Story
Gypsy is a two year old 45 lb female who looks like an Australian Shepherd mix. Our girl was very shy when she first came to Canine Collective but as she gets used to the routine and people she realizes this is a safe place. She recently went for a trail walk with a volunteer and loved it. She's a sweet girl that knows how to sit. If Gypsy sounds like she could be part of your family, apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Basil (pronounced 'Bay-Sil' like the herb, not the British pronunciation) Gender: Female Age: 2 years and 9 months Current Weight: 40 lbs Expected Adult Size: Medium (25-50 lbs) Breed: Miniature American Shepherd/Border Collie/German Shepherd mix Energy Level: Medium-High Dog Friendly: No, and cannot live with other dogs. Basil plays very well with the two other dogs she lives with, but is occasionally aggressive with the smaller one. She is also very anxious and fearful around new dogs and this presents as reactivity that can be aggressive. She does some resource-guarding with other animals but not people. Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: Yes, any age Apartment Friendly: Unknown Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence required, any height Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Likes: Basil loves playing frisbee, running off-leash in contained areas away from other dogs, peanut butter, Trader Joe's maple/pumpkin/bacon "Stuffies" that come out every fall, sleeping on the couch or in bed, getting morning and evening snuggles (she's very affectionate), and swimming. She also loves belly and ear rubs and being outside in the sun and 'hunting' for squirrels/rabbits as much as possible. Dislikes: She gets car sick (so usually don't feed her before long car rides) and has some minor separation anxiety when left alone. She also has a natural prey drive and is not a big fan of squirrels and bunnies. Ideal Home/Adopter: Basil would do so well as the only dog in a home with more than one person; she would thrive having other people and kids to play with and who would throw the frisbee for her. She is also used to having someone home most of the time and love the idea of her having an adult who works from home or is a stay-at-home parent. What makes this dog special: Basil is truly the most beautiful dog we have ever met and she is so athletic and smart and good-natured with people. She loves to run and play and has learned how to catch the frisbee (her favorite thing). Basil's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Basil, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##1669708##

Story
Meet Patches! This handsome fellow is full of spirit and love, and he's ready to find his forever home. Patches loves people and is looking for his new person - could it be you? Patches is a playful pup who enjoys a good game of fetch and tug-o-war. He'll often drop a toy in your lap to suggest a game. He also loves to collect all his tennis balls into a pile in the backyard. But Patches is more than just a playmate; he's also a great companion. If you need to leave Patches at home for a bit, no worries! He's pretty chill and will settle in for a nice, snuggly nap while he waits for you to get home. Patches has a funny little habit of crossing his front paws when he lays down, giving him a very stately and serious look - not particularly fitting for his rather goofy personality! This social guy enjoys making dog friends too! He brings the party to playgroup, and has done well with other dogs in the past. If you're looking for a loving companion or a dog to play with for hours on end, come meet Patches! He'll show you just how special he is.
