Story
Meet Sting 🖤Sting is a 4–5 year old Australian Shepherd mix weighing about 64 pounds who is quietly learning that life can be kind. He came to us from a hoarding situation, and while he has already made wonderful progress, the world is still a new and sometimes overwhelming place for him. Sting is a shy, timid boy with an incredibly sweet nature. Everyone who meets him says the same thing — this dog doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. He simply needs a little time and patience to feel safe and understand what it means to be part of a family.Because of his background, Sting is still figuring out how to “be a dog.” One thing we've already learned about him, though — he absolutely loves the ladies! He takes comfort in gentle voices and calm companionship. We believe Sting would thrive in a home with a confident, friendly dog who can help show him the ropes and give him reassurance as he continues to blossom.Recently, one of our volunteers experienced a breakthrough with Sting. Instead of taking a treat and retreating to a safe spot as he often does, Sting chose to stay nearby. He ate his treat right in front of her, then gently licked her hand before walking away. It may seem like a small moment, but for Sting, it was a huge step—and a glimpse of the loving dog waiting beneath his cautious exterior. The best part about dogs like Sting is what happens once they learn to trust. When you earn his heart, you'll gain a deeply loyal companion who will quietly adore his person. The journey may take a little longer, but dogs like Sting have a way of making every milestone feel special.Sting is already crate trained and potty trained, and he's ready to continue his journey in a patient home that understands that the most special dogs sometimes just need a little extra time. A confident dog in the home is a must for Sting's success. He is currently available for foster or foster-to-adopt, giving someone the chance to help this sweet boy continue discovering how good life can be. Apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Irwin has been with us for a little over a year now. We have been working on some behavioral issues, getting him ready for a forever home. We believe that Irwin is ready to find a home with someone or a family experienced with Border Collies, Aussies or another herding breed. Irwin has lots of energy and needs to have a purpose, a job or anything that keeps him busy. Irwin would not do well with apartment living. He needs his space to be Irwin. Irwin is VERY selective on the dogs he likes and will not do well in a home with cats. If you are interested in meeting this handsome boy and speaking to our staff that has been working with him, please fill out an online application. Once the application is approved, we will contact you to schedule a visit.

Dog's Name: Chassis Gender: Female Current Age: 3 years old Current Weight: 50 lbs Breed: Australian Shepherd Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Dog selective Cat Friendly: NA Kids: Yes Apartment Friendly: No Fence Requirements:  Preferred so she can get those laps in Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home / Adopter: Chassis would thrive with an adopter who appreciates her smart, loyal Aussie personality (and maybe herding habits) and will enjoy keeping her engaged while giving her all the love she deserves. She is super food motivated so training will be a breeze. Likes: Chassis’ favorite song on Olivia Rodrigo’s latest album is definitely honeybee. Coincidentally, that’s also her favorite Blake Shelton song. In lieu of a herd of sheep, this girl goes Gaga for bees. Dislikes: storms are a hard no for her and she appreciates the safety of her crate during bad weather, who can blame her! Chassis is a smart, loving Aussie girl with a soft spot for flowers, bees, and being wherever her people are! This medium-energy sweetheart is potty and crate trained, knows basic commands, and is always ready to learn when treats are involved. She’s dog selective and has some herding dog tendencies, but with her loyal personality and love for adventure, Chassis is ready to buzz right into her forever home. All adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea prevention, and current heartworm prevention. Dogs over six months of age are heartworm tested prior to adoption. If you're interested in adopting, please complete an application at rescuedohio.org. Once approved, a meet-and-greet can be scheduled. ##2677186##

Story
We are located in Plain City, OH and have a healthy Aussie beagle mix named Milo who is around 5/6 years old. We rescued him from Franklin County Shelter. We have a one year old in the house and are expecting another in February 2027. Milo seems very unhappy with this new life change. We also aren’t able to exercise him like we used to. Due to his energy/herding nature and lack of exercise he is very cooped up and stressed. We also have a Great Dane in the home who our Aussie has not been getting along with recently. As Milo has gotten older he has made it clear that he is not fond of other dogs and thrives in a home when it is just him. We love our Aussie (Milo) but feel he would be much happier in a home with no kids or other animals that has a fenced in backyard where he can get his exercise out. I would love to continue to be apart of his life and help with any vet bills or anything at all that new owners may need help with in the future.

These pups are in Powell, Ohio too!

Story
Hey there, I'm Van. I am a 55 pound border collie lab mix, and about a year and a half old. I'm a pretty big guy and still have lots of puppy energy, but I am calming down a bit! I am very sweet and great with everyone. I love kids but because I am big and energetic, I probably shouldn't live with small children. I also love to learn so I would be a great dog for someone wanting to do agility, sports or even running with me. Hurry up and apply for me. I look forward to meeting you! Every PAWS dog is loved, vetted, and ready for a fresh start August 19, 2026, 9:41 am
