Story
Name: Captain Nicknames: Cap. Cappy. Cappuccino. Cappa. Chee-no. Breed: Bully mix Age: 3 years Weight: 56 lbs. Before OMD: Found as a stray. Spent a lot of time with our vet partner the last few months while we worked through his core vetting and extra diagnostics to make sure he was medically cleared for his adoption! His adopters should know he has a grade 3 murmur but it only presents itself when he is worked up/excited and it won't affect his quality of life or life span. Energy level: Medium. He goes for 2-3 mile walks when the weather cooperates. He does spend much of the day napping, but if he senses any movement and fun-to-be-had, he's springing into action. If he were a plant: He would be the invasive species variety. He likes to take up every inch of space around you. What we love most: When he leans his stocky-little-self into you for pets. When he rests his cylinder block head on you and stares up at you. When he army crawls over to you for pets. His always-in-a-good-mood disposition. The way he skips up the stairs and hops on the way back down. What he loves most: Ice cubes - as soon as he hears the freezer opening, he's bolting over and sitting like a VGB, patiently waiting for his cube. Attention. Pets. Walks. Snuggles. Food. Melting into his dog beds and couch cushions. Working on: Less pulling on leash when he sees little critters. Less corn-cobbing (nibbling) you when he's excited and wants attention. Less licking foster family members. Kids: 8+ please. He has not socialized yet with kiddos and we expect that he would easily knock little ones over. Dogs: His size or larger! He currently lives with 2 larger, low-key dogs and is very respectful (though could annoy a potential companion with his very "thoughtful" grooming techniques). Small dogs incite his prey drive and are a definite no. Cats: Hard pass House-trained: Yep! Crate-trained: Yes and he currently sleeps in his crate. Captain is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. Story
Name: Biggie Nickname: Biggie Boy Doppelgänger: Chris Farley Breed: Bulldog Age: 3 years Weight: 56 lbs. Before OMD: Surrendered to the rescue when his owners could no longer care for him. Energy Level: Perfect combo of high and low. Plays with his foster Boxer buddy, but is also a perfect snuggle partner on the couch Descriptors: Happy go lucky. Playful. Friendly. Super cuddly! Gives ridiculous face. What we love most: The way his legs sprawl like a frog when lying down. His perfect trot on leash. His snuggling ability. The way he sits in the same spot after every meal, waiting to go outside. His gallant effort to reach his paws with his mouth, constantly failing resulting in head bobs. His teefers. What he loves most: His people. Food. Playing with other dogs. Toys. Licking his humans feet. Chasing the cat. What he doesn't love: Having his skin folds and ears cleaned What he knows: Sit. Stay. Shake. How to look cute at all times. What he is working on: Not bolting out an open door. Not nibbling at feet. Not chasing the cat. Not scooping up anything a human drops, thinking it is food. Kids: We believe he will be fine with kids over 10 as he is very strong and has become distressed by the the antics of small children. Dogs: This is complicated. He has been amazing with previous foster dog siblings but does not like the large male dog in his adoptive home or a small dog on a walk. We consider him to be dog selective so we would prefer to place him as an only dog to be safe. Cats: The jury is still out. He chases the cat, but has never harmed. House trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes, and strongly advised or he will chew and you will most likely lose your remote among other household tchotchkes. Moonlights as: Night club bouncer Life motto: “If no treats I’ll get your feets” Need to know: Our boy has a history of allergies, and will need constant upkeep of his skin folds and ears. Bulldog expertise is a plus. Biggie is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. Story
