Story
HELLO! I'M BROWNIE!! It is a little embarrassing for a guy like me, but I am told by friends here that I am a real sweetie pie with the most charming smile and eyes that just melt your heart. Sadly, my Mom and Dad in my last home had to unexpectedly return me after six months to move to a place that did not allow pets. It was a devastating blow to us all because we were all living our happily ever after at the time. Luckily, I have had two great foster homes since then, and most recently, for several weeks! My foster family has been great and is working hard with me so I will be ready for my forever family! I have so many good qualities that I am going to list just a few of them for you. -house broken -sleep through the night -well mannered during family's mealtime -perfect gentleman on the leash in a neighborhood -do not get on the furniture -comfortable with guests to the home and their petting -no resource guarding -pleasantly calm most of the time -like naps I really appreciate a good walk with lots of sniffs and always take treats gently that are offered along the way. Although I am no retriever, I enjoy time in the yard rolling around on my back and getting lots of scritches and belly rubs. I love a good squeaky toy, but I may do better with a Nylabone type toy that I cannot chew to pieces. Sometimes I forget my good manners and jump up, but I am working hard with my foster Mom to correct this! Most of the time I greet her on my back now looking for a belly rub instead, and we are both happy with this arrangement! My ideal home would be a place where my owners are around most of the time and I am the only pet in the home. I do not like being crated but have shown to be reliable when free-roaming while alone. A Nylabone type toy to chew on might also work well as a release for some of my stress and anxiety when left alone or just for fun during the day! If you are looking for the companionship of a sweet, well-mannered, low-key dog that will greet you everyday with a smile and a wiggle waggle, come out and meet me and see if we might be a perfect match! Here are some quotes from some of my admirers: "'He is such a good boy, great on a walk and just as sweet as he can be. Those eyes just melt your heart; "Loves his walks and his treats - takes them from your hand like a gentleman; "Such a cutie pie - one of my favorites; "Took Brownie out today and he was so excited to join me! He's such a curious guy - loves to sniff around; "I walked Brownie today and he is so easy on the leash and is so eager to please. Such a sweet guy.

Come meet adoptable dogs every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM - 4 PM at our Adoption Center located at 11116 Fairfax Station Rd. Fairfax Station, VA 22039. We can also schedule time to meet a specific dog at the Adoption Center during the week by appointment - just fill out the application and we will follow up with you! For animals in foster homes, please submit an online application and a member of our Adoptions team will reply with next steps. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail it to: sheilamcgee2001@yahoo.com PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ Adoption Coordinator: Sheila (sheilamcgee2001@yahoo.com) Location: Foster home in the DC metro area Cali is a sweet 6-8 year old love bug packed into a 29 lb body! She is a sweet and friendly, affectionate girl who loves being around people, including children. Her foster mom describes her as "super chill and very friendly!" She has also been doing a great job with house training. She's the perfect companion for exploring, whether it be long walks or fun hikes! She loves exploring in the yard and does well around other dogs, and is doing a fantastic job since she arrived from rural southwest Virginia. Luckily, because of the generosity of an amazing foster family, we were able to spring Cali from the rural southwest Va shelter she was stuck in. It was just in the nick of time, too, because the shelter is so crowded that sadly, they are having to euthanize dogs just because they have no space for them. :( Sweet Cali does well with other dogs, and loves all people she meets. We do not know how she is with cats. Cali gets attached to her people quickly and is a very loyal pup. Cali will need a person or family committed to making sure she gets the exercise, training and attention that any dog needs. Could YOU be her forever person or family?? She certainly hopes so!! The adoption fee for this dog is $475. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts! We are proud to partner with the following veterinarians who offer a free first exam for your animal, exclusively for HT adopters: Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Sunshine Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals. Additionally, any VCA hospital will cover illnesses up to $250 at no cost to any Homeward Trails adopter. We also provide free online workshop with a professional dog trainer at Fur-Get Me Not within the first 30 days of adopting - just for HT adopters in the Arlington/Alexandria/Falls Church/DC area. Start your new dog out on the right foot with this valuable, expert guidance FREE! You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like way stations between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please check out our information about fostering by visiting http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. Mikey is a Bulldog/Boxer mix (according to the vet). DOB: 8/27/22. He is a very sweet, loving dog and loves to play with other dogs. He loves to walk and enjoys being stroked and messaged. He will probably gain a little more weight but not much. He is expected to be about 45# when grown. With this breed of dog, you have to keep in mind that their muscles are VERY dense and weigh more than most other dogs. He is 17” tall … 22” long…not very tall. Mikey is crate trained and does well in the crated for a few hours and then I take him outside to play and potty. Mikey has the energy of a puppy but when he goes to his crate he quickly goes to sleep. He loves having cool air from a fan put on me and loves relaxing music. He does well riding in a vehicle. The rain doesn't bother him. He has only come across cats on his walks and he is curious but doesn't show signs of wanting to eat them... :) He is well-behaved and is the center of attention wherever he goes. Mikey is great for a loving family or mature couple. Bulldogs are stubborn and not always best for younger children. Would not recommend children under 12. He has a puppy energy level so he is not recommended for apartments… a tired dog is a sleepy dog…that does not get into trouble. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
Personality: Friendly, serious, adventurous, easygoing, adaptable, gentle, smart, loyal, defensive, and independent. No, this dapper red fellow isn't an adorable fox; it's 8-year-old Rambler, who can't wait to be your new best friend! Rambler is a senior gentleman who enjoys the simpler things in life: walks, pets, exploring the outdoors, and lounging around the house. Rambler is filled with curiosity, loves walk time, and has no problem approaching humans and asking for pets. Most of the time, he is just happy to chill with you and relax. Rambler's favorite time of the day is when he gets a treat, and he will sit and wait with a huge smile on his face in anticipation! This friendly guy isn't just good looks; he also has been picking up his training quickly and already knows the words "sit," "stay," "come," and "shake paws." Not surprisingly, he is very treat motivated! While Rambler is still getting accustomed to being in a crate, he will happily hang out around the house and amuse himself if his humans are busy. Because he sometimes barks in response to unexpected noises, Rambler would love to be in a single-family home where loud sounds (such as door slams and neighbors moving about) are limited so he can devote 100% of his attention to loving on his people. This sweet boy is looking to settle down in his forever home. Apply today to meet Rambler! __________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a DOG: http://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-dogs.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained. We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.

Story
Male, approx. 1 year old, 54 lbs. Personality: Smart, snuggler, goofy/funny, adaptable, energetic, affectionate, playful, eager-to-please, outgoing, and loyal. Blake is a people pleaser - he loves hugs and cuddles and has learned that if he rests his head on his human's leg while they are working, there's a chance the human will stop to give pets or play. Blake is a fast learner and already knows several words, including "sit, "down, and "leave it. He's also made terrific progress on house training and leash walking. Blake loves to play with his toys and recently started understanding how to play fetch. He'll go for as long as you are willing to throw his toys! Blake loves to romp with other dogs in parks or at daycare, but he is nervous around children and would do best in a home only with adults. Are you looking for a cuddle bug? Apply today to meet Blake! _________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.
