Story
Meet Honeybun! Honeybun is a 2-year-old, 44-pound Bulldog/American Bully mix, and quite frankly, she believes life should be enjoyed from the comfort of a plush couch, preferably wrapped in a soft blanket while being told how beautiful she is. This gorgeous girl has the most kissable squishy bulldog face, the sweetest pouty expression, and the kind of soulful eyes that make you want to tell her all your secrets. Her chunky little body, adorable bulldog wrinkles, and permanently concerned expression only add to her charm. She looks like a fancy little queen who accidentally got lost on her way to a spa day. Honeybun's dream life is simple: a cozy couch, a sunny backyard, a few favorite stuffies, and people who adore her. She is the definition of a luxury model couch potato. While some dogs dream of hiking mountains, Honeybun dreams of finding the warmest patch of sunshine in the yard and taking a world-class nap. To truly see who Honeybun is, watch her video! Then come right back to read more! https://youtu.be/onXz8umb0_E?si=7tM1X0HtR3m8CaMn She absolutely loves sunbathing and would thrive in a home with a yard where she can lounge, sniff around, supervise your gardening efforts, and soak up the sunshine like the little princess she is. She's still figuring out this whole leash-walking thing and tends to pancake when she's unsure, but honestly, Honeybun is such a homebody that she's perfectly content living her best backyard-and-couch lifestyle. Honeybun is wonderfully social with other dogs, but in the most Honebun way possible. She'll happily wag her tail, say hello, exchange a few polite sniffs, and then wander off to do her own thing. She isn't looking for a wrestling partner or a dog park bestie, she's looking for peaceful coexistence and good vibes. Think "friendly neighbor" rather than "party animal." She also did wonderfully with our house cat. She politely sniffed, watched the cat hop around, and then decided it wasn't really her business. We'll happily do additional testing for homes with cats, but she showed some very encouraging signs. One of the sweetest moments I’ve ever seen was watching her with an 8-year-old boy. Honeybun completely melted. She stretched out in the grass, accepted chin scratches like royalty accepting tribute, and looked perfectly content to stay there forever. Based on her gentle nature, we think she'd do wonderfully with respectful children. At the end of the day, Honeybun is a soft-hearted, low-key girl who simply wants love. She isn't asking for much, just a comfy couch, a sunny spot, some snacks, and people who will appreciate her unique combination of squishy bulldog cuteness and laid-back charm. If your dream dog is less "adventure athlete" and more "luxury throw pillow that occasionally waddles around the house," Honeybun may be your soulmate. Story
Squishy, splooty, and spectacularly unbothered… this is Barney. A low-riding, soft-hearted gentleman with a built-in off switch and a very serious commitment to comfort. He’s the kind of dog who treats life like a cozy Sunday afternoon… all day, every day. Go watch Barney Belly-Up Bliss Mode on YouTube, then come back… because seeing the full-body sploot and his signature “booty scratch malfunction” really completes the picture. https://youtu.be/td5ulHjXcNU Barney is estimated to be around 4 years old and weighs about 60 lbs. He looks like a bulldog/staffie mix with that perfectly smooshy, huggable build, but as always, rescue rules apply… breed and birthday are our best guess. What we do know for sure is that Barney has mastered the art of being chill. His foster describes him as easygoing, affectionate, and wonderfully low-key. He lives with multiple dogs of all sizes and ages and gets along beautifully with everyone, happily coexisting and minding his own business like the unbothered king he is. Barney doesn’t need the spotlight. He’s more of a “I’ll be right here if you need me” kind of companion. He’s confident and loving with people, happy to accept affection (especially if it comes in the form of a good booty scratch… fair warning, that may cause a full system reboot). He greets the world with a calm curiosity, takes everything in stride, and if something isn’t his vibe, he simply turns away and carries on. It’s a quiet kind of confidence that makes him incredibly easy to have around. Let’s talk about his hobbies, because Barney is a specialist. His top skills include: professional-level lounging, slow wandering, and executing a 10/10 sploot with textbook form. He’s not here for chaos or cardio. In fact, once he’s decided he’s done walking, he’s done. Think less “let’s go for a hike” and more “let’s sit together and watch the clouds do their thing.” He would thrive in a home that appreciates a slower pace and doesn’t expect playful, high-energy antics. With other dogs, Barney is social but likes to keep it chill. He prefers calm companions who respect his space and aren’t looking for a wrestling partner. He communicates clearly, sets polite boundaries, and then goes back to his regularly scheduled wandering. Barney is not a cat guy so a cat-free home will be needed and he would do best in a home without lots of stairs due to his sturdy build and low-to-the-ground frame. Crates aren’t his favorite either, he will oblige with a tiny woo-woo protest but his foster has found that giving him freedom and comfort works beautifully for him. He is trustworthy are perfectly house-trained. Barney is the definition of a companion dog. Not a project, not a whirlwind… just a steady, lovable presence who wants to exist alongside his people and soak up the simple things. A retired couple maybe, a quiet home, a comfy couch… that’s his dream lineup. If you’ve been waiting for a “no drama, just vibes” kind of dog, Barney is ready to report for duty. Apply today and welcome home your favorite nap partner. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69ebbffb6ed356befb03aa08 Questions? Story
