I'm an intelligent little furball looking for a loving family and a forever home. I learn really quickly and I've mastered the basics, including getting used to a leash, a kennel, and being housebroken. I'm a real fan of playing with my furry pals, frolicking in water, and indulging in delectable treats. I'm quite a social nugget with a love for being with my hooman— whether it's an exciting adventure, a refreshing hike, a quiet day by the river, or simply unwinding with the fam. I dream of a spacious backyard where I can zip around to my heart's content when the zoomies strike. Be warned: my irresistible puppy eyes and charming smile are sure to make you fall head over heels in no time. Let's become best buddies! Sullivan is around 8 months old and weighs about 32lbs. He is a Kelpie/German Shepherd Mix (our best guess). Sullivan is dog and cat friendly. He is updated on all his vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. He is currently on flea and heartworm preventative.

My name is Moana and I am an owner surrender. This special needs beautiful little girl has made wonderful strides in the 2 months that I've had her. She's getting stronger bit by bit. She is personality plus! She loves to snuggle, loves to play and just gets sooo very excited when you talk to her, get down on the floor to play with her and if the big resident dogs are even just near her. She has a feisty side, too, and does not like to be left out of anything!! She is making great progress in potty training and she'll usually vocally alert you-day or night- when she has to go...but know that she'll still have some accidents. At this point, she doesn't have the coordination to be upright to eat on her own so I still hold her securely in my lap to feed her several small meals a day and also to keep her hydrated (I soak her kibble and still give her some soft food. She will not drink straight water so we are still working on that and by soaking her kibble, it flavors the water and she'll drink it to get to the kibble.) She loves all people and dogs. She hasn't had contact with cats yet that I know of. She'll need flat, safe surfaces when she's in her wheels. She does best on carpets or rugs or grass when upright in her harness to practice balance, strength and walking. She'll need to continue strengthening her muscles and working on her balance. At this point, she cannot get up from the floor on her own. Once she's on her side, she can only move around by scratching/shuffling. She does great for car rides. She sleeps nicely in her soft sided kennel at night, only alerting me by whimpering once or twice per night that she has to go out to potty. She is one of the happiest pups that I've ever fostered and will give her forever family sooooo much love!! From the vet team: Hello! I arrived at Secondhand Hounds as part of the Fighter Fund program due to my Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) diagnosis. CH is a condition resulting from inadequate development of the cerebellum which causes lack of balance/coordination, ambulating, head bobbing, tremors, etc. The SHH Vet Team has provided my foster with physical therapy exercises to help gain strength but I will always have this condition. I have a wheel chair and a harness to help with movement but it is also recommended that my future adopter lay down rubber mats to help with my movement. My future adopter should understand my condition and monitor my health with a primary veterinarian. Also, I have an upcoming surgery with an opthamologist due to ablation of eyelashes which will freeze and kill the hair follicles to help prevent regrowth of these abnormal hairs. This surgery and eye recheck appointment will be covered by SHH as long as it is performed at Animal Eye Speciality Center/Secondhand Hounds Vet Center.

Hi! My name is Chevy and I am from a shelter in Arkansas. Chevy is a gem of a dog! He is a very sweet, gentle, mellow, and happy pup. His tail never stops wagging! He loves all people and wants to say hello to every person and dog. He's incredibly curious about everything - he's always sniffing around, trying to find all the bugs, worms, and animals (dead or alive). He tries to eat all types of things that he finds on our walks, but if you just keep a close eye on him he shouldn't get into anything too bad. He is smart, learns things very quickly, and listens pretty well: he knows sit, down, come, leave it, and drop it, although he does choose to ignore these commands sometimes when he finds a particularly interesting object or animal on the ground. He is kennel and potty trained. He does well in his kennel over night and during the day when I'm at work. I've learned the hard way that because he's so naturally curious, he will get into anything that is sitting out at home, so it's best to keep him in a crate while you're out of the house. He gets along great with my resident dog who is normally always in his face, but he tolerates that really well. I think he'd love having another dog to play with, but he'd also be good for someone who just wants one dog as he loves his person. He also spent a weekend with a 13 and 8 year old and he did so well with them - he had so much fun playing! My favorite thing he does is when he wants pets, he will paw at you and scrunch up his nose in the cutest way. He's definitely not a wild or crazy pup, but he of course has bursts of puppy energy sometimes! But most of the time he'll just nap right next to you, which is his favorite place to be.

Hi, I'm Alice! I'm a transfer from Missouri! From the foster: Alice is a shy girl who will sneak her way into your heart! She needs a little time to warm up to new people and doggo friends, but if she's given that, she will be frolicking and romping with other pups and giving you kisses in no time! Once you've passed her "are you safe" test, she's absolutely comfortable with you. It only took about 24 hours for her to feel safe with our resident pups (and now she LOVES to play chase with them!). She will reluctantly go in her kennel and tell the world how she feels about about for a while. We're seeing a little separation anxiety start up so we've started working on that with her. Shared walls probably won't be a good match for this sweetie. When we go outside, she LOVES to do the zoomies! Those are her two speeds, and she is pretty balanced between the two. She is even starting to (kind of) bring the ball back when she's not busy playing keep away with it from our resident pup. She loves her people and wants to hang out with you, and would much rather sleep with you overnight. We have seen a slipper or two "wander off" into her kennel, but if you keep those out of her reach it isn't an issue. She fought a mighty battle with the Roku remote, but luckily, the remote escaped with minor injuries and still functions. We're now working hard on chewing on "approved items," and she listens very well when you tell her what she has isn't approved. Even though she has a slight mischievous/curious side with exploring items with her mouth or exploring the "underground" with her diggy feet, she is very easily redirected. She perks up when kids interact with her, and has been patient with their pets when we've been able to introduce her to some. Cats are unknown, but she does chase the squirrels who have been brave enough to enter our yard. Alice is an absolute sweetheart, with a lot of love to give!
