Arlo is a tricolor purebred Basset Hound and 5 years old. I bought him from a backyard breeder during Covid and I don’t think he was treated well as a puppy. Arlo is VERY food aggressive with other animals around and can be a very jealous dog. I BELIEVE HE WOULD THRIVE IN A SINGLE DOG HOME WITH NO OTHER ANIMALS! He is a great cuddler, loves taking walks outside, sleeps anywhere and everywhere, is house broken and used to a kennel. He can be stubborn with commands, picky with food, hates loud noises and doesn’t get along with my other male dogs. He is friendly with cats but may get jealous of other animals if around them for long. He just doesn’t get along with other dogs for some reason but he LOVES HUMANS, especially those who give him belly rubs and treats. He is up to date on all his shots, recently checked for heart worm and on a heart worm preventative. He can get stinky but I think that comes with the breed. He doesn’t mind having his ears cleaned or taking baths.

We are seniors and adopted peanut and piglet ( daughter and mother) from a shelter near Chattanooga TN in 3/23 after our dog passed of old age and illness in 2/23. We had planned to adopt a poodle but she turned out to have serious biting issues. We love the girls but they were untrained and can’t deal with other dogs though they are good with our 5 year old granddaughter. We can’t train them we did get them vaccinated and spayed and microchipped. After several applications for her mother we have decided that we can’t separate the girls. Meet Burt – A Certified Good Boy with a Sniff for Adventure Burt is a ridiculously handsome 3-year-old tri-color beagle with a heart of gold and a nose that never quits. He’s neutered, potty trained, and basically the canine version of a great roommate—clean, friendly, and always down to hang out. Burt is a social guy who loves people, kids, other dogs, and even cats (yep, even cats). He’s the type who prefers not to be alone for long, so he’d be happiest in a home where someone’s around most of the time or where he has a furry sibling to keep him company. Unlike your typical beagle stereotype, Burt isn’t much of a talker. He’s relatively quiet, which is great news for your neighbors. He also walks well on a leash and has a low to medium energy level. He enjoys lounging but loves having a fenced yard to explore and sniff every blade of grass like it’s his job (because it is).
