INTELLIGENT. SWEET. PLAYFUL. Nova was found as a stray by one of our volunteers and no owner stepped forward. Seeing that sweet, wrinkly face, how could we say no? Since being in our care, she has thrived with love, proper nutrition and even professional training. Nova needs to be your one and only queen of the castle (as she deserves!), as she is a bit more of an independent spirit. Our volunteers and staff love her; they describe her as a sweet, playful and smart. She loves going for walks, taking car rides and running after tennis balls and frisbees. As a professionally-trained dog, Nova has excellent leash and door manners, mastered crate- and potty-training and knows basic commands. Her independent nature makes her a perfect pup for someone who may not be home as often, as she does well hanging out quietly at home. Nova’s adoption fee includes her completed veterinary exams, vaccines, spay and microchip. Apply now to meet this sweet, intelligent girl who is sure to steal your heart! Story
Three years ago, Munch was found as a puppy on the streets and ended up in the shelter system early on. After being adopted for years, he was attacked in his last home by larger dogs, which resulted in him being returned to the shelter. After eight long months of being overlooked in the shelter, he was put on the euthanasia list. We could't let his story end there, so we stepped up to save him. Since being with his foster, Munch has finally gotten a taste of the good life. He has received [and shown] so much love! He is energetic, eager to please and curious about everything. He will happily ride in the car with you or be a couch potato snuggle bug while you watch your favorite movie. This boy is such the perfect gentleman in the home! Munch is crate- and potty-trained and likes a quieter household with a consistent routine. He loves to play with toys and people. He is food-motivated, responds well to redirection and loves all the training he's working on. He's intimidated by larger dogs and often scared of loud noises, though he's learning that everything is okay. His ideal home would be one without young children, and if he has any doggy siblings, they need to be smaller than him. Munch is an affectionate, silly goof of a dog who just wants to enjoy a life by your side - whether that’s getting pets on the couch or playing a game of fetch! His adoption fee includes his completed veterinary exams, vaccines, microchip and neuter. Apply below to meet this playful pup who will surely win you over with his big grin and happy wiggle! Story
Thomas came to the rescue from the county shelter’s euthanasia list in August of 2023. He was in a severely neglected state to the point where he couldn’t even stand up because he was so underweight and in so much pain. Worse, he was also battling severe pneumonia due to having such a weakened immune system. Under the care of our medical team, poor Thomas underwent an MRI, CT scan, additional bloodwork and x-rays. After all the diagnostics he was diagnosed with rampant valley fever that had taken over his body and fungal osteomyelitis that was attacking his bones as a result. Thankfully, this condition is entirely treatable but has resulted in a longer road to recovery for Thomas. He has overcome his pneumonia and put on much-needed weight. And while his body is still fighting the Valley Fever, Thomas’ quality of life has only continued to improve. He adores his foster home. He now loves to lay between his foster parents’ legs and even will wear pajamas to bed! He also enjoys the company of other dogs and cats, though he definitely wants to spend time snuggling with his people the most. He is house-trained, walks well on a leash and has started learning basic obedience. Thomas’ ideal home would be a quieter household without children and with someone home often who wouldn’t mind going on shorter strolls as he is a bit slower and stiffer when he moves. His long term care will include ongoing Valley Fever treatment. His Valley Fever is not contagious to other humans or pets, but he will need a family committed to continuing his medications and 3-6 month monitoring. We will provide these rechecks and cover the cost of the medications through our foster-to-adopt program. While Thomas loves being in his current foster home, he would love even more to find his forever family. Apply to meet Thomas, the special little engine that could and DID, who is now ready to thrive with a family to call his own! To apply: https://lovethemallrescue.org/thomas-1

