Story
Sandwich (Sammy) is a sweet, 10-year-old bulldog. He's low energy around the house, and loves cuddles and couch time. He has many attributes that bulldogs are known for: dry nose, slobbery cheeks, and snoring, but that's all part of the charm. The tough part: He has to take regular medication to address a muscular condition in his jaw that he developed as a pup. This is a critical prescription, so his new parent(s) will need to be good about his medication schedule, and take him in regular check-ups. We will provide all prescription and medical information, as well as references to his regular vets. Because of his age, he prefers short walks and minimal play time. Sandwich would be very comfortable in a chill household with someone that just wants a chunky cuddle buddy, and doesn't mind a dog that needs a little extra TLC. If you think you can take good care of this lovable chunk, please reach out.

Story
English Bulldog Age: 5-6 yrs old Female, Spayed 38 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Courtney was found as a stray and turned into the local shelter. She had an abscess on her paw that needed medical attention. Upon evaluation by our vet, it was observed that she also has dry eye syndrome, ectropion eyelids that turn in, but her corneas were in pretty good shape. There were also sutures still in place on her lower abdominal area. The incision was too small for a recent C-section and there were no other signs that she had been recently pregnant (although she has likely had puppies in the past). It could have been from a recent spay, but lab testing indicated that she was still intact. It is a mystery as to why the incision w/ sutures was there. Our vet spayed her and fixed her eyelids. She is on ointment and eye drops for the chronic dry eyes, but it is possible that this will correct itself over time. English bulldogs in general often have LOTS of medical issues. Courtney had some domination issues with the volunteers when she first came to us. After some consistent and stringent correction, that behavior considerably lessened, but she will need to be monitored when meeting strangers. Otherwise, she is very sweet and loves attention. We pulled Courtney at the same time we pulled another English Bulldog, a male named Otis, from the same shelter. We thought that they may have come from the same home and were bonded. They do get along very well and probably bonded in a bulldog breed bonding sort of way. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. Story
English Bulldog Age: 2 yrs old Male, Neutered 33 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Otis was found as a stray and turned into the local shelter. He was pretty healthy, but had a condition called “cherry eye” in both eyes. Our vet attempted to fix both eyes - the success rate for this repair is about 50/50. One eye is healing nicely, the other may not be so lucky, time will tell. Cherry eye is mostly a cosmetic issue, and doesn’t affect their ability to see. English bulldogs in general often have LOTS of medical issues. The only other observable condition, so far, is a flea allergy. Otis had a lot of energy, a lot of humping and marking before he was neutered. Within a week following surgery, there was a big difference in his behavior. He is young and still energetic at times, but he is also very sweet and loves to cuddle. We pulled Otis at the same time we pulled another English Bulldog, a female named Courtney, from the same shelter. We thought that they may have come from the same home and were bonded. They do get along very well and probably bonded in a bulldog breed bonding sort of way. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. Story
Hello world, I’m Cheesecake—yes, like the dessert, and just as sweet (with a little bit of sass)! I’m a squishy-faced, wiggly-bummed English Bulldog, around 5 or 6 years young, and I’m currently accepting applications for my forever snuggle squad. My vibe? Think: spa day every day. I’m all about the chill life—sunbathing like a pro, gnawing on my favorite tough toys, and drifting into the kind of naps dreams are made of (bonus points if I get to snore like a tiny freight train). Now, I do come with a shy side, especially when meeting new folks—men in particular can take me a little longer to warm up to. But give me time, patience, and a consistent routine, and BAM! I’ll be your ride-or-die couch buddy. I’m looking for a low-key, introvert-friendly household where people get my need for space and slow introductions. I’m cool with mellow doggie roommates as long as we meet politely and don’t rush into anything serious (boundaries, people!). Crate life? Oh, I LOVE it. My crate is my personal zen den—safe, structured, and 100% Cheesecake-approved. I’ve also got 12 weeks of professional training under my (adorable) belt thanks to Lee Johnson of BeSpokeK9, and I come with a lifetime membership to the Cheesecake Glow-Up Club: Ongoing group classes 1:1 training sessions Boarding options Priority swimming pool access (yes, I have pool perks!) And support from my trainer for life—shoutout to @boooshank on Instagram! So, what do you say? Ready to add a little bulldog magic to your life? I’m currently being fostered in Novato, CA, and would love to meet you. If you’re into soulful eyes, a snuggly squish, and a pup who’s working hard to be her best self, I’m your girl. Apply to adopt me at www.californiabullyrescue.org/adopt. I’ll be waiting (probably napping, but still waiting).

