WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌟🐾 Meet Gypsy — Short Legs, Big Heart, Still Waiting 💛🐾 Gypsy has been waiting… and waiting… and waiting. And honestly? She’s waited far too long for a girl this special. At 2 years old and 28 pounds, Gypsy is a delightful blend of Cattle Dog smarts and Basset Hound charm — think low-rider body, big-dog energy, and a personality that could light up a room. She’s basically the off-road model of a best friend: compact, sturdy, and always ready for an adventure. Gypsy LOVES her walks and is getting better and better on leash every day. She’s happiest when she’s outside, exploring the yard, supervising chores, or keeping an eye out for squirrels (her self-appointed job, and she takes it very seriously). When playtime winds down, she’s just as content following her favorite human around like a loyal little shadow. She’s playful, affectionate, and full of goofy charm. Toys are fun. Shoelaces are very intriguing. And her signature low-rider zoomies? Absolutely legendary. 🐾 Gypsy’s Highlights: ✅ 2 years old, 28 lbs ✅ Dog-friendly ✅ House & crate trained ✅ Loves walks and outdoor time ✅ Sweet, silly, and full of personality ✅ Equal parts sass, snuggles, and sunshine While Gypsy does great with other dogs, cats are an unknown — mostly because Gypsy believes squirrels are public enemy #1 — so she may prefer a home without feline roommates. What Gypsy really wants, though, isn’t much. She wants a family who will love her quirks, laugh at her goofy legs, and finally give her the forever home she’s been patiently waiting for. She’s ready to be someone’s hiking buddy, couch companion, and daily dose of happiness. 💛 Gypsy has so much love to give — she just needs someone to give her a chance. Short legs. Big heart. Endless loyalty. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Gypsy finally stop waiting and start living the life she deserves. 🐾💛

Story
We recently adopted Dusty from a rescue facility, as he had been there only a couple of weeks. We have had Dusty for a few or so months, he truly is a great dog, I just don’t have a lot of time to be with him due to having to switch jobs and Dusty loves to be around people. I also have a couple older geriatric cats that I’ve had for over 14-15 years and they have just not adjusted well. He is very high energy and very active. He’s very adventurous and always curious of everything, always in search of something and being mischievous. He would be a good fit for someone who can spend lots of time with him and can continuously keep up with him. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle! He is still learning. Dusty appreciates slow introductions with other dogs and has been in doggie daycare 3x a week with our other dog so he is well accustomed to smaller breeds. My significant other works for a vets office and would appreciate to see veterinary records of other animals he’ll be meeting.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.Meet Spot! Spot is a 2 and a half year old beagle basset mix hoping Santa brings him a new home for the holidays! He is about 26 pounds and up to date on shots and neutered. Spot is your typical beagle basset who is high energy and has a tendency to grab his own treats off the counters! He is house trained and crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. He was relinquished to OBHR because he was one of 4 high energy dogs in the house and it was too much to handle. Basically because he is a hound dog! So if you are familiar with hounds he will fit right into your family! He will need a home with a fenced in yard and someone who can keep him active and exercised! He loves to play with his toys and snuggle, go for hikes and loves ice cubes and baby carrots! His adoption fee is $300 and he is currently located in Columbus.  if interested please apply at ohiobassetrescue.com and once approved email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Sally (Ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.Meet the precious Ms Olive who is looking for a new forever home through no fault of her own. Her former owner unfortunately had a major medical issue and the family had to find her a new home because they had a lot on their plate taking care of their loved one. Olive, 6.5 yrs old,  is a typical basset in many ways except one…she is small for a basset weighing in at only 39 pounds! She is house trained, knows how to use a dog door, and is good with other dogs, cats and kids! Her only downfall is she can be a bit of a basshole at times when she is say on the couch and another dog walks by. She won’t attack but will give them some grumbles, her foster brother however just give her a look like “whatever” and wave a paw in the air and walk away! So she is ok in public with other dogs and will do fine in a home with laid back well adjusted dogs. Olive will require a home with a fence and she is up to date, spayed and chipped. Olive is currently being fostered midway between Toledo and Detroit. Her adoption fee is $300. We adopt to Ohio and bordering states only. Please apply online at ohiobassetrescue.com and anyone approved within 6 months email us at ohbassetrescue@yahoo.com. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 4, 2026, 3:57 pm
