We purchased Mia 3 years ago as a puppy. We recently moved and she is not doing well with the change and is experiencing behavioral issues, anxiety and having lots of accidents in the house and in her crate. Our prior home had a large yard where she could run and burn off steam. We have a small yard and she doesn’t have much space to move around. She is an active breed; a mini Australian Shepherd, who would do better in a different environment. She gets along well with other pets and children.

Meet Elsie! 🐾 Elsie, a beautiful adult Australian Shepherd with one of the most striking features you'll ever see—her stunning two different-colored eyes! This sweet, friendly girl is looking for a patient family that will help her build her confidence and let her shine at her own pace. Elsie enjoys squeaky toys and is always happy to have one to play with. With a little time, encouragement, and lots of love, she's sure to become a devoted and loyal companion. If you're ready to help a wonderful dog blossom, Elsie is waiting to meet you! Update: Elsie is now in a foster home, where she has been doing great! In foster, She seems to be potty-trained, and within a couple days she got used to climbing up stairs. (Going back down is still a bit challenging). She's great on walks and does not pull. She is still a little nervous outside, but is gaining confidence with every walk, and she now comfortably walks for about 30 minutes at a time. Inside the house, Elsie always wants to be in the same room as her foster mom, finding a comfortable corner to sleep and relax. Her personality is beginning to come through, with mealtime zoomies, and greeting her foster mom with tail-wagging in the morning! Elsie's playful and active self should come out more and more over time in a loving, calm and patient home. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs if you already have a dog.
