Story
Gus is such a sweet boy! He was adopted about 6 years ago and recently returned to us because his owner had some medical issues come up that affected his ability to care for Gus any longer. Gus is about 7 year old and 45 lbs. He has the perfect underbite! He was very loved in his previous home and spent most days at home with his owner. He did go to the dog park, doggy daycare, and out to visit new friends on walks often though. Gus is currently in foster care and has behaved wonderfully with his one year old canine foster brother and can be found snuggling with his teenage human foster siblings on the regular. We know that his perfect new family is out there! Gus is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested negative for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
We would like you to meet Reign!  Reign is a stunning 3 year old English Bulldog that is looking for her forever home! Reign is a silly girl with a lot of personality once she trusts you, but she needs forever people that are willing to take it slow and let that trust build! Reign could live with another dog as long as her forever people take it slow and are willing to monitor closely for a bit. Reign will need to be fed separately from any dogs in the house. She would also be happy to be your one and only. Reign is good with kids but would do best with kids that are 10+ in the home. We are not sure how she is with cats, so a feline free home would be best. Reign is house broken and crate trained. Reign loves a good evening stroll and a stuffie to play with. She is happy to hang out and chill and be the best companion once she trusts you! Structure is important for all dogs, but Reign is very much the kind of bully girl that will think she runs the house if she is not kept in line with rules and boundaries. For this reason, we are looking for experienced owners for her and won’t be considering first time dog owners. Reign would love ongoing training as a way to form a bond with her humans. Previous experience with  brachycephalic dog breeds and their physical needs and limitations is also preferred.  Reign is a gem of a pup that is just looking for her people!  If you have room in your home and heart for Reign, please visit our website and fill out an application! Story
Name: Ken Nicknames: Kenny. Kenneth. Sex: Male Breed: Bulldog mix Age: 3-4 Years Weight:~46 lbs Before OMD: Found as a stray in the city park (he was more than thrilled to hop in the car with the officer who picked him up) and brought to the shelter, who then contacted us for help. Ken was emaciated, and had two large, deep wounds on his back end. Medical: Ken was initially hospitalized, and then shortly after, had a scrotal ablation and debridement and closure of his wounds. He has healed and gained weight beautifully with frequent small, nutritious meals. Key Descriptors: Exuberant. Silly. Aggressively loving. Goofy. Sweet. Catchphrases: Sublime! I am Kenough. Energy level: Medium – likes to play, would enjoy a long hike, but is also happy to bum it around the house in his sweats. What we love: His total exuberance for life. Toys? Loves them. People? Adores them. Treats? Best thing ever invented. What makes us laugh: Watching him look out at the world from a window for hours contemplating the meaning of life. His aggressive snorts when he is sniffing around. The way he rubs his back on the underside of furniture to scratch an itch. Affection rating: 10/10 – He would like to be part of you if that was an option. Bad boy behavior: He has a proclivity to eat non-food items when trapsing around outside, i.e. pinecones, acorns, road trash. What he knows: Sit. Just sit… What he’s working on: Keeping four on the floor. Less mouthing when playing. Better leash manner (he's loud and overstimulated on leash when he sees things he's excited about). Sleeping in past 5am. Dogs: Please! He’s still learning how to dog and would benefit from another confident canine in thehouse – his size or larger, please, as small dogs are way too exciting. Cats: We think this would not go well... Kids: Older ones please. He’ll bowl small ones over without a second thought and then steal their snacks right out of their sticky little fingers. House-trained: Working really hard – does best when kept on a frequent schedule. Crate-trained: Yes, does great in his crate after some initial barking in protest of you leaving him. Ken is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He is available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org.

Story
This smudgy little girl is WILLOW.  She also has 2 sisters available for adoption, SAGE & VIOLET.  They all 3 have different looks and personalities.  Their personalities have just started to develop but at 8 weeks old they are still young enough to train and mold into a great family pet. Currently they are sharing a play pen with a different set of puppies but they long to get out and play with the bigger dogs.  The puppies should get to be about 30 pounds as adults.  Their parents are medium size stocky and muscular dogs with very good temperaments. You are welcome to meet them anytime if you are local, if you are out of state, we will provide a video so you can see them in action.  These are funny and cute little puppies who would really love their own home. If you are interested in adopting one of them, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         September 20, 2023, 8:15 am

Story
Tank & Chrissy are gorgeous, gentle and very sweet purebred shar peis who were given up to the rescue after their owner in rural Mississippi passed away. They are just wonderful dogs, friendly and loving and very bonded. We would love for them to be adopted together. Tank and Chrissy are not siblings, their owner purchased them from a breeder with the intent to breed and then sell puppies. Chrissy had one litter and then her owner passed away. Wag spayed and neutered Tank and Chrissy once they came to the rescue, Wags also paid for necessary eye surgery for both dogs and they have recovered well. Unfortunately, they are both heartworm positive, but have a mild cases and are being treated. They will be two years old this summer. We have decided to list them now to see if we can find a potential adopter who is willing to adopt them together and either wait for them to finish their heartworm treatment or even adopt them and continue the treatment on their own. They really are extremely easy and just the nicest dogs and deserve a loving home of their own.   At the rescue Tank and Chrissy live with other dogs and are friendly to kids and are well socialized. They love to play together, adore toys and bones and are both major snuggle bugs. We have not listed an adoption fee for Tank and Chrissy—their vet bills have been into the thousands between the eye surgery, spay, neuter, and heartworm treatment, and we are not expecting that to be reimbursed but would like to discuss the fee with any potential adopters. Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3  where one woman cares for 150 dogs in a small town in Mississippi.   For more information on Tank & Chrissy please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com     May 1, 2024, 6:54 am