Tater Tot is exactly what his name suggests- golden brown, round, hearty, a little lumpy, deeply lovable, and best enjoyed on the couch. He is estimated to be around 7 years old and is every bit the classic bulldog experience rolled into one chunky little package. Low to the ground, low on energy, and highly motivated by snacks, Tater Tot is not looking for adventure. He is looking for comfort, air conditioning, and someone who understands the beauty of a simple life. Rescue rules apply, so no promises on breed or birthday. Go watch Tater Tot on YouTube, then come right back to read more about this snack-seeking couch potato. https://youtu.be/6S8myH-_Bgc Tater Tot is wonderfully uncomplicated with people. He is confident meeting new friends, enjoys attention without demanding it constantly, and handles busy environments with the same energy as a dad walking through Home Depot on a Saturday morning. Calm. Unbothered. Mildly interested in where the treats are located. He is easy to leash, walks at the easiest pace (don’t call it slow), settles quickly, and truly seems happiest just wandering around at his own pace before finding a comfy place to lay down. And honestly? That is pretty much the dream bulldog setup. Now for the important placement note: Tater Tot really needs to be a solo dog. Not because he is aggressive or reactive, but because he is an older bulldog with absolutely zero respect for other dogs’ personal space. His entire social strategy currently revolves around awkward attempts to fast-track the relationship. This could be said a million ways but he is just wildly unconcerned with other dogs’ opinions on personal space. Here are a few- * Tater Tot approaches dog friendships with the confidence of someone who has never heard the word ‘boundaries. * Tater Tot is wildly unconcerned with other dogs’ opinions on personal space. *Tater Tot treats every dog introduction like an awkward speed date nobody agreed to attend. Some dogs tolerate it. Some absolutely will not. Tater Tot himself stays cool and unbothered but simply, it is much easier, happier, and safer to manage his freshy-boy tendencies as the only pet in the home. The good news is he genuinely does not seem to need dog friends to feel fulfilled. Tater Tot feels like a dog who would thrive in a quiet home where the daily agenda includes snacks, naps, short strolls, and rotating all his parts between sunny spots on the floor. He is low energy, easygoing with people, and recovers quickly from stressful situations. He crates well, settles well, and overall gives off “retired uncle with a recliner” energy in the absolute best way. Tater Tot does not need much. Just a comfy home, some understanding of classic bulldog quirks, and someone willing to love a sweet older guy exactly as he is. Ready to welcome Tater Tot home? Story
If you've ever wished a squishy bulldog cartoon character could come to life, allow us to introduce Biscuit. Biscuit is about 2 years old, and we believe he's a Bulldog/American Bully mix. Whatever his breed makeup may be, one thing is certain: this boy was built for maximum squish. From his giant blocky head and velvety soft face to his permanently adorable little teefers that peek out when he smiles, Biscuit is the kind of dog that makes people laugh and fall in love within about three seconds of meeting him. Seriously. Look at that face. Biscuit is a gentle, affectionate boy who loves people, treats, pets, and just being included in whatever is going on. He's the type of dog who wants to trot alongside you, supervise your yard work, investigate every interesting smell, and then collect payment in the form of belly rubs. Watch Biscuit in action in his video! https://youtu.be/ieAC7nEeQaM?si=-IPSQxWPEw1Qx5Fo One of the cutest things about Biscuit is how much he loves other dogs. During his assessment, he completely lit up when he met a little scruffy dog named Mateo. His tail started wagging at warp speed, his confidence came out, and he suddenly decided everything was wonderful. Watching him make friends was honestly adorable. His ideal dog friend would be easygoing, playful, or generally non-confrontational. Biscuit isn't looking for drama—he's looking for a buddy. Biscuit has that classic bulldog charm, too. He might throw in a happy little hop when he's excited. He can be a bit of a goofball. He occasionally forgets that he's not a tiny lap dog. And while he enjoys a good adventure, he's definitely more of a "stroll around and sniff every blade of grass" kind of guy than a marathon runner. As for cats, Biscuit surprised us in the best way. After a little time to process the situation, he politely sniffed, followed, and even gave the kitty some gentle kisses. We'd still want to do additional testing for homes with cats, but we saw some really encouraging signs. Biscuit also met a 9-year-old child and did great. Because he's a sturdy, enthusiastic bulldog boy who can get excited and forget how much squish-powered momentum he has, we'd recommend older kiddos who can appreciate his goofy personality. His dream home would probably include a yard, some snacks, a comfy couch, and people who appreciate the finer things in life, like bulldog snores, random happy hops, and tiny teeth sticking out for absolutely no reason. At the end of the day, Biscuit is just pure joy. He's funny without trying, sweet as can be, great with other dogs, and has one of those faces that somehow gets cuter every time you look at it. If you've been searching for a best friend who looks like a warm biscuit and loves with his whole heart, this squishy little guy is ready to meet you. Story
