This sweet girl is full of love and affection and she loves to cuddle! She is energetic and loves attention and loves to play! She gets along great with other dogs but cannot be around cats. She is a happy girl who loves to play fetch and chase her toys. She is a very smart girl who is eager to please and learns fast but she can get bored easily so she would be great for a family or an active home. Dakota is a sweet Mini Australian Shepherd who needs a family that can provide more love than we are able to at this point. Dakota loves a task to do and being active. We took Dakota in from a puppy mill when she was 6 months old and have done the best we could to get her trained, but unfortunately my wife and I have travelled so much for work that we have never been able to instill that strong foundation Dakota needs. She has great name recall and is able to do all of the basic commands, but she is not great walking on a leash and is very barky when she sees another dog. Dakota would need to be in a house where she is the only pet and there are no little kids. A few months ago Dakota got defensive and bit my wife and as we are expecting a newborn, we need to find Dakota a new family.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Lincoln! He is a very high energy, active and sweet 2-year-old, 40 lb Australian Shepherd. He is a happy boy and loves to get attention from his people! He will do great with a family that understands herding dogs and their needs. He can be strong willed and is still working on basic obedience and will need a family that will continue his training. He is working on not jumping up and mouthing right now so he needs an adult only home or a home with kids over 14. He is super sweet, but he has a lot of happy and unfocused energy. He is very smart and will thrive with training. He would love to be in a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play. He will do best in a home where someone is home much of the time. He likes other dogs but can play very rough with them and would rather spend time with his humans so for that reason we are looking for a home for him as an only dog or with another dog who is able to handle his rough play. He will need an adopter that will keep him physically and mentally active and would make a great jogging or adventure buddy. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Sweet Poppy came to us as an owner surrender due to no fault of her owner. Her family needed to downsize to an apartment and it was not a suitable environment for her. Poppy is very active and needs to be in a freestanding home with a yard outside of the city. She is a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd. Her previous owner describes her as the sweetest angel who will give you all of her love and loves to cuddle. She is fully house trained and won’t potty inside if she is on a routine schedule. She is an active girl who loves to go on walks, running and hiking. She will need an adopter who is active and will keep up on her exercise. She loves to play with squeaky toys. She is also playful and loves other dogs and would do well with another dog friend in the home or could do well by herself as long as she continues to be socialized with other dogs. She is a beautiful girl and will need to be routinely brushed out. She was shaved in the past but should not be shaved again, just regular grooming for this girl. She has a high prey drive so no small animals in the home with her. She has a cat in the home before but cannot be left unattended with them, so we are recommending no cats for her. She can be a flight risk and a runner so she will need to be leashed when outside and not left unattended in the yard. Poppy is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $550.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Fury! He is a 9-year-old, 55 lb Blue Merle AKC registered Australian Shepherd who was surrendered to us as his owner could no longer care for him. Fury loves to be petted, pampered and groomed. He likes to play by himself with soccer balls and plushie toys, he tosses then around and chases them independently. He loves to lounge in the sunshine. Fury would like to find himself his very own retirement home where he can be an only dog with his own securely fenced yard to relax in during the day, and a cozy kennel at night. He would do best in a home where he can be the only pet. He walks well on a leash for the most part but can be leash reactive and he does not care for other male dogs or dogs who get in his face on leash. He will lunge at cars that pass by as his herding breed instinct takes over. For this reason, he would do best in a quiet suburban or rural neighborhood. He’s been gentle with the young child in his previous home under supervision but nips at the butts of anyone who runs next to him so it is recommended that he goes to an adult only home or with children over 12. When feeding time comes around, he acts as if he is going to be food aggressive/possessive by growling and sounding scary but is really just a marshmallow with no follow through. Fury is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $350.
