Story
Domino is about 13 but is healthy and fairly active. He enjoys laying in the driveway to watch traffic and going out to the barn to supervise during chore time. We got Dom about 10 years ago from a family with too many dogs and small kids. Our daughter was about 7 and Dom was fine but he was on edge around kids. He would prefer to have a home without kids at this point. He absolutely will not fetch, but he is a cuddler that is down to adventure. He likes car rides and has excellent recall. It is hard to let him go, but I don't think he will appreciate moving across the country. He is a very good boy. He will come with his crate, bowl, and bed.

Story
Apollo (Appa) is a good dog, gentle for the most part (he does like to play and is oblivious to his size) and has done well with kids, other dogs (after he gets used to them), and cats. He's a 4.5 year old Aussie mix and up-to-date on shots. Apollo has Canine Epilepsy and takes quite a few meds to keep his seizures under control. The meds help for the most part, but occasionally he still has an episode. He's not neutered since he had seizures before we could take him in. He'd do best with a fenced in yard where he can run. Our family is growing, and we find we can't give him the time and care he needs anymore, but he's a good dog and we'd love to see him go to a loving home.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Susie is a beautiful Aussie mix. She is a 2 years old and is 70lbs. Susie is fearful when meeting new people and takes time to be comfortable. It may take multiple meet and greets for Susie. She would do best in a quiet house with a consistent routine. She does jump up on people when she is happy to see them. She loves to play with toys and other dogs her size with proper introduction. She does love to chew Nyla bones and antlers. She will bark when someone comes to the door and she sees things in the yard. She is housebroken and knows some basic commands. Susie is not good with cats. She is an active dog but calms down in the house. Susie would love a fenced in yard to play in. She will bark at things she sees when outside in the yard. She would not be good in an apartment. If you are interested in Susie fill out an application. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
Meet Teddy — an energetic, intelligent boy who’s looking for the right person to help him thrive. Teddy is very high-energy and can become easily overstimulated, especially around other dogs and people. He’s been working with a trainer, who notes that Teddy the kind of dog with a lot of insecurity beneath his big personality. True to his herding-breed roots, Teddy likes to use his mouth, so continued training and clear boundaries are important. He will do best with an experienced, patient adopter who can provide a consistent routine, clear communication, and a “job” or structured outlet to help channel his energy. With the right guidance, structure, and commitment, Teddy has the potential to make great progress and become a rewarding companion for the right home. - Around 1-1.5 years old - Currently around 45lbs - Needs slow introductions with dogs and cats - Would do best in a home with kids 16+ - Adoption fee: $175 This dog is currently housed at our shelter.
