very loyal and I promise to snuggle with you often! I will need a home that has a fenced in yard as I don’t like to do my business when people are too close to me. I enjoy going for walks in quiet places. My foster mom usually takes me for a stroll through our neighborhood but she makes sure we keep our distance from others. If you’re looking for a loyal and loving companion who appreciates a peaceful life, I might just be your girl! --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $0To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
DOB 7.25.25 Kelpie/Chihuahua mix Kennel trained Dog friendly (submissive) Vaccinated, microchipped, neutered Weight: about 20 pounds Engaging and people friendly Meet Marlon Brandog — the charming older puppy with a heart of gold. This handsome boy is friendly, goofy, and endlessly affectionate. He greets people with wagging tail and bright eyes, loves cuddles, and is happiest when included in family activities. He's a smaller breed (he's kind of a mystery) and is relatively quiet. Marlon is dog-friendly and sociable — he enjoys playtime and makes fast friends with other pups. Calm enough for relaxed evenings but playful enough for walks and games, he’s an easygoing companion for many home types. He responds well to gentle, consistent guidance and kindness.. Ideal home: someone who wants a loyal, affectionate dog with puppy energy tempered by a sensible, older-puppy temperament. Great with other dogs, ready to join family outings, and eager to give and receive love. Interested in meeting Marlon Brandog? Come say hello — he’s ready to steal your heart. He loves to stretch his legs with a good run or yard zoomies, then happily settle in your lap for snuggles. Scout is selective with unfamiliar dogs and not a dog park candidate. With structure and thoughtful an slow introductions, he can do great. At home, he’s easygoing and loving, but he’d do best in a child-free home where he can feel relaxed. He’s had training in the past and thrives with routine, exercise, and space to run. Goofy, loyal, and endlessly special—Scout is ready for the right family to love him just as he is.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxGracie (aka Graceland) is the sweetest dog! She was a pregnant stray in Mississippi when a rescue took her in, and she also had heartworm. Once she made it to MN, her puppies went to their own foster homes and luckily, Gracie came to my home. She completed heartworm treatment and as of July ’25, she is officially heartworm free! After completing her heartworm treatment, Gracie was spayed and during the surgery, the Vet found a BB which was removed, but an x-ray showed she has four more BBs in her. Even though she’s had a tough life, she’s still the happiest and sweetest girl!   She’s a Red Heeler, Basenji, and maybe a little bit of something else. She has the cutest howl, and her tail is Beagle-ish so she might have a little hound in her. She’s the perfect size at 44 lbs and she’s the perfect amount of active and cuddly. She LOVES to go for walks and car rides. She’s always up to go anywhere and everywhere. We go for a mile walk AM and PM and she spends most of the day outside chasing squirrels and anything else that dares to set foot in her territory. Once or twice a week we’ll go on a 3-5 mile hike and she loves being out in nature and sniffing everything. If it’s sunny and 50-85 degrees, she wants to be outside. Although she’s fast, squirrels still elude her, but she has caught a few bunnies, and even a few mice. She loves to run in the yard and she’s an explorer so she would do best with a fenced in yard. She loves to be around people and loves to get attention. She drapes herself over me in the morning to get her snuggle battery recharged and she likes to cozy up on the couch to end the night. If she’s inside during the day, she likes to look out the window, chew on bones, and nap. She is not a fan of the crate so she is free to roam the house when left alone and has never caused any trouble.   She is not a fan of other dogs so she should be the only dog in the house, and she hasn’t met any cats, but with her love of chasing anything small and furry I think it would be best to go to a cat-free home. She does ok being near dogs if they ignore her and don’t get in her space, but if dogs look at her wrong or mouth off to her, she is not afraid to tell them what she thinks. She’s pretty quick to pick things up, and although she’s already well behaved, she would do amazing with training. She’s met people of all ages and does well with everyone. She does have the Cattle dog tendency to get mouthy or nippy when playing, especially when playing outside.   Everyone who has met Gracie has fallen in love with her and tells her how pretty and well behaved she is. She’s active, but not too active. She’s cuddly and loves people but can also be independent. She’s sassy, but also the sweetest dog. She’s such a good girl and whoever adopts her is going to have such a special new best friend!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters.
