The Stats Beagle/Plot Hound Neutered Male 60 lbs. Incredibly smart 9 months old No cats These Things Best Describe Ranger Food motivated Toy motivated Cuddler Loves his people Good around other dogs Basic obedience High energy RIDICULOUSLY CUTE Are you looking for a silly, charming, showoff who is a secret cuddler? Ranger may be right for you. He is a good natured puppy who enjoys the company of other dogs. He is a hound mix with a sniffer that the greatest bloodhounds would envy. He is not cat or other small animal friendly as that sniffer of his will not give up. Ranger is so smart and loves to please. He has taken to training like a hound to sniffing – he’s a natural! His training has been treat focused, positive reinforcement and force free. He knows Sit, Stay, Leave It, Doggie Zen, and Gentle. He’s mostly got Down (laying down) but is still working on it. He is not kennel trained and loves to sleep alongside his people. While most of his destructive puppy days are behind him, he is still a high energy pup that needs the companionship of a kind human to help reinforce manners with love. Kids are great but Ranger doesn’t understand how strong or heavy he is so older kids are best. He is housetrained and uses a dog door. Please visit MFDM.org to fill out an adoption application!

Story
Meet Churro! This sweet 2-year-old beagle/border terrier mix is looking for his forever home. Churro has had a difficult start to life - he and his sister were surrendered to a person as young puppies and did not receive much positive human interaction. Understandably, this has made Churro a very shy and nervous boy. But Churro loves other dogs and gets all his confidence from canine companions. When around other dogs, he really comes out of his shell! He enjoys playing, though he can be a bit spazzy and fast which leaves his playmates in the dust. Churro will need a very patient, adult-only home with no children. His new family must allow Churro ample time and space to learn to trust at his own pace. Confident resident dogs are ideal to help Churro continue building confidence. He will also need a securely fenced yard, as his terrier instincts make him prone to chasing small animals. While Churro may not become the world's cuddliest dog, he has so much love to give to a patient, understanding family. He just needs extra help overcoming his shy nature to thrive. If you can provide the right environment for this sweet boy, apply to meet him today at www.fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication!

Story
Penelope was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico   We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs.  Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive.  From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. Thus, dog breed is generally a poor predictor of individual behavior and should not be used to inform decisions relating to selection of a pet dog" - https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.abk0639 ##1984350##

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Walter, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** There's nothing like sweet puppy energy and silliness! They make us smile and laugh so easily with their silly wiggly bodies! After a long day of work or just life in general, watching your puppy run and skid across the floor will always put a smile on your face. Walter is believed to be a Dachshund / Beagle mix. At just 4 months old and 9 lbs (estimated to be about 25 lbs full grown), he is a perfect size to hike the Colorado trails and then at day's end, snuggle close all night long. Walter was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston, TX, where he found himself stuck in a tiny, scary kennel after being relinquished with his littermate. From Walter’s foster: “Walter is the best puppy ever!! He’s so fun and wiggly and sweet. He loves the kids and lets them hold/handle him. He is truly the best!!” Since Walter is just a puppy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. He will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free level 1 Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in their relationship/bonding with their people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior. Walter is up to date on his shots, although will still require a few more as he gets a bit older, before it is safe to go out on public ground. He has yet to be neutered. We cover the cost of his neuter at our approved Vet Clinic. Neuter is required to be done before he turns 1 year old, and required to finalize any adoption. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com.

Story
Meet Prince, our affectionate young Beagle Heeler and maybe boxer Mix puppy. Prince is likely to be a medium sized dog fully grown.  Here is the bio his foster wrote about him:Prince is the firstborn of the Pumpkin patch litter, and though he may be the smallest he’s also one of the mightiest. He’s not overly talkative, but will let you know when he needs some cuddles or help. He’s still navigating going down the stairs, but is learning quickly how to use his tiny legs. He is incredibly affectionate and loves taking naps with his foster humans, and loves chewing on rope toys and antlers. He loves meeting new people, and is a bit timid when exploring. He’s the type of pup to follow the lead of his humans closely. He is very submissive when playing with his littermates, but never turns down a good game of tug of war with his humans. Prince is good with dogs, cats and kids. Prince is currently living with his 3 siblings and his mum in his foster home but he is ready to be adopted as he is already around 10 weeks old. Prince's mum was a 30lb beagle heeler mix.  Prince is vaccinated and microchipped, ready for his new Colorado home and lifestyle. He is around 10 weeks old and weighs 15lbs. His neuter is included in the adoption fee, which is $600. Prince knows just how miraculous a turn his life has taken when he was picked out by Havok’s Wolfpack and he is determined to live his new life to the fullest in the most playful and adventurous way, hopefully, with you. If you are interested in adopting Prince, please submit an adoption application here: www.havokswolfpack.com/adopt If your application is approved, we will contact you promptly. ##1911043##
