Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Miracle. Miracle was found through a tag on Facebook. She was living on the streets of Weslaco, TX. Drinking muddy water out of a hole in the road. Her rescuer reached out pleading for help on Facebook. That’s when BRAT stepped up. A Christmas Miracle truly happened. Miracle’s journey began when her first rescuer picked her up in Weslaco and took her to Mission. At that time she was given a bath. Miracle was covered in fleas and ticks. She was given food and a warm place to sleep for the night. The following day she was taken to Three Rivers where she was passed off to her next destination. Cibolo TX. Cibolo’s vet offices are extremely booked this time of year but just like her name a miracle happened. The Vet office had a cancelation at last minute. That evening she was taken to her next stop. Where she received another bath. Just like the first one, it was filthy. Her ears were cleaned, she was offered food, water, and a soft bed. She slept all night. The next day she went the vet where she was told she had heartworms, long nails, a weak positive result for anaplasmosis. She was also told she was 5lbs underweight. Her fecal came back clean! Miracle was prescribed medications to help her start to feel better. Her nails were trimmed and the doctor recommended a probiotic to help with her digestive issues. Miracle has spent the last few days in Cibolo. Resting, healing, and learning how to be a dog. She is a very sassy girl with a very big diva personality. She is what her second foster calls her, a sour patch kid. She’s a sour sassy diva with boundaries but then the sweet submissive, eager to please, hound who melts your heart when she wiggles her tail. Miracle has confidence and a fighter’s spirit. Monday she heads to her final Destination in McKinney, TX; Where her Foster Dad will take her in and continue the healing process. This sweet girl got a TRUE Christmas Miracle.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 26, 2023, 2:01 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi! My name is Gus. I came to BRAT from Lubbock, TX where I was found as a stray. A nice lady was able to keep me safe until BRAT could come and pick me up. They took me to the vet and I was able to get a clean bill of health and am ready to find my forever home. My foster says I am very sweet, do well with her dogs, and love to play and cuddle! Would you be my furever family today?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 26, 2023, 2:01 pm

Story
Hoss and Sugar were 2 of 17 dogs left behind in deplorable conditions following the death of their owner in Jan 2021  The living conditions were beyond disgusting and absolutely horrific.  Several rescues and volunteers came together, over a span of several days, to save all the dogs, and Hoss and Sugar came with us. Out of the 17 dogs, a handful of them got sick and passed away, the rest got adopted.  Hoss and Sugar are the only ones still left without a home. They are both extremely sweet and have the cutest personalities! Hoss and Sugar love their humans, and given the oppertunity, will spend every moment possible with them.   They like to trot around carrying stuffed animals in their mouths and playing keep away from one another.  They are nothing but two sweet old souls and big babies who love to be loved. Hoss and Sugar eat together, sleep together, play together and love one another very much.  They share well and really are the best of friends.  We would absolutely LOVE to find them a home together where they could relax and enjoy all the good things life has to offer which they were never given before. Both are dog friendly but have not met a cat.  Both warm up to kids, Sugar takes a bit longer, but for their own peace, a home with older or no kids would be the best fit for these two.  Ideally, we would love to find them a quiet home with an adult human companion or two that could spoil them completely rotten and give them all their love and attention!  (not a requirement of course but we can hope) If you're interested in finding out more about Hoss and Sugar and if they would be a good fit in your home, please submit an application to adopt or foster this pair!  We would love to discuss any thoughts or concerns with you and help you welcome them into their new home! **Seniors interested in adopting this pair** We know money can be tight so please contact us about special adoption rates.  We are also more than happy to throw in a year of heartworm prevention for both Hoss and Sugar and a couple bags of food and stuffed toys to get you going! Please submit an application here or on our website, www.MarleighsFriends.org ##938872##

Story
Scooter has settled into his foster home very nicely. He is fully vetted, chipped, house trained, crate trained and knows how to use a doggy door. Scooter loves to play and wrestle with the Great Dane rescue and LOVES walks! Of course, he hasn't actually learned his lane etiquette yet, but we are working on that! Scooter also loves car rides and does well in the car. He does well around small children, doesn't try to jump on them and he pretty much ignores the cats. For an older guy he seems pretty sharp and quick to learn. In fact, the only thing about Scooter is he snores!!! LOUDLY. But that's okay because when he loses the few extra pounds he is carrying, that may just go away. This is a sweet gently dog with a true beagle bark and just wants a human to call his own. If you are interested in our Scooter, please email me with any questions you might have juanita@muttsandmittens.org
