Story
Aspen is a very energetic dog. She has lived with my 2 year old, my golden retriever and a previous dog who passed for 9 years. Aspen has had a handful of times where she has gotten too territorial with other dogs and recently got out of the house and went after another dog for seemingly no reason. She either needs to be in a larger area where she can have more room to roam or be with a more experienced dog owner. She has never hurt anyone or another dog badly but it has become too many times where we are worried and want her to be with owners who can do more for her.

Story
We’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to rehome our two Australian Shepherds, Max and Cooper. They are brothers, best friends, they are 5 years old .After welcoming our newborn, we learned that our baby has significant allergies. We explored every option. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, it’s become clear that keeping Max and Cooper in our home isn’t safe for our child. This decision has nothing to do with them. They are loving, loyal, energetic, and everything you could ever want in dogs. Our only comfort is knowing that the right home is out there for them—ideally together—where they’ll get the attention, space, and love they deserve. If you’ve ever had to make a decision like this, you know it’s not made lightly. We ask for understanding, compassion, and help in sharing their story so they can land somewhere truly special.

Story
He won't trust you right away. But the moment he does — you'll have a friend for life. Auzzie is a two-year-old Australian Shepherd with eyes that stop you in your tracks and a loyalty that runs bone deep. He came into rescue a little guarded, a little unsure — because that's just who he is. He takes his time with strangers, watches before he warms up, and decides on his own terms whether you're worth trusting. It doesn't take long. But it has to be on his terms. And when he gets there? He is all in. Affectionate, devoted, and the kind of dog who will follow you from room to room just because being near you is his favorite place to be. Auzzie is active, intelligent, and wired to move — as any true Aussie is. He needs a home that understands that about him and embraces it. Long walks, outdoor adventures, room to run — he is not a couch-only kind of dog, and the right owner will love that about him. He does wonderfully with other dogs and cats, and thrives around adults who understand his nature and give him the patience he deserves. Due to his herding instincts, a home without young children is where he will truly flourish. It's not a flaw — it's just who he is, and the right home will get that completely. Auzzie is fully vetted and neutered, and he is so ready to stop waiting and start belonging somewhere permanent. He has so much love stored up for the person who takes the time to earn it.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Susie is a beautiful Aussie mix. She is a 2 years old and is 70lbs. Susie is fearful when meeting new people and takes time to be comfortable. It may take multiple meet and greets for Susie. She would do best in a quiet house with a consistent routine. She does jump up on people when she is happy to see them. She loves to play with toys and other dogs her size with proper introduction. She does love to chew Nyla bones and antlers. She will bark when someone comes to the door and she sees things in the yard. She is housebroken and knows some basic commands. Susie is not good with cats. She is an active dog but calms down in the house. Susie would love a fenced in yard to play in. She will bark at things she sees when outside in the yard. She would not be good in an apartment. If you are interested in Susie fill out an application. HDDCR requires a spay/neuter contract by the adopter if puppies and kittens in our care are too young for sterilization. This is a form the adopter signs at the time of adoption, confirming that they will get the pet spayed/neutered by a certain date. We will hold a $50 deposit on top of the adoption fee until we receive proof from a veterinarian that the dog was spayed/neutered. The $50 deposit will then be returned to the adopter.&#226&#128&#139 Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a    $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee    to change information.   Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost. Story
Sheila is an 8 year old mini Australian shepherd we got as a puppy in South Carolina. She is a very sweet, loving, energetic dog who loves kids. She is crate trained, but still has accidents inside of the home. She loves running around outside and being around people. Looking for a new home that can provide her space to run outside, play with children, and be loved. She thinks she’s a lap dog.

Story
I need to rehome both dogs together. They are siblings and very attached. I'm taking care of my elderly mother who has medical issues I don't have time for them. They are high energy dogs that need lots of room to run and it's unfair to keep them in a house all day with no activity.
