🐾 ASSISTED PLACEMENT — MEET NASH ❤️
SDBP CT Rescue is currently assisting Nash's family in finding an appropriate new home. Nash remains with his current family and has not yet been formally taken into SDBP CT Rescue.
However, if we can secure an appropriate foster or foster-to-adopt home for Nash, we would gladly take him on as an SDBP CT Rescue dog and help him through this transition. ❤️
Sometimes a dog can be deeply loved and still find himself in an environment that is no longer the best fit for him.
That's where Nash is today.
Nash is an Australian Shepherd mix whose home environment has changed considerably with the addition of a new baby and another very energetic dog. There have been a few incidents of tension between Nash and the other dog, and his family understandably doesn't feel comfortable taking chances with a small child now in the home.
As a result, Nash is currently spending much of his time separated from the household, and this isn't the long-term life anyone wants for him.
His family has reached out to several rescues looking for help, but the reality is one we're seeing everywhere: rescues are full and foster homes are incredibly hard to find.
And that's really the missing piece for Nash.
🏡 WE NEED A PLACE FOR NASH TO LAND
We're looking for:
❤️ An adopter — someone ready to give Nash his permanent home.
🐾 A foster-to-adopt home — someone interested in Nash who would like the opportunity to make sure he's the right fit.
🏠 A committed foster — someone willing to open their home to Nash while SDBP CT Rescue takes him on and works toward finding his forever family.
We've had the opportunity to personally meet Nash, and our experience with him was very positive.
He was friendly and approachable, confident but relaxed, happy to interact with us, and walked very nicely on leash.

🐕 Has done well with some dogs, although there have been reactions toward the other dog currently in his home

💉 Will be brought up to date on vaccinations once appropriate placement is secured
We believe Nash would benefit tremendously from a calmer, more predictable environment where he can settle into a routine and enjoy the later years of his life.
Could Nash potentially live with another dog? Possibly. Because he has done well with some dogs, we don't want to automatically label him as needing to be an only dog. Any resident dog would need to be an appropriate match, with thoughtful introductions to make sure everyone is comfortable.
Nash isn't currently an SDBP intake—but we're willing to change that if someone is willing to give him the safe place to land that he needs.
We have the rescue.
We have the willingness to help.
What we need is the home. ❤️
