Let's hear it for Johnny Cash! This "Man in Black" is looking for his forever home. He would be super excited if it included another dog and added bonus if her name was June.  He is fostering with 3 other shar pei and gets along great with everyone. He is completely house trained and is past all the puppy antics of chewing and destroying your house. This boy has none of the shar pei issues of bad ears, bad skin and bad eyes! I mean seriously who doesn't love a shar pei that isn't at the vet on a weekly basis.  This guy is on zero meds! Have that shar pei allergy to the horse coats this guy would be perfect. No prickly hairs on this guy! JC's foster reports that he loves kisses and he missed the part in the shar pei description of being aloof...he loves cuddles. His foster family has a dog door which he takes full advantage of by spending time sunning himself next to the pool.  Swimming isn't really his jam but he is a shar pei after all so that shouldn't be shocking. He does live with Guinea Pigs so we are guessing he would be fine with dog experienced felines. He is totally fine being left alone in the house so no issues with separation anxiety with this guy. Jackson is a mature guy who is looking for a forever home to land. He loves hanging with his family especially women but does have a little stranger danger so would not recommend a home with lots of people in and out on a daily basis or if everything else sounds amazing about this boy a home that would take some time to do good intro's with new people! This boy has had some run in's with the resident male so a home as an only dog or one that would allow him to be the top dog is recommended. He loves going for walks and would be a great hiking or camping companion but if Jackson is honest he is totally fine hanging at home with his peeps. He can be left loose while you are at work but he also will crawl into his crate if left to his own devices. He will need a good quality food to keep his coat shiny and healthy. Meet Gator a chunky 46 lb hunk of love! We promise he is not an alligator in shar pei clothing! This boy loves himself the lady dogs, especially a feisty female shar pei. He can play all day with his lady then cuddle or whatever you like to call it all night long.  He has been neutered and had entropion surgery. He was left with some cloudiness in both eyes, but it has improved dramatically with eye drops, which should not be needed long term. He loves people and puts his name to good use with his shar pei nibbles. This guy has a gorgeous brush coat so no worries on those pesky allergies people get with those prickly horse coats! He crates well but is totally trustworthy in the house. He hasn't even given a shoe or a piece of furniture the side eye! He loves car rides.  He was born with a not so great hip and a bum knee. Knee surgery revealed that a repair wasn't in the cards. But here is the good news: Gator has no idea he is broken. He runs around like any young Shar-pei. He is on no pain medications or special regimine. We explored the idea of a knee brace to delay any eventual injury, but that was deferred because at this time, he just acts like a normal happy dog. He is very typically of most shar pei and has scoffed the idea of training. He sits when he feels like it and immediately goes deaf when asked to stay or come.  Our feeling is this guy is not going to win a nobel prize but when you have his good looks who really needs brains. Magoo is just about the happiest guy on the planet. He was found by a good samaritan wandering the streets of Phoenix which in the middle of this heat wave is almost a death sentence. They quickly scooped him up and took him home. He has lived with kidddos and other dogs and just keeps smiling at this good luck! He has been seen by our vet and been neutered and had his horrible eyes fixed! His foster reports he is even happier now that he isn't running into walls! He loved everyone at the vets office and was very well behaved with being poked and prodded. This boy is now fostering with 5 other shar pei and he is the goofiest boy ever! If he was an actor he would be an Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey. He is super happy and loves to be the life of the party. He will try to get even the crurmudgeons to play with him. He loves his food and super treat motivated. He can be easily entertained with a good bone or Kong. He won't be found very far from the action whether that is playing or sleeping. He loves being a part of everything. He rides great in the car. He has been working on his crate skills but lets be honest he doesn't love it. He will bark but eventually settle down but why put "baby in the corner" when he can be out and about shining, being heard and loved! Meet Indigo Take a moment to meet Indigo, our charming two-year-old, spayed female Shar-Pei who tips the scales at a whooping 34 lbs. She has had her cherry eye and entropion repair.   This girl will quickly win you over with her pei grumbles and whines. Overflowing with happiness and love, she's guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. You'll often find Indigo right next to you, curled up on her bed or laying contentedly by your feet. She has an adorable penchant for scritches and pats - you'll see her whole body wag with sheer joy when showered with affection!   She quickly learned her name and responds brilliantly to clicks, snaps, and is picking up on basic commands like "come here" and "let's go outside."  She loves exploring the yard, basking in the sun, and gently playing with a tennis ball or tug rope which showcases her playful side. She is an enthusiast for forehead rubs and won't hesitate to rest her head on your hand or leg to get one. Her love for humans is undeniable and heartwarmingly genuine.   Her activity level is perfectly typical for a Shar-Pei. Indigo is as happy trotting in the park as she is napping while you indulge in a Netflix marathon.   Searching for Her Perfect Home She warms up to anyone she meets, including school-age children. Currently, she's fostering well with a same-age female Shar-Pei, and they're getting along wonderfully. While Indigo is sociable with other dogs, her youthful energy might be a bit too much for an older dog who prefers a tranquil lifestyle or she may bring out the youth in your middle aged lazy pup.   She hasn't shown any aggression towards the resident cat in her foster home, but she'd probably be happiest in a cat-free environment. She loves that her foster family mostly works from home but this girl has zero behavior issues so someone home 24-7 is definitely not a must. She crates when she is left alone just to protect the best interest of Indigo and the kitty. She doesn't love her crate but goes in willingly.   Indigo is a beautiful girl with limitless love who is ready for a good life. With Indigo by your side, every day will be filled with sunshine, shared adventures, and the companionship of a loyal friend. Darius Rucker was found as a stray and is now a Pei People guy! He is about 50 pounds, but needs to gain weight. He is good with other dogs, walks on a leash (a bit zig zaggy, but his foster will work on that), takes treats really nicely and is food motivated (will learn for treats!). He isn't a fan of messing with his feet and can be a little head shy, but we think that is because he doesn't see well. He isn't a fan of the vet, but did manage his big first vet appointment with us. He would probably do best in a home without very young children. Initially he can he a bit aloof, but give him 24 hours and he will follow you around the house! He is already neutered and microchipped and is up to date on vaccines, but does need entropion eyelid surgery, which will be completed prior to adoption.
