Story
Meet Highland! This 4-year-old Basset Hound mix is a sweet, slightly goofy, and affectionate soul with a gentle heart. Highland is looking for a calm and patient home where he can truly thrive. Though he can be a bit nervous at times, especially in new situations, he warms up beautifully with kindness and encouragement—and once he trusts you, he’s incredibly loving and loyal. Highland walks well on a leash, rides great in the car, and knows basic commands like “sit” and “wait.” He’s eager to please and picks up new things quickly, including mastering stairs! He’s been friendly and gentle when meeting people of all ages, including small children, and has done well with men—he even adored one of our male volunteers' husbands. While he was unsure about a large picture of a cat, we’re not yet certain how he feels about real cats. This sensitive boy would do best in a quieter home, ideally without young children, though older kids and adults are perfectly fine. He thrives on gentle affection, loves to snuggle, and will happily soak up all the pets and treats you can offer. Highland is not just a loyal companion—he’s a fun-loving pup who’s sure to bring warmth and smiles to the right home. Highland currently weighs about 53lbs., is approximately 4 years/months old (est. birth date 11/22/2020), and his adoption fee is $315. Highland has been neutered/spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Highland, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
We are seniors and adopted peanut and piglet ( daughter and mother) from a shelter near Chattanooga TN in 3/23 after our dog passed of old age and illness in 2/23. We had planned to adopt a poodle but she turned out to have serious biting issues. We love the girls but they were untrained and can’t deal with other dogs though they are good with our 5 year old granddaughter. We can’t train them we did get them vaccinated and spayed and microchipped. After several applications for her mother we have decided that we can’t separate the girls. Check out her mom piglet’s profile

Meet Sueno – A Wiggly-Tailed Lovebug Ready for His Forever Home! Sueño is a playful, affectionate, and well-mannered companion who’s ready to bring endless joy to your life. This sweet pup loves to cuddle on the couch, shower you with affection, and impress you with his smarts—he already knows commands like sit, shake, and "no!". He has made incredible progress since entering foster care—and he’s ready to charm his way into your heart. This lovable guy is a social butterfly once he feels safe. He’s also made plenty of dog friends, playing gently and giving great signals—even when dealing with overexcited puppies. An adventure enthusiast, Sueño adores car rides, long walks, and playtime with his toys. He’s also house-trained, polite around food, and non-destructive when left alone. While he’s still working on some leash manners and overcoming mild resource guarding, he’s a quick learner and shows amazing self-regulation. Blue came to work it out on the farm. He was working on socialization, crate training, and manners. He is a well oiled machine now. Well, a short stack well oiled machine. Honestly, he makes us laugh. He is the toughest cutest thing you will ever see. It is like you can hear him saying - it isn't funny. He is a 4 year old basset hound mix. He loves people and loves to play play play!
