Story
She is very sweet and loving. It takes a little bit to warm up to new people. She wants to be with us wherever we go and loves to jump in our lap. She would be best as an only dog because she doesn’t get along with my other Australian Sheppard. They are both very dominant. We took her in back in October from a young man who joined the military.

Story
We got him when he was 6 months old. Born 12/26/2021. He loves to be outside but also loves to lay on the couch with you. He is timid and will take some time to get used to someone. He does not like to be alone. We had an older dog that he followed constantly. She passed away and he doesn't know what to do. We are gone 12+ hours and he is struggling. He needs attention and to not be locked up for long periods. He gets anxious in a crate and will bark, whine, and try to escape the crate. He has not been around many other dogs, never around cats. He needs to run and be active. He does not play fetch, but always ran after our other dog trying to herd her as she chased balls. He loves to chew bones and toys. He is a sweet dog that needs more love and attention than we can give.

Story
Meet Dexter! ??A, 33lb, 10-month-old bundle Mini Aussie mix with endless puppy energy and a heart full of love! Dexter is the life of the party, famous for his lightning-fast zoomies around the yard and his curious nose that just has to sniff and investigate everything. Whether it’s a new scent on the breeze or something interesting in the grass, Dexter is always ready for an adventure.Playtime is his favorite time! He absolutely loves stuffy toys (especially the ones with squeakers!). Toss a ball, and you’ll see just how fast those puppy legs can go. He’s playful, silly, and guaranteed to keep you smiling. Dexter is also incredibly friendly. He adores people and gets along great with other dogs, making him a wonderful companion for a social household. His sweet nature and wagging tail make fast friends wherever he goes.Because he’s still very much a puppy, Dexter would thrive in an active home that’s ready to embrace his energy and continue his training with patience and consistency. With guidance, exercise, and lots of love, he’s sure to grow into an amazing lifelong best friend. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. Story
Meeko needs a lot of attention and running space! He is a working dog through and through who also needs a lot of snuggles. Hes great with other dogs, great with kids, and a great listener. We are having a baby, and the time and attention he needs, it’s not fair to him! He’s a sweet, loving boy, who needs a family to love him just as much as we do!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Michele (mballenger58@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Online Adoption Application › Please read all details in bio before applying for adoption!Link is our very special pup. He is a blind neuro boy and because of this it will take time and patience for him to adjust. He may act out in fear. He occasionaly has night terrors. He will need to get familiar with his new person's scent and voice to know they are near. We are looking for a special person, preferably who has experience with a blind pup and Is willing to discuss and work with him. Link is very fearful of other animals and would do best in a home with only adult humans and a fenced yard.  He will always be a pup. Link has an amazing personality and is very loving, especially to those who give him belly rubs and food (his two favorite things). He knows his crate is a safe place and gets very comfortable. He loves to run and play in the yard. He will be some work for the right individual who can help him blossom.  Link is medium in size, he has grown more than expected.CARE's adoption process is done by the applicant using their cell at the adoption meeting to access the Shelterluv platform to agree to the adoption contract and pay the $250 adoption fee by credit or debit card. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 1:53 pm
