APPLY FOR TROOPER Hey everyone! I’m Trooper, a playful 1-year-old Australian Shepherd. I weigh about 30 lbs and I’m all set with being neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.   I had quite the experience recently—I was in a car accident (but don’t worry, I wasn’t hurt at all!). My amazing foster dad, who happens to be a state trooper, found me just hanging out in the front seat, completely safe. Sadly, after waiting to be claimed, no one came for me, so now I’m on the lookout for a new family who will love and cherish me!   I’m a clever boy! I know how to take treats super gently and I’ve mastered "sit." If you spend some quality time teaching me, I’m sure I’ll learn a ton of fun tricks in no time!   I’m not overly hyper, but I do enjoy going on adventures and keeping my brain engaged. I'm friendly with both dogs and kids, and while I haven’t met any cats yet, I bet with the right introductions, we could get along just fine! Can’t wait to meet my new family!     ADOPTION FEE: $563  ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:  Alteration, Microchip, Vaccines APPLICATION: Click here to apply IF YOU HAVE OWNED A PET IN THE LAST 10 YEARS, PLEASE CALL YOUR VET AHEAD OF TIME TO ALLOW RESCUES TO SPEAK TO THEM ##2632172##

Story
It’s obvious that Chet has STAR quality! Not only is he the most handsome guy around, but he is also a very affectionate dog and he is very smart. He went to puppy school as a youngster and learned his basic commands. He being on the receiving end of his human’s attention, snuggling with them on the couch, sleeping in the bed with them and he always gives kisses freely. He’s a lot of fun too… loves to play with toys, and if you’ll throw them, he will catch and retrieve balls and frisbees. Chet is a fairly quiet and a little shy and he want’s all of his human’s attention for himself. That being said, he needs to be the only dog in the home. He gets along with other dogs as long as they are laid back/submissive, but prefers not to live with them. He hasn’t been around little kids, but would be fine around older kids that would respect him and treat him with kindness. Chet will make a wonderful companion for some lucky family! He is three years old (dob 11/9/21) and weighs 40-45 pounds, has been neutered, micro-chipped, 4DX heartworm tested, fecal tested, is current on all vaccinations, worming, heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee is $400. Chet is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted he will be transported to his pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the Northeast area every week and his fee includes transportation. Due to state laws, we cannot accept applications from residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine since we can’t adopt directly to those states.

Story
Fancy like Applebee seems like a very appropriate theme song for Puppy Applebee! That spotty body is pretty darn fancy!! Applebee is about 10 weeks old and ready for a home to call her very own. She's super sweet, loves to play with other pups, loves meeting nice new humans, and will be a wonderful addition to any loving home. This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Madea is about 10 weeks old and will be ready to leave our care just in time to celebrate Valentine's Day with her new loves! She is very playful and sweeter than a sampler box of chocolates. Story
Phoebe and her babies were dropped at an older man’s home and he asked for help. This sweet momma worked hard protecting her babies and nursing them. She deserves special love and treatment now for herself. She is learning all the things in foster care to be a good pet. Phoebe loves affection and willfully responds with plenty of love back. She is good on a leash and rides great in the car. She will be a wonderful family member. Her laid back manner is so sweet and she attaches to whomever is kind to her. She loves to run and is quite athletic. She is a cute size and has a sweet loving spirit! She needs a family of her own. Phoebe is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info.
