Story

Rebel came to us from the Pasadena shelter and was one scared and nervous little guy. Once he realized he was safe, he has turned into a funny and sweet little guy. He absolutely loves toys and has a favorite alligator! He would play fetch for hours if he could! The shelter reported he does not get along with other dogs and we are seeing the same. He would do best as the only dog in the home in order for him to be successful in his forever home. He has not been tested with cats and we don't know his history with children so 10+ would be best. Please consider giving this silly little guy a place to call his own and for someone not to give up on him again.

Billie came to us from the shelter recently and was very nervous. Now that she knows she's safe she is coming out of her shell and she is so sweet. She is big and beautiful girl that was possibly used for breeding. It took her a bit to get used to walking on a leash but now she's got the hang of it. When tested with other dogs, she is dominant so would do best with a indifferent dog, especially a male. She would need to be tested with any potential housemates. She has not been around cats and children should be 10+, due to unknown history. She has the sweetest face and loves attention when she can get it. Please consider giving this girl her forever home.

Meatball (aka Meaty, Meaty B.) came to rescue with a history that left her a little unsure of the world—but never unsure about people. From the moment she arrived, she showed us exactly who she is: a gentle, thoughtful bulldog who prefers to observe first, then join in once she feels safe. Over the weeks in her foster home, Meatball has been quietly blossoming. She’s gaining confidence with the other dogs, choosing to engage more in play, and showing her foster that she’s braver than she first appeared. She still loves her quiet corners—whether that’s a cozy spot outside or a tucked‑away nook indoors—but now she also trots over to join the group when she feels like it. She’s independent, but not aloof; she simply enjoys life at her own pace. Meatball is not aggressive, but she will defend herself if pushed. She and her foster’s dog Cleo mostly coexist peacefully, and Meatball has learned to navigate dog interactions with growing ease. She and Marinara have a bond, but it’s a flexible one—they can be placed together in a home that understands how to supervise them when they get a little “spicy,” or they can be adopted separately. Meatball is perfectly capable of thriving as an only dog. She’s also a bulldog with quirks—endearing ones and honest ones. She loves to chew, and if given the chance she’ll sample furniture, shoes, or anything interesting. She’s working on housebreaking, and while she’s improving, she still occasionally seeks out a quiet indoor spot to poop. She marks, especially on soft surfaces, so she currently doesn’t have couch privileges. She is excellent in a crate—comfortable, relaxed, and often chooses it on her own. But her best qualities shine brightest: She is sweet, affectionate, and loves lap time. She melts for butt scratches. She is calm, thoughtful, and incredibly easy to love. She has responded beautifully to her new diet and is feeling better physically. Meatball is the kind of bulldog who doesn’t demand attention—she earns it. She’s the quiet companion who pads over to sit beside you, the gentle soul who appreciates a soft voice and a predictable routine, and the dog who will reward patience with deep, loyal affection. Meatball is ready for her next chapter. Marinara (aka Spicy Mary, Pizza Lady) is a bulldog with personality, confidence, and a whole lot of charm. She came into rescue with a big presence and an even bigger heart — the kind of dog who walks into a room and immediately decides she belongs right in the center of it. Over time in her foster home, Marinara has settled beautifully. She’s calmer now, more relaxed with the other dogs, and far more comfortable navigating daily life. She still loves being the star of the show — attention is her love language — but she’s learned that she doesn’t need all of it, just her fair share. As long as she’s getting a piece of the affection, she’s happy to let others have theirs too. Marinara is a dog with clear boundaries and clear strengths. Toys and attention can be resource triggers, but they’re manageable with supervision and structure. She does well with submissive male dogs, and she loves playing with Gilligan. With dogs like Cleo, she can coexist peacefully as long as nothing exciting is happening — but they cannot play or have close interactions. She and Meatball have a bond, but it’s flexible. They can be adopted together in a bulldog‑savvy home that supervises their spicy moments, or they can be adopted separately. Marinara is independent enough to thrive on her own. She and Meatball both play rough, so no small kids or small dogs. They’re bulldogs who wrestle like bulldogs. Her favorite things are simple and sweet: Lap time — she will happily climb right in. Butt scratches — she melts for them. Chewing — furniture, shoes, toys… she’s an enthusiastic sampler if not supervised. Routine and structure — she responds beautifully to predictability. She’s also doing great physically. After switching to Royal Canin, her digestion improved and she’s feeling better overall. She marks occasionally, so she doesn’t have couch privileges right now, but she’s learning. What makes Marinara special is her spirit. She’s bold, affectionate, expressive, and deeply connected to her people. She wants to be part of whatever you’re doing — sitting beside you, following you around, or curling up for attention.