Story
Freddie is ready to be your forever buddy! At 6 years old, Freddie is the epitome of a true gentleman. He would love to spend his time hiking, cuddling, and laying on the couch! Freddie is one of the easiest dogs in our rescue and our LONGEST resident, simply because he is a fluffy poodle. He is one of our most people and dog-friendly dogs. No cats. Freddie's "gentleman status" has been well-maintained, but he does need someone willing to continue his training and set him up for success on a leash, (he has a history of cat reactivity). With the proper guidance, Freddie is sure to be an all-star! While Freddie does well with kids, we do not adopt any of our dogs out to people with young children (under 15), for the safety of our dogs. If you're interested in learning more about Freddie? Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Poppy is a Beagle mix. She may be around 5 years old or so. We’re not sure. She came into foster 2 years ago after being pulled from the euthanasia list at County. She was going to be euthanized for biting a volunteer who mishandled her. She has not even so much growled at her foster family. She’s very skidding, but she’s learned to trust so much more since she was brought into the rescue. She was terrified of everyone & everything. She’s been in a foster home with other dogs, but she really should be an only dog. She seems terrified of the other dogs often, but she will get into a scuffle with them out of fear, so she should be an only dog. She also seems to really want to get closer and snuggle more with her foster mom, but with all the other dogs she really is too scared to. She’ll sneak up when the other dogs aren’t around, but she’ll take off when the other dogs come around. Poppy has been in a house with cats, and she doesn’t seem interested in them. She doesn’t bark, growl, sniff or stare at them. They have always been kept separated, but can see each other. If you have a cat, I would be careful on the introduction and not leave them alone together until you are positive they will be safe. Poppy could really use some basic training. She is terrified of the leash & even having a collar. Her foster thinks she was dragged on a leash & that was when she bit the person at County. It will take patience and time to help her with this. She uses the doggy door. She’ll also hold it, if she’s locked in while the landscaper or pool person is at the foster’s house. She has never had an accident at the foster family’s home. She’s very gentle when taking a treat. She’s used to free feeding and she doesn’t fight over food (resource guarding). She will actually sit back and wait to eat after others eat. She’s also patient to wait for her treats. The foster taught her to sit for treats. She will wait in a seated position until her turn. Poppy is super sweet and just needs a chance to be an only dog and be spoiled rotten

Maximus and his brother Onyx were both surrendered due to the owners losing their home. Maximus does very well when crated. He has had no accidents indoors yet. Maximus loves to play with other dogs. He does tend to resource guard his food and any treats, but he has shared his toys well. He definitely has alpha dog energy! lol.

Story
When we first saw Bonnie, a 5-6 year-old Boxer, she was lying quietly in her county shelter kennel. Her breathing was labored, but even through the struggle, she lifted her eyes to meet ours. In that look was a quiet desperation, a plea not to be forgotten. We rushed her to the ER, where she spent days fighting pneumonia—and winning. Today, Bonnie has blossomed into a joyful, affectionate companion. She makes us laugh with her goofy ways and charms everyone with her soulful, beautiful face. Like many aging pups, she does have arthritis that slows her down at times, but with medication she’s comfortable—and her zest for life shines through every single day. No senior dog should ever be left behind in a shelter. Bonnie has too much love, too much heart, to spend her final years without a family of her own. She deserves a home where she can rest her head knowing she is safe, wanted, and deeply loved. If your heart is open to giving Bonnie the forever home she so deserves, please fill out an adoption application at skysanctuaryrescue.org/applications. She’s ready to give you all the love she’s been waiting to share.

Story
Meet Casper — the handsome goofball with a heart as big as his smile. His journey to happiness hasn’t exactly been a walk in the park. He first found himself in isolation at the Humane Society, battling pneumonia. Once in our care, we learned he also had Brachycephalic Airway Syndrome, which made every breath a struggle and left him vulnerable to aspiration pneumonia. But Casper? He’s no quitter. After a successful airway surgery, he’s breathing easy and finally able to live life like every dog should—full of tail wags, zoomies, and sunshine naps. Of course, healing isn’t just about the body—it’s about the heart, too. Casper is currently enrolled in a Board & Train program with our friends at Paddock Paws, learning to build trust, confidence, and calm. Early in training, we discovered Casper is hard of hearing, which explained so much about his past anxieties. With hand signals, a dash of patience, and a whole lot of love, Casper has been absolutely thriving. This boy is a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs—he lights up around his canine pals and will happily join in playtime shenanigans. He’s equal parts goofy entertainer and cuddle connoisseur: one minute making you laugh with his silly antics, the next melting into your lap for snuggles. Casper is ready for a forever family who will embrace him for exactly who he is—unique, resilient, and overflowing with love. If that sounds like you, apply today at skysanctuaryrescue.org/adopt. We can’t wait for you to meet this special boy.
