Story
Tabby is an active, happy, outgoing girl with a friendly and loving personality. At 7 years old, she's past the puppy stage, making her much more obedient and easy to have around. Tabby enjoys a brisk walk and wants you to enjoy it too, so she walks like a dream on a leash. She is a well-behaved lady, is friendly with other dogs, and is even tolerant of cats! She doesn't love getting into a car, but once she's there, she rides around happily. Tabby would love to find an active family with adults or older children who will help work on her confidence and toss a ball or frisbee to keep her fit and active. Tabby is up to date on vaccines, spayed and microchipped. If you would likeTo meet this senior girl, please visit the NCHS website and fill out an application.

Story
In Mineral Bluff, GA - This is Jack. He is a handsome, healthy and loyal boy who needs a home of his very own. He’s had a rough time in life. After being neglected and abused in a former home, he spent time in 2 different shelters and is slow to trust most people. But with time, patience and love he has become a loyal, loving Velcro buddy to foster papa and mama. This boy LOVES walks, whether just around the neighborhood or on less busy trails. He walks very nicely on leash with his easy walk harness. He also likes to run and play ball in the large, fenced yard or just nap under a shady tree. Jack loves to be close to his people. He will sleep very quietly in his crate at night for at least 9-10 hours. He eagerly goes in to get his 2 night time cookies. Once you gain Jack’s trust, he is so sweet and loving. He adores his foster papa and mama. He is not especially fond of sharing with the other pups in the family. He would prefer all the attention, toys and treats for himself. Jack does have fear reactivity and this is mostly to people he doesn’t know well. Slow and careful introductions are best. He would not do well with children. He has not been cat tested. Jack had been working on his basic obedience and learning to focus on his person and not his triggers. He had gotten much better, but will need ongoing training in this area. He will need someone patient and committed. Jack loves to learn and be a “good boy”! Jack is a very healthy 9 year old and weighs 60 pounds. He recently had a complete checkup and dental cleaning and did very well. He is up to date on vaccinations and heart worm/flea-tick preventative. Jack has a beautiful black tri coat which foster mama has worked on to get it in good shape. ( He was quite dirty and matted at first) He is a good boy getting a bath and now loves to be brushed. I think foster mama got 9 years of undercoat off of him!! Jack has been waiting a long time for his furever family. If someone just gives him a chance to trust , you will have his heart and he will have yours ❤️ Just a couple other things about Jack….. Experienced Aussie/ dog owner , especially with fear reactivity/aggression. Most likely should be an only dog. We have to keep him separated from our 2 ( he really doesn’t like our male, Rocky). He may do ok with a submissive female. Our female is quite bossy! Here is the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new family.
