Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Susie is a beautiful Aussie mix. She is a 2 years old and is 70lbs. Susie is fearful when meeting new people and takes time to be comfortable. It may take multiple meet and greets for Susie. She would do best in a quiet house with a consistent routine. She does jump up on people when she is happy to see them. She loves to play with toys and other dogs her size with proper introduction. She does love to chew Nyla bones and antlers. She will bark when someone comes to the door and she sees things in the yard. She is housebroken and knows some basic commands. Susie is not good with cats. She is an active dog but calms down in the house. Susie would love a fenced in yard to play in. She will bark at things she sees when outside in the yard. She would not be good in an apartment. If you are interested in Susie fill out an application. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
Louie is a large, sweet, shy boy. He came in as a stray from Jamestown. He entered the rescue as a dog who tried to hide in the corner. Now he waits for a volunteer to hook him up to a leash for walks. He is great on leash. He has warmed up to the volunteers at the rescue. Still a bit nervous, but very interested in other dogs. He will require a patient person to continue to bring out his personality. Being a stray, we don't know if he is housetrained or crate trained. The pictures that you see are to give you an idea of what he would look like with Louie. He is waiting for that special person.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
**Meet Louie!**Louie is a 1½-year-old Staffordshire Terrier/Australian Shepherd mix with a heart that`s every bit as big as his smile. While he may take a little time to warm up to new people, those who earn his trust quickly discover what makes him so special. Louie isn`t the type of dog who gives his heart away to everyone—but once you`re in, you`re in for life.In his previous home, Louie lived with children and was deeply devoted to his family. He did wonderfully with his own human siblings, but as he matured, his Australian Shepherd instincts began to shine through during high-energy play with younger children who came over for playdates. The excitement of kids running, chasing, and playing would occasionally trigger his natural herding behaviors. Wanting to do what was best for both Louie and their family, his owners made the incredibly difficult and selfless decision to help him find a home that better fits his needs. Because of this, we think Louie would be happiest in a home with older children who are past the constant running and chasing stage of life.Once he settles in and feels safe, Louie`s playful personality absolutely comes to life. He loves romping around with his dog friends, chasing his favorite Kong Frisbee, and showing off his delightfully bouncy side. He`s also a champion lounger who is perfectly happy to curl up and relax after a day of fun.One of our favorite things about Louie is how much he loves to learn. He already knows commands like sit, shake, and down, and he`s incredibly treat motivated. Training isn`t just something Louie enjoys—it`s something that helps him feel confident. When he`s unsure about a new situation, asking him to perform a familiar cue helps him understand what`s expected of him and allows his confidence to blossom. Watching him realize, `Oh! I know how to do this!` is one of the sweetest things you`ll ever see.Louie is house trained, crate trained, and has done well both crated and free-roaming when left alone for shorter periods. On walks, he appreciates a patient handler who understands that unfamiliar situations can make him a little nervous. Once he`s comfortable with both his person and his routine, he becomes a wonderful walking companion. Because he can occasionally try to back out of unfamiliar situations, we`re currently walking him in a harness and sometimes using a second leash for added safety while he builds confidence.Louie absolutely adores other

Story
2-Year-Old Female Miniature Australian Shepherd Looking for Her Forever Home This sweet 2-year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd is looking for an active, patient home where she can thrive. She is incredibly intelligent, eager to learn, and has the energy and enthusiasm the breed is known for. She enjoys staying busy and will do best with owners who can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and continued training. She can be nervous around new people and unfamiliar situations, so she needs someone who understands that trust takes time. Once she feels comfortable, she is affectionate, loyal, and forms strong bonds with her people. She would be happiest in a calm home with experienced dog owners who appreciate the unique personality of her breed and are committed to helping her build confidence. With patience, consistency, and love, she has the potential to become an exceptional companion.

Story
Introducing Lucy, a.k.a Lucylu, Lulu and Loo's she is a super chill Australian Shepherd with one blue and one brown eye. She weighs approx 50 lbs. Shes 5 years old, absolutely loves kids, and her person. But she does not get along with other dogs. She MUST be the only dog in the house. I cannot stress that enough. She does not get along with my other dog and the other dog has been here 1st.Lucy will do best with an older adult who loves to cuddle. She would rather cuddle all day than play. She is very low energy for an aussie. She loves car rides, and walks. But thats about all the excercise she wants. She would prefer to stay at home than venture somewhere new. Her adopter must have a fenced yard.

Story
Meet Beau! He’s a 6-year-old blue merle Aussie, neutered, and one of the sweetest dogs you’ll meet. He loves belly rubs, wiggles his whole butt when he’s happy, and is a champ on a leash and loves sniff walks! Beau needs to be an only pet. This isn’t negotiable as he’s attacked our other dog multiple times, completely out of nowhere, and we’re worried it’ll end badly if we wait any longer. He’s been fine with kids before, but given how unpredictable he can be, we wouldn’t recommend him for a home with children. He’s surprisingly low-energy for an Aussie and happy to just chill. He does love fetch and going on errands where people can fuss over him. He’s terrified of thunder and fireworks (a calming wrap and a quiet basement help), and he will go after the blender or vacuum if you turn it on without a plan so it’s best to have someone take him outside or cover his ears when those are running. He takes meds daily. He’s a loving, goofy dog who just needs to be someone’s whole world.
