Story
Chico is a 7 year old American Bulldog mix. He is such a sweet soul and gentle spirit. He settled into his foster home quickly and gets along with the resident dog perfectly. Chico is so cool, calm, and collected even when the resident dog is guarding his favorite toys. He wants nothing more than to cuddle up next to you on the couch and rest his head on your chest before taking a long nap. Don’t get up in the middle of the night! You may find Chico keeping your spot warm when you get back! He loves food, and will sit and shake for a tasty treat. He is easy to leash up, and walking him is a breeze as he hardly pulls at all. Chico still has lots of pep left for an older guy so one long walk a day would suffice for him as he is more than happy to lounge next to you the rest of the day after a good meal. If you are looking for someone to keep you warm for the winters to come, or a buddy to go on long road trips with, Chico is your guy!

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Rufio is an old english bulldog, is 3yo, weighs 91lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  Rufio is alone about 6 hours each day and is kept in his crate.  At night, he sleeps in his bed in the bedroom.  He needs to be restrained in the car or else he will climb all around.  He currently eats Royal Canin Ultamino. Rufio's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "He is very sweet but he was not well trained or socialized. He is too large and strong for me to keep under control and he has been injuring me when he plays or gets too excited. He needs an owner who is better able to handle him and a larger house." Rufio's guardian offers a brief a medical history: "He has significant allergies that he is currently seeing a dermatologist for.  He is on an elimination diet and medication." Rufio's guardian states the following regarding children:  Rufio hasn't lived with children, but his guardian recommends his living with children ages 12 and older, stating "Rufio is very large and strong and jumps on people.  He should not live with children under 12". Rufio's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Rufio hasn't lived with dogs, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "Rufio is not socialized around other dogs.  He is not aggressive but he comes on way too strong and escalates play quickly which scares other dogs". Rufio's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Rufio lives with a cat, so his guardian recommends his living with cats, stating "He mostly ignores my cat and doesn't chase her". Rufio's guardian describes him as: Quiet Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side Indoor Only Pet House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes women and men (takes a bit to warm up to men since he's priimarily exposed to women) Rufio's guardian describes his ideal future home: "Rufio needs a larger house preferably with a fenced yard to exercise in.  Ideally, his new owners would be strong enough to handle him physically." Story
Primrose, Princeton and Percival's mom was abandoned at a home when her previous owners moved out. She was left out on a chain to fend for herself. Luckily the neighbors realized she had been left behind and took her in. She was in horrible physical condition and pregnant by to neighborhood stray (a black lab) that would jump the fence when she was in heat. It was reported by the neighbors that these 2 had had multiple litters together but none of the puppies ever survived. The neighbors children fell in love with mom and they are keeping her but needed help rehoming her very last litter (we assisted in getting her spayed). These pups are the most laid back and chill group I have ever seen.

Story
Meet Your Unicorn Dog: Benny! Some dogs are good with cats. Some are good with dogs. Some are good with kids. Benny is good with all three--which is why we think he's the trifecta of perfection. Benny is a happy, social boy who loves everyone he meets and would love to be part of an adventurous, loving family. He's also very treat-motivated, making him eager to learn and easy to train. Although he's already fully house-trained, we're sure he would love to learn some new tricks to help entertain at your dinner parties. His favorite way to steal the spotlight? Chasing his tail whenever he thinks the cats are getting a little too much attention. If you're looking for a sweet, well-rounded companion with plenty of personality, Benny is your guy! My Profile Age: 2 years old Weight: 45-50 pounds Good with kids: Yes Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Yes Fenced yard: No Suitable for townhouse and/or apartment: Yes House trained: Yes Meet Me If you are interested in Benny, consider letting us know by filling out a (no-obligation) adoption application. Story
Current Location: Sykesville, MD Meet Scully 💕 1 to 2 year-old, handsome, sweet guy. He's got a big heart and a happy-go-lucky attitude. He is a silly boy that loves to play with anyone or any thing that will play with him. Even though Scully is an adult dog he acts like a 50 lb puppy. So he will need an active family and maybe another dog to play with. He likes walks, is friendly to EVERYONE he meets, does well in public places, and love to play with toys. He is great in his crate and snores the night away inside. He is also crated during the day without issue. He has been a big brother to several puppies in his foster home and is always gentle with them. He even lets them win at tug o' war. He is best in a home with another smaller dog and with a fenced yard as he needs to run and play. We are working on him NOT jumping on people, and he can be very mouthy especially when excited. He will need consistency in training to stop these 2 behaviors. He would do best in a family with older children as he does not realize his size or strength. So if you want a "Big Boy" who will happily ride in your truck and hang out in the park or cafe with you, then adopt this sweet, trusting, ingenuous dog today. - Good with dogs, puppies and little dogs - Good with cats - Crate trained - Potty trained - Very lovable and playful - Would do best in a home with a fenced yard - Prefers smaller dogs to be friends with (bigger dogs kinda scare him...lol)
