Story

We took in Fiona close to 2 years ago. A family friend was moving out of the country & was going to surrender Fiona to a shelter, so my family took her in. Fiona came from a home that did not give her much attention or the love she needed. Fiona is obsessed with people & LOVES affection. However, she has behavioral issues with other dogs. We have a family dog and Fiona gets along with him for the most part, but does attack him if she’s triggered. Fiona would thrive in a household that will only have her as the only pet. Fiona won’t pee indoors as long as she has access to the outside. She was never fully house trained at night. She will wake up several times to use the potty, therefore, she needs access. Fiona is so needy, sweet, stubborn, & a typical bulldog. We love her, but we know it puts so much stress on her after a fight with the other dog. We want what is best for Fiona & want her to have the chance to be the only dog and go to a loving home. No first time pet owner.

Poncho is an 8 month old English bulldog. He is the sweetest most adorable puppy ever but he is BIG, he’s 54 lbs and is very playful. For a bulldog, he has a lot of energy, but can also sit and watch tv for hours. He loves people, but we haven’t brought him around other dogs. I wish we could keep him but I work full time and as single parent I am hardly home. Serious inquiries only. $1000 rehoming fee, he is fully vaccinated and neutered.

AVAILABLE TO FOSTER OR ADOPT Rolex is a young adult English Bulldog who was found by a good Samaritan on a sweltering day topping 95 degrees. He was brought to the Animal Assistance League of Orange County in respiratory distress with his tongue hanging out. The AALOC team rushed Rolex to the emergency room, and he recovered quickly. He is a combination of playful and lovable, unruly, and rowdy, loves his people, but thinks he’s in charge, and needs to be the only pet. AALOC has taken great care of this cutie patootie, with airway modification commonly needed with bulldogs to help them breathe better so now he is a very quiet breather! He was neutered and will be going for professional training once his foot is recovered from having a benign cyst removed. Our rescue shelter is outdoors, only with roofing and shades and misters and pools, but this is still not appropriate for flat-faced dogs who can overheat on a 70 degree day. Therefore, we are also looking for potential fosters to care for him until he is adopted. English bulldogs are brachycephalic dogs: breeds characterized by their shortened skulls and flattened faces. They can overheat and over-exert themselves very quickly. A harness must always be used instead of a leash attached to a collar for risk of tracheal collapse. Because of these special needs, a foster/adopter who has experience with brachycephalic dogs is preferred. Please apply to adopt or foster Rolex at www.AALOC.org. Rocky was found on Easter Sunday as a stray. He was brought to Animal Assistance League of Orange County by the kind person who found him after repeated attempts to contact other animal control services, none of which were answering on the holiday. Rocky spent the night in an empty area of AALOC and was taken to our vet the next day. To say he wasn't well cared for is an understatement: Rocky’s cherry eye was so bad his eye had no tear production. Our vet said it might be best to consider removing Rocky’s eye. He also has swelling on his back paw. Since arriving at AALOC Rocky has had excellent care, including surgeries to repair his cherry eye and modify his airway to make his breathing easier, both conditions common in English Bulldogs. He was neutered and had a toe amputation on one of his back paws that came back as a low-grade mass cell tumor, which was completely excised. Rocky is now ready to find a new forever home. Rocky is an adult English Bulldog who is a combination of cuddliness and playfulness but needs an experienced Bulldog owner in an adult-only home. He's sweet and loves belly rubs from humans, but Rocky is not a fan of other dogs. Rocky is starting professional training and needs to be the only pet in the household.
