Story
Edwin originally came to us as a transfer from another shelter and is now on the search for a home to call his own. This handsome all-black mixed breed is still young and full of energy, which means he is looking for someone who can keep up with his active and adventurous lifestyle. Edwin would love a home with plenty of space to explore and enjoy the outdoors. If you have more land than you know what to do with and want a loyal companion to hang outside with you while you grill, relax in the sun, or just enjoy the fresh air, Edwin might be your perfect match. He truly enjoys being outside and would happily spend half the day soaking up the sunshine before heading inside to rest and recharge with his person. Edwin would do best as the only pet in the home, though he is not opposed to meeting potential canine siblings. He can be a bit particular about his friends, so any introductions would need to be taken slowly and there is no guarantee they will meet his high standards. Edwin would also prefer an adult-only home where he can feel comfortable and settled. This 55-pound chaotic teen is looking for someone who is passionate about training and has the time and patience to help him continue learning and growing. In return, Edwin will offer plenty of personality, companionship, and loyalty to the person willing to invest in him. If you are looking for a fun, energetic outdoor buddy who is just as happy relaxing with you after a long day, Edwin is ready to meet you.

Story
Jake the Great is finally here! This animated boy is 3 years old, a tall 55-lbs, and enjoys nothing more than some playtime, long walks, and cuddles on the sofa. Jake did not get off to a great start in life, and by no fault of his own ended up at a Scioto County shelter before being scooped up by PAWS. He is ready for his big break with his forever family. He has no known health issues and has been quick to learn how to be alone in the house when his foster parents are out and about. House trained, learning how leashes and walks work, but maybe a little impatient with dinner, Jake has matured into a more confident gentleman. He is good with cats and dogs and especially appreciates having somebody that can help him work through some of his boundless energy. His next family should be ready to be patient with the goofball. He needs daily exercise and has trouble walking across smooth hardwood floors with his giraffe-like legs. Jake is available to meet and greet at the many PAWS events!  Every PAWS dog is loved, vetted, and ready for a fresh start March 8, 2026, 11:18 pm

Story
Loki is a very active and fun dog. And knows basic commands; hard for him to sit long. He is way to playful for our 9yr pug and 15 yr okd cat. My son wanted Loki, but ended up not having time to really spend with him. We have tried having him in our home, but just to crazy with our older animals. We have taken him to a dog park and hasn't done well there, but better training maybe be OK. He did take a few months to get use to us. He is crate trained, but we use it when we are not at home, because he does like to find things to tear up. He sleeps on our bed at night and does well through the night. Overall, he is a good dog, just needs someone that is active and can doing better training with him. He loves to play ball, makes good ice breaker to get to know him.

Story
Meet Bronco! If you're looking for a handsome adventure buddy with a fluffy coat and a big personality, Bronco might be your guy.Bronco is an almost 3-year-old, 56-pound Australian Shepherdtype mix who combines good looks with an affectionate and playful personality. His previous owner listed him as an Australian Shepherd, and while he may be a mix (we wouldnt be surprised if theres a little Golden Retriever or another herding breed in there), he definitely shares that breeds intelligence, energy, and love of being involved with his people.Bronco enjoys walks, exploring outdoors, and riding in the car where he settles in nicely for the trip. He is house-trained, walks well on a leash, and already knows how to sit especially when treats are involved! Like many smart dogs, hes very treat-motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding.During his recent photo session, Bronco showed both sides of his personality. He was a little shy at first, but it didnt take long before he warmed up running right over to one of our volunteers for pets and attention as if they were old friends. Once he feels comfortable, his affectionate side really shines.Bronco loves being part of the action and bonds closely with his people. He would do best in a home where he gets plenty of companionship, exercise, and things to keep his clever mind busy. Because he has enthusiasm for life, he would likely thrive in a house with space to play rather than an apartment, and while he enjoys kids, his energy may be best suited for families with older children.Bronco can get along with other dogs, though like many dogs he can be a bit selective about his friends, preferring dogs whose personalities match his play style. Cats are not his thing. With the right family who appreciates an active, intelligent dog, Bronco will be a loyal companion and enthusiastic partner for adventures big and small.Apply at www.caninecollective.org

Story
Meet Wynetta 💕 Wynetta is a spirited, high energy girl who is ready to find a family that can keep up with her enthusiasm for life. Found as a stray, she hasn’t let her past define her and is focused on all the exciting adventures ahead. She is incredibly sweet and loves being around her people. Wynetta can get a little jumpy when she is excited because she just has so much love to share. For that reason, she would do best in a home with children over 12 who can handle her enthusiastic greetings. With consistency and positive reinforcement, she is going to thrive. She is already spayed and ready to head home with her forever family. Wynetta is eager to learn and ready for training, structure, and plenty of exercise. Long walks, hikes, playtime, and learning new tricks will help her shine. She is looking for someone who will channel her energy in positive ways and enjoy having a fun, active companion by their side. If you are searching for a loyal, energetic best friend who will keep you smiling and, on your toes, Wynetta may be the perfect match for you 💗

Story
Jada is roughly 12 years old. I adopted her when she was about 2 years old. She is a great, loyal dog. I had her professionally trained in 2018. She is extremely playful and treat motivated. She loves being outdoors and exploring. She would thrive best in a home without children or other pets. My husband and I are searching for a home for her where she will have an exceptional quality of life during her final years.
