Story
For a little dude he’s got a lot of spunk. He’s not afraid to back down but he doesn’t look for fights; he can hold his own. I think he would be great with other dogs, cats and kids and he is good for finding the newspaper for doing his business. He is also good on his own and playing on his own; he will find a toy and play on his own. He doesn’t need to always be given attention. He has a bit more energy and will need lots of walks. He loves being held and I think he’s going to be a well-rounded dog. He’s pretty smart. He loves to lick and give kisses and loves snuggles and will sit there and stare at you when you’re holding him and then he wants to go and run around. Kyan is estimated to be 10 weeks old and 8 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Angus is a sweet Heeler mix male @  5 years old and about 49 lbs. He is an owner surrender and needs a foster and/or adoptive home. Angus is best as an only dog.  Notes from previous owners:  Good behaviors:   Angus is housebroken. He has only gone in the house one time in the 4 years that we have owned him, and that was when he was sick.    Angus rarely barks, only occasionally at larger trucks in the neighborhood. i. e. UPS or Fedex. He will bark at doorbells, but stops when commanded.    Angus is kennel trained and will go lay in his kennel when commanded.   Angus knows most basic commands, i. e. sit, down, shake, stay and come.   Angus is a great travel companion. We have taken him on lots of car rides. He will curl up and take a nap when the car is moving. He's so quiet that we've forgotten he's in the vehicle before.   Angus loves the water and loves swimming.    Angus enjoys and is fine at dog parks. The only things to watch out for are; not having him on leash, and that his owners don't interact with other dogs. Either of these will cause an aggressive reaction from Angus. This reaction is in the form of barred teeth, charging and snarling. No bits however and it is over as soon as his owners are away from the other dog. Katy and I would just walk around the outer boundary of the dog park and Gus would run and interact with other dogs playfully while staying within a 50 foot radius of Katy and I. Angus is very loyal and never strays far from his people. Whether it's the dog park or on a trail.    Angus is a snuggler. Our evenings at home usually consisted of Angus asleep in one of our laps. Belly up and feet in the air.    Bad behaviors and incidents:   Angus bit our 6 month old (2/19/2024). Skin was not broken. Only a small mark, which was gone by the morning. This was unprovoked, and was a jealous reaction from the 6 month old and Katy interacting on the floor.    Angus bit my 3 year old niece (Spring 2021). This was a result of my niece ignoring warnings, as well as, being in close proximity and having food, around Katy.    Angus is not good with cats and small dogs. When in the presence of either, we will bark and chase. He's never caught up to the cats that he's been around but it's usually a scene.    Angus is not good with small children, but not outwardly aggressive towards them. He only has a problem when the children are near his owners and he gets jealous/reactive. Before our incident, we would have our 4-6 month old on the floor playing alone with Angus in the room as well. He would occasionally sniff our son, but mostly just ignored him.    Angus would be considered Leash reactive. He shows aggression and anxiety while on a leash around other dogs and strangers. However, he has come a long way with our training. We go on at least 3 walks a day everyday, and has gone on walks with lots of different friends and family without issue. When crossing paths with other dogs and people, we just go off to one side of the trail and there aren't any problems . Story
Hi I’m Rosalee, I am 6 years old and came from a rough situation. I’m still learning how to be a dog and things are really scary but I’m doing my best. I am food/treat motivated. I am also extremely smart being a mini aussie. I definitely need another dog in the home to help me learn how to be a dog. I am doing well potty training and will go outside but am super scared being on a leash and will need time to learn the leash thing. A fenced in yard for me would be best. I like to get zoomies and play but only if you aren’t watching me. I sleep through the night in my kennel or puppy pen and so just fine. I graze on my food throughout the day. I am still very scared of people but my foster mom is teaching me everyday that people are okay.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $850.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 2, 2024, 5:36 pm

Story
Meet Domino! If you're ready to meet your new best friend and add a sprinkle of puppy spice to your life, this one is ready to wriggle his way into your arms and heart... Look no further than Domino! Introducing the most adorable Cattle Dog mix in the pack, born approx. 12/6/23, he has a playful spirit, loves to cuddle and always wants to be with his people!  He loves  exploring and is always  up for a squeaky toy or some tug-of-war. He's also a huge fan of snack time and belly rubs from his favorite humans!  As with any youngster, he's still learning the ropes of being the best canine citizen he can be. Potty training is a work in progress (he knows how to use a potty pad!), and he's eager to learn more with someone who delights in training. He's doing well with kennel training and sleeping quietly through the night. He may be small for now, but he packs a ton of heart and loyalty. He's looking for a forever home that offers abundant love, a dash of patience, and a whole lot of fun! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