Name: Captain Nicknames: Cap. Cappy. Cappuccino. Cappa. Chee-no. Breed: Bully mix Age: 3 years Weight: 56 lbs. Before OMD: Found as a stray. Spent a lot of time with our vet partner the last few months while we worked through his core vetting and extra diagnostics to make sure he was medically cleared for his adoption! His adopters should know he has a grade 3 murmur but it only presents itself when he is worked up/excited and it won't affect his quality of life or life span. Energy level: Medium. He goes for 2-3 mile walks when the weather cooperates. He does spend much of the day napping, but if he senses any movement and fun-to-be-had, he's springing into action. If he were a plant: He would be the invasive species variety. He likes to take up every inch of space around you. What we love most: When he leans his stocky-little-self into you for pets. When he rests his cylinder block head on you and stares up at you. When he army crawls over to you for pets. His always-in-a-good-mood disposition. The way he skips up the stairs and hops on the way back down. What he loves most: Ice cubes - as soon as he hears the freezer opening, he's bolting over and sitting like a VGB, patiently waiting for his cube. Attention. Pets. Walks. Snuggles. Food. Melting into his dog beds and couch cushions. Working on: Less pulling on leash when he sees little critters. Less corn-cobbing (nibbling) you when he's excited and wants attention. Less licking foster family members. Kids: 8+ please. He has not socialized yet with kiddos and we expect that he would easily knock little ones over. Dogs: His size or larger! He currently lives with 2 larger, low-key dogs and is very respectful (though could annoy a potential companion with his very "thoughtful" grooming techniques). Small dogs incite his prey drive and are a definite no. Cats: Hard pass House-trained: Yep! Crate-trained: Yes and he currently sleeps in his crate. Captain is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from our website.

Venus was rescued back in October. Her first week in rescue was 24/7 hospital care on IV liquids, antibiotics, and pain medicine. Her diagnosis included several broken ribs (likely from humans kicking her). We have a strong inkling that Venus somehow escaped from the life of a bait dog for dog fighting which sadly is commonplace in our state. She was very thin, every bone in her body was protruding and she had very infected abcesses all over her body from bite wounds. She had heartworms and has completed the full treatment. She has made a complete recovery and is ready to be a part of a family, something she has never had before! She does not get along with other dogs. Cats aren’t her thing either, but she makes up for it with loyalty, affection, and the sweetest temperament. Venus is ready to brighten someone’s world. Could it be yours? She is currently being fostered in Mississippi but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road! Please message us if you are interested in adopting this little girl and we will send you an adoption application! We look forward to talking with you!

Story
Have you ever heard on the TV, well a hoarder's house has been raided and ... animals have been seized and sent to the pound or rescue organizations in the area.... WELL, we are FROM just that kind of situation :( The good thing is we were SAVED... the bad thing is that we had to ENDURE the neglect and disgusting home. The BEST thing is we were ALL SAVED by a rescue group who REFUSED to leave even ONE behind...... 30 dogs/pups ALL AT ONCE has been taxing and motivating for the rescuers. If you watch our video, the situation was very very challenging but our rescuers worked their butts off to save us. We are almost all ready for adoption, all the pups are social and ready for their furever homes! The young adults and adults are a little more shy but have been working really hard with our rescuers to be ready for YOU!! We are a unique "breed" mix, lol. Aunts/Uncles/Parents/SIblings... all "living" together. We have Shar Pei, Scruffy dogs, Pit Bull, and maybe Spaniel mixed in there :D We are all pretty much medium sized, 20-50# and cute as HECK!! If you have ever wanted to adopt a rescued dog that NEEDS the best home, WE ARE WAITING RIGHT HERE!!! Please watch our video, empathize with us AND our rescue family and ADOPT!!!! SO SO SO MANY LIVES DEPEND ON IT!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
Boots scootin’, tail waggin’, and ready to steal your heart! Meet our adorable Country Singer litter, a group of Shar Pei mix puppies with personalities as big as a sold-out concert. These happy pups spend their days doing what puppies do best—playing, wrestling, bouncing off each other, and turning every toy into the greatest show on earth. They are quite the talkative bunch, filling the room with puppy grumbles, squeaks, and playful chatter as they romp around together. If you've never heard puppies hold an entire conversation while wrestling over a toy, you're in for a treat! Crinkle toys and squeakers are absolute favorites. Nothing is more exciting than pouncing on a noisy toy and carrying it proudly around the room. When playtime winds down, these little stars are all about soft blankets, cozy naps, and soaking up attention from their people. They love other dogs, enjoy meeting new friends, and are always ready for an adventure or a cuddle session. Their sweet, social personalities make them a joy to be around. These puppies didn't have the easiest start in life. They arrived missing much of their coat, but after receiving the care and treatment they needed, they're thriving. Their beautiful coats are growing in nicely, and every day they become healthier, fluffier, and more confident. Now they're ready to leave the stage behind and find loving families of their own. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate puppy who can make you laugh, keep you entertained, and then snuggle up beside you for a nap, one of these little country stars may be the perfect fit. Local adoption fee is $250(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
