Marley is a sweet and loving Basset Hound/Mix. She was born on 5-24-15, and weighs 43lbs. She has a wonderful presence about her that just makes you feel good - she is pure love! Marley is a low energy gal, who prefers an evening stroll, followed by a treat. She is crate trained, house trained, and can be trusted when left out in the house alone. This loving girl is friendly with everyone she meets - adults and kids! She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Arlo is a tricolor purebred Basset Hound and almost 4 years old. I bought him from a backyard breeder during Covid and I don’t think he was treated well as a puppy. Arlo is very food aggressive and can be a very jealous dog.I believe he would thrive in a single dog home! He is a great cuddler, loves walks outside, sleeping on my bed, doesn’t mind baths and is house broken. He can be stubborn, picky with food, hates loud noises and doesn’t get along with my other male dogs. He is friendly with cats but may get jealous of other animals if around them for long. He just doesn’t get along with other dogs for some reason but he loves humans, especially those who give him belly rubs, treats and pets. He is up to date on shots, recently checked for heart worm and on a heart worm preventative.

Daniel came to BHRG from the shelter in Floyd County where his owners left him. This red & white boy is 15 years old. He is healthy, neutered, and ready for adoption. He loves all kinds of attention. He likes to play with the other dogs in our home. He is nearly housetrained and is doing well with his crate training. Even though he was left to fend for himself, he hasn't displayed any food aggression towards the other dogs. His ears are so long that they lay in his water bowl when he is drinking. He loves to go for walks with his foster family and walks very well on his leash. He's very loving, has been starved for affection, and really needs a stable home. We think his name should be "George", as in Curious George, because he is always snooping around and looking for something to investigate. He is super-protective of his "person" and needs a dog-savvy, "alpha" person who can discipline him and keep him from being a "brat". A home without children would be best for Daniel. Oakley is a super sweet red & white, 14-year-old old girl. Oakley is mourning the loss of her partner, Wagner, who recently went to the Rainbow Bridge. She is learning to continue life on her own. Oakley loves car rides and walks, and she is crate trained and knows the dog door. We suggest no small children for her. She is very agile, does stairs, and can get on furniture easily. She will get on those counters, so watch where you put your food. She would love for you to pet her all day long. She will get as close to you as she can and give lots of nudges. Oakley loves to play with other dogs and will bark to get them to play with her, but she does tend to be the alpha. An adoption application is required but does not commit you to adoption. Could you use a little "Joy" in your life? She originally came in to the care of BHRG 5 years ago. She's older now, but still spunky as she demands to be the queen of her castle and the only canine her adult humans adore (she doesn't appreciate the young two leggers either). She's on anti seizure meds and they're working quite nicely for her. If you have a home that fits this description, Joy will gladly do her best to love you the rest of her days.
