Story
Baron is a gentle giant and a truly gorgeous Australian Shepherd. He weighs about 42 pounds, is neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to find the right forever home. Baron enjoys the simple things in life. He loves playing in water, spending time with other dogs, and chewing on his toys. He is both house trained and kennel trained, and he walks well on a leash. Baron is a chewer, so he will need plenty of appropriate chew toys to keep him occupied and away from furniture or walls. Baron gets along very well with other dogs and really enjoys their company. While he loves playing with canine friends, he is not the outgoing, overly affectionate type with people. If you are looking for a super bubbly, “happy-go-lucky” dog who instantly loves everyone, Baron may not be the best match. He is more of an introvert who takes time to feel comfortable. Once Baron gets to know you and spends time with you, he will form a strong bond. He is a loyal companion for someone who understands his personality and is willing to go at his pace. Baron can be a little wary of men, though he does not show any aggression. He simply needs patience and time to build trust, and it may take him a bit longer to bond with men than with women. Baron would do best with a patient family who understands that adjustment takes time. When he leaves his foster home, he can become a little sad or withdrawn at first, but with kindness, consistency, and patience, he will settle in and learn that his new home is a safe place. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and are willing to give Baron the time and space he needs to blossom, he will reward you with a lifelong bond. 🐾 Baron is being fostered in LA FERIA, TX. His adoption fee of $350 will cover his transport cost in TX. Story
Hello everyone! I am Goose in Terryville! Yes, yes, thank you - I am very handsome, aren’t I? Even if I am carrying a few extra pounds these days. Well, who isn’t at the age of 7 (or thereabouts - I’m not saying)? Although I do tolerate dogs and cats, I tend to want to be in charge all the time (duh), and of course all the people belong to me, so there can be conflict with others who won’t get with the program. And those kitties are SOOOOOO fun to herd that my foster Moms and the lady who picked me up think I’m probably best suited to a home where all the attention is mine and I don’t have to share (YES!!). I *may* be ok with a submissive female, but that would need to be evaluated with a meet and greet, and if there are other dogs / cats in the home, my adopted would need to be very experienced with how to manage different personalities so we were all set up to succeed. Because I like to herd, and because I am a bit of a drama queen when startled by young children, it is recommended that I go to a home without them. Older dog-savvy kids are OK. I can be loud and uneasy at first with strangers. If allowed some time to get used to them (and/or bribed with treats), I quickly lose interest in being dramatic and go for all the pets! I LOVE attention. Once I decide you’re ok, I want to be everywhere you are. In your lap, in whatever room you’re in, getting pet - I’ll roll right over for belly rubs once I’m comfortable. I give the BEST snuggles and smooches! I’m great in the car, not especially fond of vets but am muzzle-trained. I could also be given medication for that. I would do great with regular walks and my very own butler - er, person to love me and be my world. If you think I would be a good fit for you, please fill out an application for me at https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to my new furever family.

Story
Marmaduke is a big goofy lovebug! He adores children and other dogs. He is very curious about cats and chickens and is probably best in a home without those (or where he can be separated from them). He is about 1 year old and has been in rescue all his life. He had a medical issue as a puppy that required surgery and he is healed from that but needs 24/7 dog door access - he is doggie door trained. He will do best in a home with a secure fenced yard, another dog or dogs to play with that are not tiny since he's so big, and respectful animal-loving children that will love him as much as he loves them. If you are interested in Marmaduke, please fill out an application at our website: forrescue.net He is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area and we have determined because of his need for 24/7 dog door access he should be adopted locally in case an adopter cannot manage his condition and he must return to the rescue. We only want what is best for this amazingly sweet boy!

Story
Available In Old Lyme, CT This very handsome dude is Kumo! He is currently in a board/train facility in CT. He is a 2 year old energetic boy. After working with him I have learned that the best place for him would be a place with no children or other animals and an area that will have a fenced in yard with a calm area neighborhood. Kumo is a young energetic dog that loves to eat. Kumo knows his basic commands and tries to push the envelope when it come to wait and stay. When he relaxing he would prefer to be left alone. Kumo enjoys his chew toys. Kumo needs time to warm up to new people. He likes to be asked to do something over being pushed physically. Kumo will go far in the right home. He wants to work and be loved. Kumo likes to walk, jog, snuggle and get lots of pets. He is high energy with a big appetite. Kumo is neutered, current on immunizations, housebroken and on preventatives. If you think this boy is a good fit for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts. Disclosure: Kumo has a bite history, however he has been in a board/train facility for a few months and the trainer has seen no sign of this behavior.

Story
adoption donation : $499 weight 32 lbs Age 1 year Ginger is a beautiful, super friendly girl who loves everyone she meets, her tail never stops wagging! This loving girl was found in Puerto Rico sitting under a coconut tree on a beach known to be a place where people dump dogs. A kindly couple saw her there and assumed she was waiting for her owners but three days later she was still in the same spot, hungry, and trembling. The couple took her in and discovered she was the sweetest dog ever! They had her spayed and vaccinated and on February 6 this lucky girl arrived to her new foster home in the northeast, ready for a loving family of her own. Ginger doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body, she is all kisses, wiggles and wags! She loves other dogs and is gentle with children. Ginger is medium energy and loves to run around outside but when she’s home she likes to curl up with her toys or a bone or try to snuggle on her foster parents laps! Ginger is completely housebroken and fully grown at 32 pounds. She will make some lucky family a wonderful new addition. Wags of Monroe county is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Adoption fee includes the transport, vaccines, microchip and spay. For more information on adopting any of our Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com
