Story
This little guy is very sweet and cute. He is a perfect size at around 22 lbs and heartworm negative. I think this lowrider would be an excellent companion at 7 years old, as he was very laid back and sweet. He loved giving kisses nonstop and was inquisitive about all the noises around him. He seeks affection and will run towards you when he notices you're there. He is leery of other dogs when on a walk and has some nervous energy and for that reason will be best in a home with a fenced in yard for him to explore. Kids are not a favorite of his so no small children.

Story
Meet Betsy, Your Snuggle Under the Blankets Bestie Betsy is a sweet, soulful 9.5-year-old Beagle who is ready for her next chapter. She is a classic tricolor beauty with soft eyes, a gentle spirit, and a heart that absolutely loves being part of her person’s daily life. Her favorite hobbies include going for walks, putting her beagle nose to work, and curling up under a cozy blanket for a nap. If you are looking for a loyal companion who enjoys simple routines and quiet comfort, Betsy is your girl. Betsy has a mild, easygoing energy level. She will happily join you for a stroll and then settle in by your side for the rest of the day. She knows several cues including sit, down, stay, come, and even a cute little dance. She is also crate trained and housetrained when monitored, and she thrives with clear structure. Like many beagles, Betsy has a big love for food, and she will do best in a home that can help her feel safe and supported around mealtimes. She would truly shine in an adult only home or a calm environment without small children where her space can be respected and her meals can be managed with ease. She has lived peacefully with other dogs in the past but prefers a home without small animals and would likely do well as the only pet or with other respectful dogs.  She is hoping for a warm, understanding place to spend her golden years where she can enjoy companionship, comfort, and all the cozy blanket naps she loves most.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Pops finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Meet Pops | 7-year-old Beagle | Playful, Cuddly, and Curious Meet Pops, a lovable 7-year-old Beagle who perfectly balances playtime and relaxation. Pops is house-trained (though, like any dog, occasional accidents may happen as he adjusts to a new home), sleeps soundly through the night in his crate, and is a total gentleman when left home alone. He’s happiest with a few daily walks and loves playing tug-of-war or games where he has to search for treats. For downtime, he enjoys cuddling on the couch or lounging in a recliner chair. True to his Beagle nature, Pops loves to follow his nose and can get excited when he spots rabbits, squirrels, or other dogs during walks. He’s been working with a trainer and continues to make progress with his leash manners. He does best with smaller dogs and can be reactive toward dogs his size or larger, so a home without other big dogs would be ideal. Pops adores human companionship—he’ll happily curl up beside you on the couch or rest his head on your lap. Motivated by both food and affection, he thrives with a little structure and consistency. Pops would be happiest in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can safely sniff, explore, and satisfy his curious Beagle instincts. The ideal home for Pops will be active and structured, with someone who enjoys outdoor adventures as much as he does, no cats, and children aged 10 and up. With his affectionate nature, playful spirit, and love of snuggles, Pops is ready to be both your adventure buddy and your cozy companion at the end of the day.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Dare is a sweet pup. He is a bit shy at first but after a week of fostering him, he has really opened up.  He will need a little time and patience. He will lay down and show his belly for you. He loves belly rubs and scratches on his head and behind his ears. He's silly when he's outside doing his zoomies. He loves his foster dog siblings and feels comfort in them.  He does take direction from them. He would benefit from having another dog around. He sleeps by our bed in a crate for 7 hours without a peep and does not need to go outside in the night. He does not do stairs (only attempted 5 of 15) but you can tell he wants to go up them. I have had to carry him up and down the stairs and he does not love it but allows you to carry him. He'll get there! He has learned the dog door by watching his foster siblings. We have not attempted walking him with a leash just yet as we want him to feel more comfortable.  Dare is such a cute pup who needs a little patience and guidance navigating his new life. Will you be the one to help him on his journey? This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico.  While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.   More questions?  Read our FAQs here: https://4p4l.org/faqs/  Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.  ##2581719##

Story
I'm Auggie! I'm around 2 and am the cutest Beagle/Weimaraner mix and about 35lbs. I am shy at first but once I warm up I'm friendly and love to play. I come out of my shell around other dogs and need another doggy friend in the home to spend my days with! I walk well on leash and am very gentle. I have a good energy level and like to relax, but I am eager to play with my buddies! I made my way here from NM after I was saved from the euth list. Could you be a part of my new life? Come meet me!
