Story
To apply or see more of Nellie, https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/nelliemama LOOKING FOR FOSTER, FOSTER TO ADOPT, OR DIRECT ADOPTION Nellie was originally rescued in March 2020 from the Porterville Shelter with her 9 puppies. She was the most amazing mother to her little ones! Nellie was adopted in the spring of 2020, but now in need of a new home: She is great with kids and babies! She lives with cats and may do well with well-matched cats given proper intros, early separation, and management Nellie LOVES water, swimming and playing fetch Nellie is house-trained She would love a home with a big backyard and a flexible or WFH schedule While she lives with a dog currently, she got in a scuffle with her doggy sibling a few times over the past 2.5 years and the family feels they can no longer be in the home with each other anymore. While Nellie is, more often than not, good with dogs, we would recommend that she be your one and only. She is not reactive to dogs, but muzzle training is a great tool to provide peace of mind around other dogs She is timid with new people, but is gentle and bonds strongly with her circle. Nellie is 50 lbs, 4-5 years old, spayed, and vaccinated Nellie is currently located in CHICO, CA Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
G-day ! My name is Uluru, and I`m a good boy trying to get used to life at the shelter. My Shelter friends say I am as unique looking as a lot of my Aussie mates... I`m a definite ripper with my curled ears and pom pom tail !  I`m so excited for the next stage of my life in my forever home.  I`m a pleasure to walk on leash, I adore affection - belly rubs, ear scratches, and snuggles are my favorite ! I love playing in and with water- I would make an excellent assistant with watering plants or washing cars !  Would you like to meet me and experience the joy of cuddles and water play? I know my Forever Family is out there, waiting to enjoy these things with me. Until then... Cheers, Mate !!Uluru recently met some social dogs at our shelter but he didn`t seem eager to make dog friends and may prefer to be an only dog.  Here`s a short video of his time in playgroups:To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!

Story
We got our dog from a local shelter and he will be turning 3 in November. He is a very loving dog who knows a lot of commands and is very smart and well behaved. He is still excited when on a leash and has gotten better about not pulling. He loves to play fetch, he will never wear out from chasing a tennis ball. We are looking to find him a loving home where he will be a valued member of the family. He will come with his leash, harness, collar, crate, his beds, and his toys. We will also supply any treats or food he has at that time.

Story
Clover is a 2 year old female Mini Aussie that weighs 38 lbs. She has a sleek coat that is red tri color. Breed: She is dog selective and good with kids and cats. She is friendly, house-trained, and leash trained. She is being fostered in Brentwood, CA (Nor Cal - East SF Bay Area) Meet Clover, a charming young Mini Aussie who is looking for her forever home! Clover was found as a stray, with significant sun-bleaching on her fur from spending too much time outdoors. She can be a bit shy and is particularly sensitive to loud noises and raised voices, even from another room. The sound of a bug zapper once scared her so much that she shook for hours even after it was unplugged. Despite her initial shyness, Clover is incredibly affectionate and loves to be by her foster mom's side. She's a true lap dog, always eager to climb into her foster mom's lap or be picked up, even during outdoor playtime. Clover adores cuddling and has not taken well to crate training due to her fear of gates and bars. Instead, she sleeps on her foster mom's bed and needs to be always touching her foster mom during the night. Clover is a delight on walks, staying close and not pulling on the leash, though she does like to zigzag around to sniff interesting scents. She has a sleek, slinky build and enjoys staying low to the ground while exploring. When she feels safe, Clover's playful side shines through and both her posture and ears perk up. She loves playing with other dogs, especially if they join in her enthusiasm for endless play bows, friendly sneezes, spins, jumps, and trots. Orange toys are her favorite, particularly her orange squeaky toy and ball. While Clover is generally friendly with other dogs and cats, she has shown a preference for avoiding large dogs and doesn't like to be disturbed while sleeping. She may chase the cat if it runs but only to sniff it before returning to her foster mom. Clover can be quite sassy, sometimes going "dead weight" when she doesn't want to do something, like getting vaccines or coming inside from playing. Clover has a sweet and friendly disposition that charms everyone she meets. She's mostly quiet, only barking at a particular large dog she doesn't like. While she has a lower energy level overall, she enjoys bursts of high-energy play in a fenced yard. Clover would thrive in a home with another young dog or two to play with but prefers to be the only "Velcro dog" and loves to claim her foster mom's lap. If you're looking for a sweet, sassy, and affectionate companion, Clover might be the perfect fit for your home. Come meet this adorable little pup and see if she can steal your heart as she has stolen ours! Meet and greets will be set once applications have been received. Clover will be ready to go to her forever home as soon as she has medical clearance from the vet! Adopt: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family.

Story
It's pretty impossible not to love Ahi! Ahi is a 1.5-year-old goofball who is always on the lookout for fun. Like a true herding breed dog, she loves to always be on the move and is a smart girl who loves to learn. She is a special girl as she was born deaf, but that doesn't stop her from being a happy-go-lucky pup. Ahi is full-grown at just under 40lbs. Ahi is currently being fostered by the family who adopted her sister. Unfortunately, Ahi's previous owners were not able to keep up with her exercise requirements and she was returned to the person who bred her mom. Once her foster family heard about her, they wasted no time to come to her rescue and we were happy to make her a YCSPCA dog and help find her fur-ever home. Ahi is a confident girl who loves to explore and make new friends. She has come to a few adoption events and has blown us away with how social she is out and about. She would be a great dog for someone who likes to go to dog-friendly breweries. She is a higher-energy girl, so she needs an active family that will ensure she gets lots of daily exercise and enrichment to keep her busy mind and body happy. Ahi has been doing great learning all her basic manners but still learning how to not get too excited when saying hello, so her new family will need to be committed to working on her training and helping her learn how to be the best girl she can be. She is VERY food-motivated and will do just about anything for a tasty treat. Ahi's lack of hearing doesn't slow her down one bit, but training can be a little more difficult since she can't hear. She needs a dog-savvy family that has experience with deaf dogs or is eager to learn how to work with her and possibly hire a professional trainer to learn how to communicate with Ahi. Ahi loves other dogs and has done well living with other playful medium/large dogs. She can be a little too boisterous for small or older dogs though. Ahi needs a cat-free and would do best in an adult-only home or with kids older than 14 years old. Ahi is housetrained in her foster home, but her new family should be patient with her while she is settling into a new home and routine and expect a few accidents. Ahi is crate-trained and does well in her crate overnight and when her foster family isn't home. Ahi is such a rockstar dog and we know she is going to make a great companion for the right family. If she sounds like the right-hand girl for you, submit an adoption application today!   Ahi's adoption fee is $350.   Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/  Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm and started on preventatives, and are given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. July 26, 2024, 4:29 pm