Ever met a living, snorting, walking cartoon? That’s West Lee. He’s a professional back-talker, four legged tornado of joy, chaos, and pure Wreck-It Ralph energy. Absolutely no concept of personal space or consequences, built like a tonka truck, and he’s all about that mouthy, goofy, relentless affection. Basically, West Lee is a 60 lb toddler full of personality stuffed into a wrinkle suit. If you’re a bulldog lover, then you definitely know the type. If anything of this intrigues you, keep reading and watch his video below. You’ll either be insanely entertained or better yet, you’ll be wanting to bring this adorable menace home: https://youtu.be/NhKfqZn0o08?si=Bcr7wm3lZ8SCapUj Mr. West Lee is estimated to be around two-years-old and is a bulldog mix weighing in at 60 lbs. With rescues we cannot guarantee age or breed given we do not know their past. This guy has the looks of a bulldog and he certainly has the personality to go along with it. West Lee is a classic bulldog through and through- built like a solid brick, handsome as all-get-out, a little stubborn because he can be, and considers himself to be a “foodie.” He can smell food from a mile away too. How he does that with all those wrinkles, we have no idea but he does. He’s a mild-mannered sweetheart until a crinkle bag announces the hunger games. West Lee would probably even sell me for a chicken nugget and not feel bad about it if he could. So safe to say that once food is involved, all loyalty is up for negotiation. West Lee is a bowling ball powered by Wreck-it-Ralph energy and has a sour patch kid personality. First he’s chaos, then he cuddles. Fair warning though, most cuddles with West Lee do end up with you covered in slobber, hair, and him very heavily breathing on you with his hot breath LOL. You gotta be someone that likes that type of affection. He stomps, snorts, and accidentally (debatable) redecorates your living room, so best of luck to your pillows. Consider him equal parts demolition crew and sugar-coated sweet heart. He is not for the faint of heart or the faint of food hoarder LOL. He will get those snackies. He is somewhat energetic for a bulldog mix but it makes for a good balance of goofy-boy with couch-potato tendencies. True to his bulldog nature, he’s better suited for short walks or backyard playtime rather than long-distance strolls anyway. A securely fenced yard would be ideal since he’s a curious explorer who likes to keep tabs on what’s happening outside. Are you someone that works from home? He’ll be great but hopefully you have extra paper copies of anything important, have toys out for him to play with, and aren’t going to be bothered by his hot heavy breathing. Sweet boy just can’t help it but be noisey. Even with toys, he loves the squeaky toys and likes to conduct his very own squeak symphony with all his favorite toys. It’s quite comical. West Lee is ready and waiting to find his perfect match: a family or person who appreciates his bulldog quirks and gives him the structure and security to thrive. In return for that (and a few treats) you will get a loyal, strikingly handsome companion who will keep life entertaining and people asking “Where did you get him? He is gorgeous!” Ready to add this speckle-nosed charmer to your life? Apply today! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/689a60c240bf23fc020254ff Questions? Story
Meet Iris Moon! 🌙💗 Hold onto your hearts, because Iris Moon is about to bulldoze her way right into them — literally and figuratively! This little nugget of joy is short, stocky, and made entirely out of sunshine, slobbery kisses, and wiggles. With her big expressive eyes, smooshy smile, and that perfect little nub tail that never stops wagging, she’s basically a walking serotonin boost. Iris is what we like to call a “tiny tank” — compact, confident, and completely hilarious. She plays like a true bulldog: all heart, all energy, and maybe a little chaos sprinkled in for fun. She’s all about body slams, joyful grunts, and rolling around with her doggy friends. She’s the life of the party in playgroup and does fantastic with other dogs who can handle her big bulldog enthusiasm. She’s currently fostered with larger pups who match her play style perfectly, and she’d love a home with another big doggy buddy — or she’d be just as happy being the center of attention as your one and only cuddle queen! Go see what this girl is all about in her video! https://youtu.be/Z2i608RWnoU?si=fwRhJ5fBC9cmbUIU When she’s not busy making everyone laugh with her silly antics, Iris is a total sweetheart. She adores her humans and wants nothing more than to be snuggled up next to them. Couch time? She’s there. Movie night? She’s got the popcorn eyes ready. Nap time? She’s your girl. She gives the kind of cuddles that make every bad day better. And don’t even get her started on toys — they