Story
Meet Stevie, the 15-week-old bundle of joy with a heart full of love! Stevie can’t see very well from her one eye, but that doesn't stop her from living life to the fullest. She’s a playful, energetic puppy who loves running around the backyard, playing with her dog friends, and chewing on her squeaky toys. Despite her special condition, Stevie is just like any other puppy—full of energy, curiosity, and a sweet, loving nature. This little girl is looking for a home where she can continue to grow, play, and fill your life with joy. If you’re ready for a playful, spirited companion who doesn’t let anything hold her back, Stevie is the perfect fit! Here’s what her previous foster had to say: “Stevie is the bravest little puppy. We have 2 other small dogs and, though she was a little bit nervous at first, she was sniffing all around and playing in no time. She is a very smart pup and understood the rules of our house, needing only a gentle reminder here or there. This means she slept in her own bed on the floor, did not try to jump on the couch, and shared toys with the other dogs. Despite her vision issues, Stevie is very self-sufficient and is perfectly content to sit and chew on a toy.”

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $800 Countess Whiskerella of Floofington   2–3 years old | 25 lbs | Frenchie-Pekinese Mix | Ice-blue eyes | Personality as big as her name   All hail Countess Whiskerella of Floofington — a royal blend of stubborn charm, comedic floof, and ice-blue elegance. Rescued from a shelter, Whiskerella has left her mysterious past behind and fully embraced her new identity as a noble lady of leisure and opinion. Her floofy coat, hilariously expressive face, and piercing blue eyes make her a showstopper wherever she goes.   A Day in the Life of Royalty Whiskerella begins her day at 7 am, though she’s no fan of early mornings. After a short “please hurry” walk, she insists on returning indoors for her first meal—she’s got standards, after all. During the day, she lounges like the dignitary she is, often nearby her human, playing gently with rustling toys or napping on the floor (the Countess has rejected all soft beds in favor of a humble blanket by her human's bedside).   Evening is when she shines. Around 8 pm, she’s ready for her grand promenade, where she showcases her excellent leash manners— unless, of course, you dare suggest a route she disapproves of. Then, she will sit or flop dramatically until you change course.   Personality Fit for a Palace When Whiskerella first arrived at her foster home, she was all drama: non-stop panting, bouncing off the walls, and launching her cone-crowned head into every shin and lap. But after a few long walks (royal strolls, if you will), her true personality began to emerge— relaxed, affectionate, and wonderfully quirky. She became a calm and curious companion, a true lady... with opinions.   She is loyal, intelligent, and sometimes a bit stubborn. She understands basic obedience and is working on “sit and wait” before going out, but be warned: she remembers everything. If you leave her behind, she might just hold a grudge.   Affectionate... with Boundaries Whiskerella loves affection and will happily curl up with you on the couch— if invited. However, she interprets a single invitation as a full-time promotion, so boundaries must be enforced or she’ll try to rule your entire lap and life. She thrives with structure, routine, and gentle but consistent leadership. When petted on the chest or behind the ears, she lights up with joy. It's one of the purest rewards you'll ever witness.   Family Life & Social Skills She’s incredibly tolerant with children and doesn’t mind if little hands explore her face, paws, or ears. That said, she still jumps when excited and could knock over small children She’s indifferent to other dogs on walks and hasn’t shown much interest in dog-to-dog interaction so far.   Quirks & Challenges Whiskerella is mostly housetrained, though she has had a few accidents tied to changes in routine or emotional protest. She's still adjusting and would benefit from a patient adopter who can offer her consistency and continue supporting her training. She’s not a chewer, digger, or barker—just a determined diva with a quiet, expressive stare that will melt your heart and test your resolve.   Countess Whiskerella may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for the right person, she is a treasure. Regal, ridiculous, and utterly endearing— she’s looking for a forever throne (er, home) to call her own.   Interested in hosting a Countess, for life? Get ready for floof, sass, and a whole lot of love.                  May 15, 2025, 5:12 pm
