Story
Robin came to AFRP after entering Hitchcock Road Animal Services as a stray pup with a myriad of medical needs. Lets just say she didn't experience the best life prior to arriving in our care, but she's living her best life now, just waiting for her new family! According to her fosters, Robin is a sweet and loving pup full of life and fun! She loves playing with toys, going on short walks, and spending time with her humans. Because she prefers to be the center of attention she would do best as the only pet in the household. Trust us, she has plently of love to go around! She is currently working on training, and can sit. She needs continued training with walking nicely on a leash. She is crate-trained. Robin is looking for an adopter who has experience with brachycephalic breeds (flat-faced dogs) and understands their continued needs. She is also seeking someone comfortable with her continued medical needs, such as daily heart medication and facial fold cleaning. Brita is currently undergoing an 8 -week long training program with Unchained! She will be unable to be adopted during this time, but we will still accept and review applications while she is in training. Robin comes with pre-registration for one-on-one classes to help with his exposure to other dogs and general basic obedience. She will do best in an adult-only household, or with children 10 and older. Robin is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be scheduled once your online application has been received and approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for an online application.

Story
English Bulldog Female, 9 years old, 61 pounds Wednesday is a wiggly, snorty, sniffly, squishy-faced girl who's eager to greet everyone she comes across. Bulldog lovers are bound to go crazy for her loud snores and big slobbery kisses! Even non-Bulldog lovers can't help but fall in love with this sweet girl! Wednesday will do best as the only dog in her home as she has made it clear that she does not wish to share her space with other pups. She would love nothing more than to spend much of the day away with you on the couch snoozing or getting belly rubs. Wednesday enjoys going for a nice walk here and there but her greatest passion is to be inside spending time with her people. Wednesday will love a family who will help her lose a few pounds with a proper diet and gentle activity. Wednesday's ideal family will be homebodies. She is doing great when left for short periods of time in her foster home, but isn't a big fan of alone time. Wednesday has lived with a child before, but is not a pup that is safe to live with cats. Wednesday came to us from Hitchcock Road Animal Services after being found as a stray.

Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at a meet and greet event on Saturday, February 24th unless he/she is adopted prior to the event with a set up home. The event is from 12 pm to 3 pm at Palo Alto's Pet Food Express. Those interested in meeting the dog can come out to our meet and greet event. We no longer do application approval onsite. Anyone adopting has been previously approved and set up to meet prior to the event. Adoption Fee: $1000   Pork Chop is a 4 year old English BullDog who is handsome enough to want to take a bite out of! Pork Chop was surrendered to the shelter with a bad case of kennel cough, which we treated with loads of love (and medicine). This handsome boy deserved better than a life in a kennel, so we scooped him out of there and promised him nothing but kisses and treats ahead. Pork Chop has been living his best life ever since and is now ready to find his forever people!    Pork Chop is very much your typical EBD, which means lovers of the breed have found their new Prince Charming! Pork Chop is a fabulous blend of snorts, snuggles, toy chasing, couch potato, all packaged in a stout body! Pork Chop is a total ham and knows how to make himself the life of any party! He is happy to chase after a toy, but sometimes decides halfway to the toy that he can’t be bothered to bring it back. Pork Chop is sassy in the way bully lovers will recognize. He knows that he is handsome and that he can strut his stuff for endless scratches and treats. Pork Chop is described as “exuberantly friendly” by all who meet him, which will make him the jewel of the dog park and beer garden. Pork Chop also loves to accessorize and will happily model for any dogstagram content. Truly, this dude is a total package who will have all the ladies fawning over him.  Pork Chop starts his morning at 8 AM with a morning potty and play session before he gets breakfast. Between 9-1, he alternates between couches for long nap sessions, snoring the morning away happily. In the afternoon, Pork Chop gets a walk which his wriggly body is so happy to embark on. Once he gets home, he spends some time playing with his toys and finding a lap to try and scramble into. He has dinner at 5 PM and then unwinds on the couch watching some TV before he heads to bed.  Pork Chop gets along with other dogs when he has a proper introduction to them. He is very large and in charge, so his new home will need to be prepared to continue his behavior training. Pork Chop has dry eye and will need eye drops daily in his new home, but besides that has no other bulldog medical conditions.  Pork Chop is working on his potty training and leash skills.    Pork Chop is only an option for those with prior dog ownership experience. We will be prioritizing those homes with prior Bully experience. Kids in the home should be over the age of 10.  March 1, 2024, 11:57 am

Story
Monty joined our family as a puppy in 2022. He was born November 12, 2021 and we believe him to be fully English Bulldog (though we don't have any official paperwork or any genetic testing to verify). Unfortunately, as our daughter has grown from a baby to a toddler to a kid, he's shown that he doesn't love being around kids and we want our house to be a safe place for her and her friends. Monty is very reactive to other dogs and animals as well, so he would do best in a home where he is the center of attention. He would love to have a yard or space to play because he is a very energetic bulldog. Don't get him wrong, he loves to sleep and cuddle as well, but anytime he sees a tennis ball (any ball actually), rope or toy, he is quick to pick it up and ask to play. He loves playing fetch and tug-o-war. We are heartbroken to have our boy rehomed, but we think it's best for him and our daughter - Looking for very loving owners! Note: Cherry eye on right eye may need surgery.

Story
Lola is a sweet, loving English Bulldog. She has been well cared for and 6 and a half years old in good health. She loves being indoors and cuddling. She is a California Girl. If it is sunny and not too hot, she likes to sun her belly. She enjoys a walk around the block. Anything further, she will simply lay down in the road. She needs a home where there are no other dogs or pets. Previous Bulldog experience is preferred. If interested, please tell us about yourself and previous pet experience.
