Story

Hemsworth is a 2.5 year old Australian Shepherd. He has been with me since he was 7 weeks old. He is house-trained and loves other dogs! He can be a bit shy with other humans at first, but then he is very affectionate once he is comfortable. He was raised with an English Bulldog brother and a Chocolate Lab cousin, so he is not used to being alone and tends to display some anxiety when left alone. Exhibited anxiety behaviors include whining, and he has been known to chew things he is not supposed to when he is anxious; however, this has been much less common as he has gotten older. He is otherwise super energetic, playful, and cuddly. He has good manners and follows commands well. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He would make a great family pet or would do well with someone very active. I am rehoming him, as I will be moving into a one-bedroom apartment in the city alone, where he simply will not get the exercise and attention he needs and deserves.

Tookie is a 5 year old male Australian Shepherd mix. His mix of light and brown markings, along with his friendly smile make him a very handsome boy. He's approximately 50lbs, Tookie has been neutered and is now heartworm negative. Tookie loves affection. He's playful but calms down quickly if there's a good ear scratching to be had. Tookie enjoys lounging on his bed in the sun, a little rough housing with his best friend Diamond, and treats. Lots of treats! He's well behaved, knows sit, comes when called and is crate trained. He does fine with older kids and does well walking on a leash. Note: Tookie and Diamond are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They share a special bond and provide each other with comfort and companionship. We hope to find a loving home that can welcome both of them and keep their friendship intact.

Meet Maze! Maze and his "sister", Molly, were part of a severe neglect case in a rural county we try to help out as often as we can. There were actually three dogs found starved with no water but sadly one of them didn’t survive. But after lots and lots of TLC from the volunteers at the county shelter while they waited for the court system to do its thing and then even more love and attention in their foster home, these babies are ready to find their forever families and get started on their way to Happily Ever After. Maze is only about 6 months old (as of Sept 2024). We think he is an Australian Shepherd mix and he is great with other dogs and absolutely as sweet as can be. And Maze has the most unbelievably soft coat! He would love to find his new best friend who will help him put their past behind them where it belongs! Interested in adopting? Oakley was with current owner since a puppy but cannot keep as the family is too busy (3 kids and another large dog and cat), and Oakley is not getting the love, care and attention she needs. Oakley doesn’t play with toys too much but does play w/them when her non-sibling brother, Dobie mix, plays w/them and her. She likes running around w/him in their yard. She is a bit docile and submits to pets by rolling on her back for belly rubs. Oakley would be an easy addition for anyone as she lives w/three children ages (4, 6, & 9 years old), a cat, and a dog, so she’s good w/all. We would like to take this girl in now before she winds up somewhere not so good but need a foster home until her adoptive home is found.
