This handsome 19-month-old boy is all ears and ready for his forever home!  Maximus enjoys playing with other dogs, so a home with canine playmates or an active home where he can socialize with other dogs would be perfect. He would make a great trail or hiking companion as he has tons of energy’ He is currently fostered 3 other dogs about his size. ( 45-50lbs) Maximus has been around older kids 10+, He has shown no aggression so likely would be good with younger kids with supervision. Maximus is dog door trained and trustworthy loose in the house, He could benefit from basic obedience and leash skills. He is a little overly interested in cats, he loves to bark at them! Qi, sweet and shy fawn 2 year old spayed female. She will get to know you, and once she does, she’s all about the kisses and cuddles. Nova found herself in a southern Arizona shelter as a stray, but this girl clearly had lived in a home. She walks well on a leash, will jump into the back seat of a is potty & crate trained. She rides well in the car. Nova is timid around large barky dogs, preferring to avoid and pancake ground. With calm friendly dogs, she tolerated sniffs and doesn't mind being nearby at all (happy to go on a group walk), but so far hasn't shown interest in playing with other dogs. She does have some interest in toys and loves a good treat. She takes treats very gently, and while timid with strangers, allows petting. Her first reaction with new scary things or people is to run and hide, not agression or growling. We haven't heard her back at all yet. Nova is about 33 pounds, but needs to gain some weight. She has current vaccines, but we need to have her checked to see if she is spayed (and spay her, if not). Nova is fostering in Tucson.May 6, 2024, 9:00 pm

Freddie is one of the most balanced dogs in our rescue and our longest resident. Extremely people and dog-friendly. He does great with other dogs. No cats. Freddie's "gentleman status" has been well-maintained, but he does need someone willing to continue his training and set him up for success on leash, (he has a history of cat reactivity on leash). With the proper guidance, Freddie is sure to be an all-star! While these Pup Stars may not be able to carry much of a tune, they certainly still know how to steal the show! Good Samaritans took in mama Adele after they found her pregnant and wandering an industrial park. While awaiting her intake appointment at the county shelter, mama gave birth to 11 beautiful babies in the finder's home. After no owner was found, they were then transferred to the shelter where they had difficulty finding foster placement due to the pet overpopulation crisis we are facing here in Phoenix. One day, LTA's founder was at the shelter with her daughter while saving another dog who was scheduled for euthanasia. The shelter staff asked to show them this adorable family who was desperately in need of rescue. Our founder's daughter laid eyes on mama and those [then] three-week-old pups, and that was that. Two days later, all 12 precious lives were safe with us here at LTA. Like any pop star, these pups put on quite a show with their adorable antics. We could watch them playfully pounce and roll around on their little round bellies all day long. And bias aside, these Pup Stars have the perfect personalities -- all thanks to their mama Adele who is sweet as pie, dog-friendly and a total dream girl. The entire family plays nicely (with added puppy flair, of course) with people, children, and other dogs. These 12 precious lives would fit into any amazing home looking to help them become the best lifelong companions we know they can be. Each Pup Star's adoption fee includes their completed veterinary exams and pending microchips, spay/neuters and complete vaccine schedules. All dogs (mama included) are currently available on foster-to-adopts only until all medical has been completed (and covered) by us. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required once the application process is complete and you have been selected. The adoption can become official after each dog is altered. We do require that fosters crate and potty train, as well as work on basic commands. We know if they learn young, you will have a lifetime with a well-behaved dog!
