Story
Meet Darcie! Darcie is a 4.5-year-old Australian Shepherd who is a sweet and gentle girl looking for a very special home where she can take things at her own pace. She came to us from a difficult situation and is extremely shut down, so she will need a patient adopter who understands that building trust and confidence will take time. The good news is that Darcie is trying! In her foster home, she has been making small but meaningful steps forward as she learns what it means to feel safe and comfortable. She will need someone willing to celebrate those little victories and give her the time and space she needs to continue coming out of her shell. Darcie is not going to be the dog who immediately runs up looking for attention, but with patience, consistency, and a quiet home, we hope she will continue to discover how wonderful life can be. She does well with cats and would love a person willing to let her progress at her own pace. If you think you could be the patient, understanding home Darcie needs, she may be the perfect match for you. 💙

Story
Irwin has been with us for a little over a year now. We have been working on some behavioral issues, getting him ready for a forever home. We believe that Irwin is ready to find a home with someone or a family experienced with Border Collies, Aussies or another herding breed. Irwin has lots of energy and needs to have a purpose, a job or anything that keeps him busy. Irwin would not do well with apartment living. He needs his space to be Irwin. Irwin is VERY selective on the dogs he likes and will not do well in a home with cats. If you are interested in meeting this handsome boy and speaking to our staff that has been working with him, please fill out an online application. Once the application is approved, we will contact you to schedule a visit.

Story
Meet Sting 🖤Sting is a 4–5 year old Australian Shepherd mix weighing about 64 pounds who is quietly learning that life can be kind. He came to us from a hoarding situation, and while he has already made wonderful progress, the world is still a new and sometimes overwhelming place for him. Sting is a shy, timid boy with an incredibly sweet nature. Everyone who meets him says the same thing — this dog doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He simply needs a little time and patience to feel safe and understand what it means to be part of a family.Because of his background, Sting is still figuring out how to “be a dog.” One thing we've already learned about him, though — he absolutely loves the ladies! He takes comfort in gentle voices and calm companionship. We believe Sting would thrive in a home with a confident, friendly dog who can help show him the ropes and give him reassurance as he continues to blossom.Recently, one of our volunteers experienced a breakthrough with Sting. Instead of taking a treat and retreating to a safe spot as he often does, Sting chose to stay nearby. He ate his treat right in front of her, then gently licked her hand before walking away. It may seem like a small moment, but for Sting, it was a huge step—and a glimpse of the loving dog waiting beneath his cautious exterior. The best part about dogs like Sting is what happens once they learn to trust. When you earn his heart, you'll gain a deeply loyal companion who will quietly adore his person. The journey may take a little longer, but dogs like Sting have a way of making every milestone feel special.Sting is already crate trained and potty trained, and he's ready to continue his journey in a patient home that understands that the most special dogs sometimes just need a little extra time. A confident dog in the home is a must for Sting's success. He is currently available for foster or foster-to-adopt, giving someone the chance to help this sweet boy continue discovering how good life can be. Apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Artie is loyal dog. He likes to play but also enjoys laying around and be lazy. He’s attune to all noises and movements and doesn’t do well with kids in his space. He may bark and nip at them if they get too close. He has the tendency to resource guard his food sometimes. The kitchen exhaust fan scares him but he’ll ignore it for a piece of cheese.Artie is trained and knows basic commands. Hes very smart. He goes to doggy daycare regularly so he is good with other dogs. He is also has a cat sister and wants to chase and play her when she allows it. He’s a great running partner.Artie is a great friend, loyal, affectionate to the people he trusts, and full of character. He would do best in a home that understands his personality and gives him the space and comfort to truly flourish.Artie is 2.5 years old and his birthday is November 13th. Up to date on his shots and is neutered.

Story
Jada is roughly 12 years old. I adopted her when she was about 2 years old. She is a great, loyal dog. I had her professionally trained in 2018. She is extremely playful and treat motivated. She loves being outdoors and exploring. She would thrive best in a home without children or other pets. My husband and I are searching for a home for her where she will have an exceptional quality of life during her final years.
