Story
Can you say adorable? I love this litter of six…they have got to be the cutest and friendliest puppies that I’ve fostered in a long time! They are super sweet, loveable and such happy puppies! Like most puppies their age, they have plenty of energy and they love to run and play with each other. They adore people, both grown-ups and kids and the attention they receive from them as well. My grandkids have really had a ball playing with them during their stay. Kara will make a great addition to some lucky family. Since they came from a shelter we can’t be 100% sure of their breeding, but the Animal Control Officer thought they were an Australian Shepherd/Terrier mix. Some of them have curled tails and they should be medium sized when fully grown. She was born on 12/16/23 making her 4 months old at the time of this posting (4/15/24) and weighing 22 pounds. She has been spayed, micro-chipped, fecal tested, is current on all vaccinations, worming, heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $400. Kara is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted she will be transported to her pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the Northeast area every week and her fee includes transportation. Due to state laws, we cannot accept applications from residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine on her since we can’t adopt directly to those states.

Story
This wonderful girl was part of a neglect case and was forcefully surrendered. She is such a sweetheart despite the hardship of her young life. She is friendly to everyone she meets and likes kidd. She does have the Aussie energy so will need an active family to keep her busy. She will also need all the basic general training as she was kept outside. We don't think she has ever been inside a house so it will be an adjustment for her, please be patient. She also spills her food as she was fed by having food thrown to her. She doesn't know what to do with a dog bed and is protective over any toy/treat she is given since she was never given these either. Any family will love the joy and smiles she brings as she is just happiness in a puppy body. We also use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. ZAANA was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. She along with her 7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 ZAANA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 18 November 2021 and at the time of transport weighed around 30 pounds. The group believe that Zaana could be a Japanese Spitz mix, but we have no way of knowing for sure. ZAANA is the girl for you if you are looking for a gentle, sweet, super affectionate girl. She has settled in well after her long, scary trip from Oman and enjoys when I am in the kennels giving her lots of love and fuss. She will put her paw on my arm or shoulder so that I can scratch the spots she likes and I think it is also her way of wanting to connect. She is a beautiful girl who does have a medium length coat, so grooming is a consideration to be taken into account as if coats are not brushed, they can matt very easily which is not healthy and painful for the dogs. She is an active girl and will need a family that will take her on lots of adventures and give her the lifestyle that she needs and deserves to thrive. ZAANA can be dog selective and so she would be best in a home with no other dogs, so as to not cause any un-needed stress or concerns. Then over time she can get to meet other dogs and see who she likes to have as her friends so she can play and chase and have some doggy-fun. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue   YouTube channel    and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Zaana is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a reduced adoption fee of $550. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats.
