Story

This is Monty! He's a 4 year old English Bulldog that loves to sit in the sun and spend time with his humans. Monty loves to go outside on walks and play inside with balls and chew toys. He's a silly bulldog that will be a great companion for someone who spends a lot of time at home since he loves to nap and simply be around his family. He is crate trained though, so he is able to spend time alone during the day too. We are looking to rehome Monty because he has shown reactivity toward small children. Our daughter is 6 and has learned his boundaries, but we are looking to add another baby to the family and don't think Monty will be happy in that environment. We are hoping to find a loving family that is willing to take him on as their own because he deserves so much love! Monty is reactive toward other dogs as well, but we have learned to walk him away from other dogs and keep him distracted. He's smart and food motivated so training and socialization is possible!

English Bulldog Age: 5-6 yrs old Female, Spayed 38 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Courtney was found as a stray and turned into the local shelter. She had an abscess on her paw that needed medical attention. Upon evaluation by our vet, it was observed that she also has dry eye syndrome, ectropion eyelids that turn in, but her corneas were in pretty good shape. There were also sutures still in place on her lower abdominal area. The incision was too small for a recent C-section and there were no other signs that she had been recently pregnant (although she has likely had puppies in the past). It could have been from a recent spay, but lab testing indicated that she was still intact. It is a mystery as to why the incision w/ sutures was there. Our vet spayed her and fixed her eyelids. She is on ointment and eye drops for the chronic dry eyes, but it is possible that this will correct itself over time. English bulldogs in general often have LOTS of medical issues. Courtney had some domination issues with the volunteers when she first came to us. After some consistent and stringent correction, that behavior considerably lessened, but she will need to be monitored when meeting strangers. Otherwise, she is very sweet and loves attention. We pulled Courtney at the same time we pulled another English Bulldog, a male named Otis, from the same shelter. We thought that they may have come from the same home and were bonded. They do get along very well and probably bonded in a bulldog breed bonding sort of way. Courtney and Otis need to be adopted together. The founder has over 160 dogs waiting for homes and didn’t have space for another dog. However, when she saw photos of the dogs suffering. She knew it was urgent to help. The rescue took home 19 dogs and promised to find them forever loving homes. Alexa had a thorough medical checkup. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on her blood tests. English Bulldog Age: 2 yrs old Male, Neutered 33 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Otis was found as a stray and turned into the local shelter. He was pretty healthy, but had a condition called “cherry eye” in both eyes. Our vet attempted to fix both eyes - the success rate for this repair is about 50/50. One eye is healing nicely, the other may not be so lucky, time will tell. Cherry eye is mostly a cosmetic issue, and doesn’t affect their ability to see. English bulldogs in general often have LOTS of medical issues. The only other observable condition, so far, is a flea allergy. Otis had a lot of energy, a lot of humping and marking before he was neutered. Within a week following surgery, there was a big difference in his behavior. He is young and still energetic at times, but he is also very sweet and loves to cuddle. We pulled Otis at the same time we pulled another English Bulldog, a female named Courtney, from the same shelter. We thought that they may have come from the same home and were bonded. They do get along very well and probably bonded in a bulldog breed bonding sort of way. Courtney and Otis need to be adopted together. I was rescued by a dog loving lady and driven all the way from an overcrowded shelter in L.A. I was saved without a moment to spare. Adopt Bindi What can we say about BINDI? The perfect puppy. She is absolutely a gem. Dogs no problem, people no problem, kids no problem , fireworks? No big deal. She rides in the car. Super great either in a crate or in her seat. She sleeps through the night in her crate very well! As long as there is a way to the backyard she knows how to use the bathroom outside. While she does love to get a little rowdy with her current brothers and sister, she can also chill and relax, just as easy. She has one quirk .. which is that she does suffer from mega esophagus. So that being said she does much better in cooler temperatures. So she doesn’t over drink water and regurgitate and best to have a raised bowl. This is a condition where her esophagus does not have the muscle tone and it is hard for food to get from her esophagus to her stomach correctly. We had a wonderful Neighbor build her a special “Bailey“ chair which she eats her meals in and sits in with a lick mat for approximately 20 minutes. We have worked very hard on a meal plan that works awesome for her. And with that she maybe has zero to one regurgitation a day. She doesn’t need much exercise .Short walks or play dates are awesome and fun for her. A home with more mellow siblings would probably be best for her. She is the sweetest most loving puppy and I think she deserves a home that will put her needs first. She’s overall such a good dog and any family would be lucky to have her be part of the pack!
