Unfortunately, we have to rehome our baby boy, and it breaks our hearts. He’s a loving, sweet dog, but due to circumstances with our move, we can’t take him with us. We’re hoping to find someone who can give him the happy, stable home he deserves. He’s been around kids and absolutely adores them. He loves to cuddle. He needs to be an only pet, as he’s reactive to both cats and dogs. He is best suited as the only animal in the home. He listens well to commands and is a quick learner. He’s crate trained and highly food motivated. We will provide all his supplies and we’re happy to share anything else you want to know.

We acquired Sylvia from the local dog shelter. Sylvia is 4 years old. Sylvia loves being outdoors. I believe she would be a great herding dog and perfect on a farm as I believe she requires to be worked daily. Sylvia would be great in a one or 2 person home. Sylvia is very obedient and listens very well. Sylvia gets protective over food. Best to feed in quiet space alone. We do not think she would be good in a home with children. She needs the attention.

Both girls are friendly, do great with children, and love attention. They are located in Ft. Washington, MD. Meet Maple Maple is a red bi female weighing about 60 lbs, complete with an adorable nub tail and striking bi-colored eyes. She has a soft, thick coat and a very gentle soul. Maple has a calm, loving personality that truly shines once she meets you. Maple is the more mellow half of her bonded pair. While she enjoys running around with her sister, she has a lower energy level and prefers meaningful time with her people over constant play. Meet Hamish Hamish is a 4-month-old black tri Australian Shepherd with charm for days and a personality as big as his puppy paws. He truly believes the world is his stage—and that everyone he meets was put here to adore him. Spoiler alert: they usually do. This happy, social boy loves to play and would thrive in an active home, ideally with a dog sibling who can keep up with his enthusiasm. Chasing a ball is one of his favorite things, and he could happily do that all day. After long walks and playtime, he’s perfectly content curling up for naps. Hamish is cat-friendly. He knows better than to chase them, though he occasionally gets a little carried away with sniffing and earns a gentle reminder from his feline friends. Hamish is very intelligent (named after Constable Hamish Macbeth from the beloved Scottish series). He already knows sit, lay down, and shake. Like most puppies, his follow-through still needs polishing, but he is eager to learn, highly food-motivated, and doing an amazing job so far. As a puppy, he will need continued training, structure, and socialization to help him grow into the incredible dog he’s meant to be. Because he is young and people-oriented, Hamish cannot be left alone for long hours. He is looking for an engaged, committed human who has the time and energy to invest in a bright, affectionate puppy—and who’s ready for a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Hamish’s good qualities are endless, and wherever he lands, he is sure to bring immeasurable joy to his forever family. Meet Rocko! Rocko is a very handsome happy boy with the most adorable nose freckles and a wiggle butt that goes non-stop from morning to night. He is about 6 years old and 50 pounds. Rocko is crate trained and house trained. He opens the crate with his nose when told “kennel up.” He makes a soft little grunt/whine noise and carries his bone from his crate to the back door to let you know he needs to go out. Rocko absolutely loves people and bonds quickly! He gives lots of kisses and likes to snuggle on the couch while his foster dad watches sports. It’s clear that he was very loved in a previous home. He came to ARMA through a shelter partner when his previous owner fell ill and was no longer able to care for him. He lived in a home with another dog and did very well during his dog tests at the shelter. He’s not had much play time with his foster sisters yet because he was decompressing and is now recovering from his neuter. We will post details on those interactions once we know more! Rocko also loves balls that he can hold in his mouth. His retrieve is solid, and his foster is working on release! Rocko can walk on a leash but could use some training, as he zig zags on walks. He’s a quiet guy in the house. He also rides nicely in the car and is a good boy for grooming. We will add more to Rocko’s bio soon, but in the meantime, don’t hesitate to apply for this very special boy!
