Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at a meet and greet event on Saturday, April 6th at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express from 12-3pm, unless he/she is set up and adopted prior to the event. Those interested in meeting the dog can come out to our meet and greet event. We no longer do application approval onsite. Anyone adopting has been previously approved and set up to meet prior to the event. Adoption Fee: $1000   Pork Chop is a 4 year old English BullDog who is handsome enough to want to take a bite out of! Pork Chop was surrendered to the shelter with a bad case of kennel cough, which we treated with loads of love (and medicine). This handsome boy deserved better than a life in a kennel, so we scooped him out of there and promised him nothing but kisses and treats ahead. Pork Chop has been living his best life ever since and is now ready to find his forever people!    Pork Chop is very much your typical EBD, which means lovers of the breed have found their new Prince Charming! Pork Chop is a fabulous blend of snorts, snuggles, toy chasing, couch potato, all packaged in a stout body! Pork Chop is a total ham and knows how to make himself the life of any party! He is happy to chase after a toy, but sometimes decides halfway to the toy that he can’t be bothered to bring it back. Pork Chop is sassy in the way bully lovers will recognize. He knows that he is handsome and that he can strut his stuff for endless scratches and treats. Pork Chop is described as “exuberantly friendly” by all who meet him, which will make him the jewel of the dog park and beer garden. Pork Chop also loves to accessorize and will happily model for any dogstagram content. Truly, this dude is a total package who will have all the ladies fawning over him.  Pork Chop starts his morning at 8 AM with a morning potty and play session before he gets breakfast. Between 9-1, he alternates between couches for long nap sessions, snoring the morning away happily. In the afternoon, Pork Chop gets a walk which his wriggly body is so happy to embark on. Once he gets home, he spends some time playing with his toys and finding a lap to try and scramble into. He has dinner at 5 PM and then unwinds on the couch watching some TV before he heads to bed.  Pork Chop gets along with other dogs when he has a proper introduction to them. He is very large and in charge, so his new home will need to be prepared to continue his behavior training. Pork Chop has dry eye and will need eye drops daily in his new home, but besides that has no other bulldog medical conditions.  Pork Chop is working on his potty training and leash skills.    Pork Chop is only an option for those with prior dog ownership experience. We will be prioritizing those homes with prior Bully experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 10.  April 15, 2024, 6:18 am

Story
Rosie is her name. Her birthday is 03/18/2018. She’s a great home dog. She loves walks but not too far :). She’s great with kids. If you are going to take her around other animals I’d be very careful and take it slow. She does have an eye problem in her right eye. Her eye lid rubs against her eye which causes “sleepies” in her eye. They are easily cleaned with a paper towel. Also her nose is very dry right now because she would rub her nose against a wooden fence continuously to see the dog on the other side. We’re using lots of coconut oil to cure it. Overall Rosie will be a great addition to your family. She’s an easy going dog just wants to be loved and given lots of attention.

Story
If plenty of doggy wrinkles and endless squishy cuddles are your thing, beautiful Dahlia is your girl! Dahlia is quite the affectionate, 6 -year-old, 50 lb English Bulldog, whose ideal forever home is one where she can thrive as the sole, spoiled pup princess. While Dahlia does okay with other dogs in general, she can be possessive of her food and treats. She currently lives in a home with multiple dogs. Since she guards her goodies from both dogs and kids, she’s better suited for an adult-only household where she’s the only dog. A bull-dog savvy home is a plus! Dahlia is a loyal girl who loves to follow her foster mom around. She is very fond of gardening outside when it’s not too hot and loves to play ball. A cozy nap on a comfy dog bed is her absolute favorite thing to do - she’s sure to win your heart with her soft and endearing snores! Dahlia is a seasoned cuddler, sleeps through the night in her crate, and is also housebroken. She’s always up for an adventure, be it a nice walk or an exciting car ride where she can explore the world. She’s great on the leash and makes a fantastic walking buddy! Bulldogs are wonderful dogs that require a bit of extra care. All Dahlia is looking for is a loving home where she will be doted on and adored for life…and she promises to return the favor! To help set her up for success in her new home, a training session will be provided with her adoption if needed. If you’re interested in meeting Dahlia, send an email to olveiry@yahoo.com and tell us about the home you can provide for her. Or, complete our online application at 1luckydogrescue.org

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Chunk is a 2 year old English Bulldog, who came to us as an owner surrender. Chunk absolutely adores humans, but he's definitely a man's best friend. He just finished a 4 week board & train with Wolf Mother K9 to work through his trauma. Chunk is a bit of special boy, he's very dog neutrally and friendly, he gets along great with them and could live with them. However, when he does live with another dog, it makes him lose trust in humans and causes him to bite when he's afraid, though he never does this in a home without other dogs. So, a home where he can be the only dog would be best or in a home with 1 other mellow dog. He loves to play, very food motivated and enjoys walks! He gets triggered by loud noises, quick movements and will bark when he wants cuddles. Chunk is a very healthy English Bulldog and doesn't even have most of their allergies or skin concerns that typically accompany the breed. Without dogs, he is absolutely perfect, cuddly, affectionate, and calm. He'll follow you around the house and try to be a lap dog whenever he can! Chunk is being fostered in Fairfield, CA. If you would like to meet Chunk, please fill out our adoption application on our website www.cabullyrescue.org/adopt.

Story
Hi! I am Cheesecake, well...simply because i look like one. LOL. I am dog friendly but have had a hard time trusting new people. I am working on this and my confidence and am doing my best! I was saved from Merced Shelter right around Thanksgiving. I am 57lbs and still trying to loose a little weight, but with all the walking i do, i am sure i will lose a few pounds shortly! I am good with other dogs but need some time to warm up to new people, they scare me a little bit. I am working on feeling safe in the crate too, but i have been doing a lot better! I am a sweet girl, who just needs to feel safe, loved and have boundaries. I am currently being fostered in Pleasanton, CA. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website www.californiabullyrescue.org/adopt