are her absolute favorite thing in the world! Whether it’s squeaky, bouncy, or fluffy, she’ll carry it around proudly like it’s her greatest treasure. Pair that with her treat motivation and smarts, and she’s a total dream to work with. Iris is crate trained, doing great with her routines, and would thrive in either a cozy apartment or a home with a backyard. She’s a great little mix of energy and calm — playful when it’s time for fun, but gentle and mellow when it’s time to chill. She’s smaller in size, so she’s easy to handle on leash (even if she likes to pull a bit when she’s excited to explore). She’d be best in a home without cats (she thinks they’re a little too interesting!) and would love older kids who can keep up with her bulldog zoomies and occasional “I love you so much I’m gonna barrel into you” moments. Iris Moon is pure joy in dog form — a snorting, smiling, wiggle-butt ray of sunshine who loves big, plays hard, and cuddles even harder. She’s got the bulldog sass, the puppy heart, and the kind of sweetness that fills a home with laughter and love. Whoever adopts this little moonbeam is getting the best of both worlds — the goofy giggles and the softest snuggles imaginable. 💗 Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
What is squishy and snorty, has a curly-q tail and can make you laugh? That would be Callie! Callie is adoptable tiny bulldogish, pocket size, easygoing, kid loving, dog friendly and of course- snorts are included! We estimate Callie to be 2 years old, she weighs 52 lbs and may be a baked potato/bulldog mix but of course, no guarantees on breed or birthdate given she is a rescue. Those are just secondary details anyway, what you want to know is what makes her so freakin’ adorable! Take a looked see for yourself-https://youtu.be/duYJz2p5YqA First, Callie LOVES people, especially the little legged ones aka-kids. She’s gentle, affectionate, and somehow ups the fun factor. Littles are playing dress up, Callie will happily be a dress-up dog (good luck finding things that fit) but headbands almost always fit- and sunglasses those sometimes fit her big head. Don’t worry, adults are equally welcome to Callie’s good time. Best part is the little hops, tippy tapies and snorts are included. Callie is polite and appropriate with other dogs. She meets nicely on leash, happily shares space, and prefers a calm, easygoing dog friend rather than a rough, high-energy playmate. She’s more of a walk together, nap near you, coexist peacefully dog than a play-chase wrestler, and she’s pretty perfect at it! A mellow male dog who respects boundaries would be a great match for her but she is also a perfect candidate for only-dog life. You’re probably getting the full vibe of her by now but if you are a visual person- here is a video that brings her to life! Watch then come back to read more? Her overall vibe? Snuggly, silly, soft, and full of love. Callie is both house and crate trained, quiet in her kennel, a dream on leash (steady pace with cute little bursts of enthusiasm), affectionate and people-oriented, plus a super good time. Inside the home, she settles well, is low-maintenance, and is happiest when she’s lounging, snorting, or soaking up pets. Because of her bulldog build, Callie does best with shorter walks, especially in warm weather, a home that appreciates her slower pace, basically someone who loves snuggles as much as strolls. She could do well in an apartment as long as the family understands bulldog limits and is mindful of heat. Callie LOVES kids, and the affection is mutual. She best fits with older children-not because she’s unsafe, but because she can do little happy jumps and enthusiastic snorts that may overwhelm tiny toddlers. She is perfect for families with kids who have experience with dogs, can confidently tell her no if she jumps or tries to steal their lunch money, just kidding she is gentle with silly bulldog antics. Callie thinks cats are *very* interesting… a little too interesting. Basically, she needs a **no-cat household**. Let’s recap, Callie is happiness in a compact, wrinkly, snorty package. She’s gentle, people-loving, hilariously expressive, and wonderfully easy to have around. She’s the perfect mix of low-maintenance, affectionate companion and giggle-inducing goofball. Adopt her today! Ready to welcome Callie home? Apply here- https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69177cf85986522d890de21b Questions?
