Story
Loyal, affectionate, and smart - Sienna is the complete package! Sienna is estimated to be around a year old, and she is a darling girl with a big heart and a gentle soul. It's pretty impossible not to fall in love with her as she knows just the way to win your heart with her big brown puppy-dog eyes. She is a big fan of cuddles and will happily make herself comfy with you on the couch for a movie night or an afternoon nap. Sienna weighs about 41lbs, but is underweight and should probably weigh closer to 45lbs. Sienna came to us after she found herself on the euthanasia list at no fault of her own at a Central California animal shelter. She was a young mom of 7 puppies, and she needed our help! We were able to save Sienna and all of her babies, who have been growing up in foster homes and will be available for adoption soon. Her work as a mom is done, and now it's her turn to be the spoiled baby. Sienna's foster parents only have great things to say about this sweet girl. She quickly made herself at home in foster care and has shown herself to be a well-mannered pup who loves making new friends and keeping her foster parents company, no matter what the day brings. She has done great being out and about in public and seems like she would be a wonderful companion for someone who wants a dog to take to dog-friendly breweries and restaurants. She is a moderate-energy gal who enjoys her daily walks and could be a great sidekick if you enjoy the outdoors. Sienna is a very smart girl who is eager to learn, especially if a tasty treat is involved. She has been doing great with her basic manners training and is an ideal fit for someone who wants a dog past the crazy puppy phase. Sienna has shown to be interested in making dog friends and could do well with a dog buddy after a proper introduction. Sienna has been doing well living with dog-savvy cats after a slow introduction. Sienna seems like she could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Sienna is housetrained. She is not a big fan of being crated, but is happy to sleep through the night on her dog bed in the bedroom. Sienna doesn't like being left alone and needs a family that won't have to leave her often or for long. Sienna has been doing well living in an apartment with proper exercise. Sienna is such an amazing dog, and she is going to bring so much love and happiness to a very lucky family. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!   Sienna's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. May 19, 2026, 11:59 am

Story
Our 4-year-old full-breed Australian Shepherd is looking for a loving new home. He is house-trained, very smart, and knows commands like sit, stay, roll over and loves to fetch. He’s great with kids and other dogs, loves people, and would do best in a home with another dog, as he can get lonely and anxious when left alone. He only takes anxiety medication for vet or grooming visits. He does need a little continued work with not grabbing food off the counter. He tends to bark when we have visitors but will settle down after a bit. Overall he is a wonderful, affectionate, loyal dog. This is a very hard decision for our family, but with our big busy household, we feel he would thrive in a quieter home where he can get the calm environment, companionship, and attention he deserves

Story
Meet Celeste 💃🐾 Celeste is a 25lb, 3yr old purebred mini Australian Shepherd. Celeste is a super sweet girl who is very shy. Once Celeste warms up she is the most devoted, loving girl who would like nothing more than to be by your side. Celeste is the type of girl who loves to cuddle and will just melt into your lap, making sure you have full access for belly rubs. Celeste walks “ok” on a leash and would definitely benefit from some training. The great thing is Celeste is super smart and picks up on training very quickly. Celeste likes nothing more than to please you and get the “good girl” love pets. Beauty and smarts, she’s the whole package. Celeste is spayed, vaccinated, up to date on her rabies vaccine and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting Celeste, please fill out an application at www.broketailrescue.org, located under the contact tab.

Story
Rosie will be 2 in June, she is high energy, lovable, loyal dog who bonds strongly with her person. She is intelligent and eager to please. Loves to play ball and is fast! She is has good recall (unless she see a squirrel or cat lol). I think she’d be good at agility training. I run and hike with her. I got her because she needed to be rehomed due to a landlord issue and was about to go to a shelter. I have a small dog and the original intent was for her to be my sons dog. Unfortunately she bonded with me and is wary men in the house. 1yr later she has not warmed to him. I have discovered also that both Rosie and my other dog seem to be better in one dog homes. Both vie for my attention which causes tension in our home. I think Rosie would thrive in an environment where she has lots of love and daily outdoor time with her person.

Story
Loki is a young 1.5 yr Australian Shepherd mix with a huge heart, endless love to give, and a personality that makes people fall for him instantly. He’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, social, and deeply bonds with his people. Loki thrives when he has structure, activity, attention, and someone willing to truly invest in him. He would do best with an active person or family familiar with working breeds and the mental/physical stimulation they require. He loves being involved, learning, playing, and simply existing alongside his humans. We are rehoming Loki with a heavy heart, not because of anything he has done wrong, but because our senior dog has not adjusted well to having another dog in the home despite months of training and consistent effort. Loki deserves an environment where he can fully thrive and build a strong connection with someone ready for that commitment. Our current dog trainer is also offering two free weeks of training to help with his transition into a new home!
