I already know a few commands such as "sit" and "speak". I take a bit to warm up to people, but once I do, I am so happy to be your friend! I absolutely LOVE booty scratches and a good tug of war (I absolutely LOVE toys and playing with my people!). I will bring my toy, place it in your lap and wait for you to play with me!!! I am a bit shy and nervous around a lot of dogs and commotion, I'd prefer a quieter home as I am a quiet gal. I do have some separation anxiety, so an apartment might not be a good fit for me. I need some leash training, but I am currently practicing my skills. If you are looking for a smart and sweet companion, fill out an application for me today and you’ll gain a faithful friend for life! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Pepper is a 2 year old, 39 lb female that is one of the best adult dogs we’ve had in our rescue. She was picked up by animal control in the south Texas area with her puppies. No rescuers wanted all black puppies and a medium sized momma dog. The shelter was about to euthanize her when we stepped up for all of them. The foster listed all of this for Pepper: - Walks amazing on a leash - Sits on command - Very smart, easily trainable - House broken - Very friendly to everyone she meets - Loves other dogs - Super Sweet - Quiet in a crate through the night - Rides great in a car - Not a chewer or destructive, very relaxed inside and when left alone - Loves treats - Very Gentle - Does not jump - Very attention motivated - Aims to please her people - Couch dog, very chill - Would be great for children - Perfect girl Pepper is fully vetted – Spayed, heart worm negative, current on vaccinations, current on preventions, dewormer, microchipped and will receive a certificate of health from a vet giving her a clean bill of health prior to receiving her. To apply to adopt Pepper you can fill out an application at: www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org

Story
Kylie needs a new home because she is not getting along with the other dog in her home. Her family is very sad to have to rehome her. Here is what they say about this beautiful dog: 'Kylie is an absolutely wonderful dog! She is very loving and attached to all her people. She is not always a fan of service people that come to the house, but any others, if we like them, she likes them. She loves to play ball and will catch it in the air and bring it to you. Kylie is good on walks but sometimes pulls when she heads home. I just stop and make her wait. She loves squeaky toys and Kongs. She is very treat motivated and takes treats extremely well, with just her lips, and will wait for anything if you tell her to 'wait'. She likes to cuddle next to us on the sofa, too. We feed her in her crate and she will go straight to it if you tell her to. She has passed all the obedience training at Petco and passed their Canine Good Citizen Test.' Thank you for your interest in Kylie! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=18246 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Kylie, or to submit an online application. Story
Age: 2 years Size: 58 pounds Estimated breed: Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix Spotty needs a home with: resident dog(s), fenced in yard, no young children   Update 7/7:  Spotty is super dog social guy who needs to be with other dogs. He absolutely adores every dog he meets. Spotty is still a little reserved around people but has been making huge strides and seems to improve every day! He has gone through professional training to work on self- confidence and is able to go on walks now and trust more than he used to. Spotty is super submissive and needs a home with a very social dog that will hang out and play with him all day. He loves to play with dogs more than anything. Spotty is also house trained and crate trained. He requires a fenced yard as he can get spooked and we don’t want to take chances of him trying to flee. Spotty has endless potential if you give him the time and patience he needs and deserves to come out of his shell! -------- Spotty is estimated to be about 1.5 years old and 45 pounds. He was found as a stray in SC and was completely petrified at the shelter. He sat in a corner shaking and had to be carried just to move out of his kennel. He came to us very nervous and shy but with the help of his canine friends, he is slowly learning to trust and thriving in his foster home. He has also met and done training with our trainer where he is now comfortable going for walks on a leash and exploring the outdoors!   Spotty gains comfort from other dogs, so he requires a home with a friendly resident dog to help show him the ropes. Spotty would do best in a home without young children as he is still gets timid around new people and retreats. With time and patience, he will show his new family how goofy and happy he really is. All he needs is someone who is understands that just needs a little time to know he is safe. His best quality..... he is AMAZING with other dogs and wants to be their best friend. If you have a dog that has been wanting a sibling, Spotty is your guy!   To adopt Spotty, please apply on our website! www.keytolionsheart.org/adopt   Please note we cannot guarantee the breed or adult size of any of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training. November 4, 2024, 12:43 pm
