Details

Story
This handsome boy is 1-year-old Twix. This beagle/lab/pointer mix was surrendered to PAWS by his owner as family members developed allergies to his fur. Potential adopters should be aware that he does shed. Twix is a sweet boy who knows his sit and down commands and loves to meet new people. He has a lot of energy and can be a bit of a puller on the leash. But he is eager to please and should respond well to consistent training. He lived with an 11-year-old boy and was good with him, and he plays well with other dogs. Twix is housetrained and partially crate trained. Twix would do best in an active household where he can get lots of exercise. He will make an ideal hiking/jogging/swimming companion. Twix is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.

Story
Freddie is a 4-year-old Beagle/Basset Hound mix who was surrendered to PAWS by his owner due to his high energy. Freddie is a very friendly guy who is happy to meet new people. He is good with other dogs and lived with one, but we are told he is not very interested in playing with them and prefers to explore on his own. Freddie can be a big digger (no leaving this guy alone in the yard!) and we are told he is quite the counter surfer. He will even open metal cans with his teeth to get to the contents. In spite of his mischievousness, however, Freddie is such a happy and fun boy, that you can't help but immediately fall in love. An active household would be a great fit for him. Freddie is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.

Story
Sarai is a sweet rose. She likes to be the center of attention so I would recommend a family with no other animals. She was around my newborn and she was always the kindest and loved guarding her wherever she went. She is a lap dog. She believes life is about cuddles and kisses. She is very loyal and would prefer kisses in the morning and cuddles at night. She is the definition of a dog baby. She is an energetic breed so she needs a backyard to run around and walks. She deserves the world because she gives the world. Unfortunately I have become very allergic to her post partum so I need to rehome and my husband being military can’t be here to help me with her.

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION Pringles is currently in foster care in Houston, Tx, We ship our dogs with Mighty Mutt Shipping IF INTERESTED THERE IS AN APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE https://www.houstonshaggydogrescue.org/apply/ This sweet boy has had a rough life, he is approx 4 years old and 43 lbs.. we are not sure of his breed mix, but he may have some Beagle/lab in him.. he is a really nice dog, when we rescued him from the local shelter, he had been found dragging his back leg into a local business and they called animal control to pick him up, his left back leg was broken in several places and he had heart worms. we treated his heartworms according to the AHS recommendations but our Orthopedic Surgeon was unable to repair his leg as it was an old injury and had already set into place, so the only option was to amputate .. he hops around really well and is a lot happier now that he does not have to drag his leg around, he is house and crate trained and will run into his crate to sleep and will hang out in a doggie bed with the other dogs during the day..he is a bit of a Loner and doesn't like to play with the other dogs, but does well with them, he would rather hang out with a chew stick... so he would be a great companion for someone as an only dog or with a sweet laid back buddy.. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE IN HOUSTON, TX OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years. This adorable girl is Patsy. She is a 4-year-old beagle mix and weighs 28 lb. Her foster says "Patsy is an absolute sweetheart and a pleasure to have. She's friendly with people and other dogs. She is super affectionate when it's time to relax on the couch. Patsy loves food, loves to go on walks and fancies running after squirrels. Patsy is one of the easiest dogs I've ever fostered. She is still working on housetraining and leash skills, but sleeps great all night on the couch." Patsy would do well in a home with children of all ages. Chrissy (5/22)

Beagle German Shepherd Dog

Female, 3 mos
Southbury, CT
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Chrissy is the sweetest puppy that is one of the Three's Company trio. She, along with her sister and brother, were rescued from a rural area where they had been left by someone who didn't want them. That's where CPR comes in and takes her into rescue and they will never have to long for food and shelter again. Chrissy is about 12 weeks old and is looking for her new family. She loves to play with the other fosters at her foster mom's home, whether big or small dogs. She loves to explore the big backyard and run and play with her siblings too. Chrissy will make a great addition to any family and will be a treasured dog that will love you unconditionally. Go ahead and apply for her today!! Chrissy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
