Cyrus was one of three puppies rescued alongside their mom after they were found abandoned in a crate on the side of a remote road. A good Samaritan stepped in to help and reached out online for assistance. That was the day everything changed for Cyrus and his family. Cyrus is 3 months old and currently weighs 15 pounds. DNA testing from one of his littermates indicates that mom, Sunny, is a Chihuahua/Poodle mix, while dad was an Australian Shepherd/Shepherd mix. Based on his current size, we estimate that Cyrus will grow to around 30 pounds. This dappled dude is a happy-go-lucky puppy. He's curious, confident, playful, social, and seems to be the leader of the Sunny trio. Cyrus has the energy of an Aussie mixed with the fun-loving spirit of a Poodle. He's a smart boy who is eager to learn and easy to train. Cyrus would do well in a home with children who are old enough to understand that puppies explore and play with their mouths. A home with a yard would be ideal, as he loves spending time outdoors. At this time, we don't believe apartment living would be the best fit for him. Cyrus currently barks at the barn cats he sees every day. He would thrive either as the only dog in a home where someone is around to provide plenty of enrichment and guidance during his puppyhood, or with another friendly dog who would enjoy having a companion. Cyrus is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and receiving flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Puppies in our care who are 6 months of age or older are spayed or neutered through Good Catch. For younger puppies, this responsibility falls to the adopter. We are based in Texas but adopt to multiple states. Hello everyone! I am Goose in Terryville! Yes, yes, thank you - I am very handsome, aren’t I? Even if I am carrying a few extra pounds these days. Well, who isn’t at the age of 7 (or thereabouts - I’m not saying)? Although I do tolerate dogs and cats, I tend to want to be in charge all the time (duh), and of course all the people belong to me, so there can be conflict with others who won’t get with the program. And those kitties are SOOOOOO fun to herd that my foster Moms and the lady who picked me up think I’m probably best suited to a home where all the attention is mine and I don’t have to share (YES!!). I *may* be ok with a submissive female, but that would need to be evaluated with a meet and greet, and if there are other dogs / cats in the home, my adopted would need to be very experienced with how to manage different personalities so we were all set up to succeed. Because I like to herd, and because I am a bit of a drama queen when startled by young children, it is recommended that I go to a home without them. Older dog-savvy kids are OK. I can be loud and uneasy at first with strangers. If allowed some time to get used to them (and/or bribed with treats), I quickly lose interest in being dramatic and go for all the pets! I LOVE attention. Once I decide you’re ok, I want to be everywhere you are. In your lap, in whatever room you’re in, getting pet - I’ll roll right over for belly rubs once I’m comfortable. I give the BEST snuggles and smooches! I’m great in the car, not especially fond of vets but am muzzle-trained. I could also be given medication for that. I would do great with regular walks and my very own butler - er, person to love me and be my world. Marmaduke is a big goofy lovebug! He adores children and other dogs. He is very curious about cats and chickens and is probably best in a home without those (or where he can be separated from them). He is about 1 year old and has been in rescue all his life. He had a medical issue as a puppy that required surgery and he is healed from that but needs 24/7 dog door access - he is doggie door trained. He will do best in a home with a secure fenced yard, another dog or dogs to play with that are not tiny since he's so big, and respectful animal-loving children that will love him as much as he loves them. After working with him I have learned that the best place for him would be a place with no children or other animals and an area that will have a fenced in yard with a calm area neighborhood. Kumo is a young energetic dog that loves to eat. Kumo knows his basic commands and tries to push the envelope when it come to wait and stay. When he relaxing he would prefer to be left alone. Kumo enjoys his chew toys. Kumo needs time to warm up to new people. He likes to be asked to do something over being pushed physically. Kumo will go far in the right home.
