Story
If you ever wanted a dog who dances for attention, has the cutest floppy ears, and acts like every human is her favorite human, well congratulations! Your search is officially over because Katniss Everdeen is exactly that. She doesn’t just walk into a room, she makes an entrance. Little paw taps, happy wiggles, and a grin that says she absolutely knows how cute she is. Whether she’s dancing her way into your heart or flashing that perfect smile, Katniss Everdeen’s personality is pure joy wrapped in a tiny, fabulous package. Basically, if happiness had floppy ears and signature dance move, it would be Katniss Everdeen. Watch her video and fall in love with this dancing diva: https://youtu.be/5wgxwQLO5Uo?si=4sBUygiJVB1JvGar Katniss Everdeen is believed to be a Beagle mix approximately 5 years old and currently weighs 16 lbs. She is rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Katniss loves people, has the best personality, and thrives on attention, obviously. She’s the kind of pup who wants to be close. Snuggling, cuddling, and handing out sweet kisses like it’s her full-time career. If you’re looking for a dog who truly bonds with her person, Katniss is your girl. What really sets her apart? Her entertainment factor is elite. She loves to “dance” and uses her paws to politely (and adorably) tap you for attention. She knows exactly how to make everyone laugh, and she expects applause. Katniss does great with dogs, big and small! There is no such thing as “too big” for this girl to make doggy friends with. She is a confident little queen and will be friends with any dog, any size. Katniss loves to play with other dogs, romp around, and wrestle. She does take a moment to warm up with new dogs and isn’t the type that is going to instantly want to play, but give her some time and she’ll be playing in no time. Katiniss also isn’t play 24/7. She loves to explore and do her own thing as well. Katniss would do great with a doggy friend that is her happy medium. Playful when the time presents itself and relaxed when it’s time for a nap. Katniss has also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if she has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Katniss is playful, affectionate, funny, and full of love. She’s the kind of dog who makes every day brighter just by being herself and she’s ready to bring that sparkle home for good. We can see her thriving in a home with a backyard, and we also believe she would do beautifully in an apartment or condo. She doesn’t require much exercise, a simple walk around the neighborhood, playtime with her new fur siblings, or time with her human is all she needs. She’s also perfectly happy snuggling on the couch while you binge-watch your favorite show. It doesn’t take much to make her happy. She just wants to be loved, be with her people, and continue being the happy little dancing queen she is. If you’re searching for a small dog with a huge heart, endless charm, and main-character energy, Katniss Everdeen is ready to meet you! We are willing to test Katniss Everdeen with anything you need in order ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Lovey is the kind of puppy who reminds you what love is really about. Rescued just in time from a neglectful home where she wasn’t wanted, this beautiful Beagle mix girl arrived with sad eyes and a quiet plea for something better. Before we ever met her, we named her Lovey in honor of the Valentine season — and once she was safe, it became clear that her name couldn’t be more perfect. At just 9 weeks old and 7.5 pounds, Lovey is blossoming into the happiest, most affectionate little puppy. She adores people, loves to play, and fills her foster home with joy through all the classic puppy antics that make you laugh and fall in love daily. Her past is already fading as she embraces her new life with an open heart and a wagging tail. Lovey is bright, food-motivated, and eager to learn, which has made training a wonderful experience. She is crate trained, learning leash skills, and doing great with potty training both outdoors and on pee pads. She approaches every new lesson with enthusiasm, clearly wanting to please and connect with her people. Lovey is expected to grow into a 30–35 pound adult with a rich golden short coat and the sweetest, most expressive face. She will be a devoted companion whose heart belongs fully to her family — the kind of dog who wants to be close, loved, and included in everyday life. This Valentine season, Lovey is wishing for something simple and lasting: a family to love her forever. If you’re ready to open your heart to a puppy who will give hers back a thousand times over, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 8, 2026, 12:20 am

Story
Rollie was surrendered after his owner died. He had never lived inside until he came into rescue. He is now house and crate trained. He does love to run and play and hide his bones outside. He had very little socialization with other dogs and is a little dog selective (prefers females more than males). He's more of a loner than most. He has always been crated inside to avoid the mischief a beagle tends to get into with chewing items he isn't supposed to be chewing. It is more for his safety of not swallowing anything harmful. He will bark to let you know when he needs to go potty. He has been completely vetted. He deserves a home of his own to retire in and enjoy the rest of his life. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application.

Story
Meet Spence, a sweet soul who arrived at a local shelter as a stray with the hope that his forever family was still out there and he is ready to believe it is you. Spence is a 5-year-old Beagle mix with a social, affectionate, and playful personality that shines the moment you meet him. His short, beautiful tricolor coat and bright, inquisitive eyes make him undeniably handsome, but it is his loving nature that truly steals hearts. At just 18 pounds, Spence may be considered a small dog, but he is the perfect size for just about everything. He is big enough to enjoy outdoor adventures, neighborhood strolls, and playful moments in the yard, yet perfectly sized for curling up beside you at the end of the day. With a medium energy level, Spence fits right in whether your home is active and, on the go or more laidback and relaxed.Spence is friendly and outgoing, happily socializing with adults, children, and other dogs, although his history with cats is unknown. Like many dogs, he is still polishing his house and crate training skills, but he has already made great progress and walks nicely on a leash. With a little patience, guidance, and consistency, Spence will continue to blossom into the wonderful companion he is meant to be.After a fun-filled day, his favorite place to be is close to his people. Whether Spence is snuggled on the couch, stretched out on his dog bed, or simply resting nearby, his happiness comes from feeling safe and loved. Spence is ready to give his whole heart to a family who will show him what home truly mean and in return, he promises endless affection, joyful tail wags, and a lifetime of loyal companionship.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Spence is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. Story
Lottie is a dream boat in every sense, all wiggle booty, soft eyes, and a sweet little love-lean that immediately makes you feel like you would move mountains to make her happy. This girl literally arrived speaking “best friend,” and had a whole crew of people fawning over her every move. That is some powerful magic. Everything about her says gentle, affectionate, and an absolute joy to be around. Want to see Lottie’s wiggle-booty charm in motion? Head to YouTube https://youtu.be/JPvzwyzn_mY Lottie is estimated to be just over 3 years old, she weighs a cool 42 lbs, and is maybe a beagle/pug/american bully? Gosh if it isn’t the cutest mystery mix though. If you still somehow need convincing that she is “the one,” here you go. Let’s talk about all her other awesome qualities. On leash she’s a sweet sidekick who adjusts beautifully to guidance, and naturally sticks close to her person. It feels natural from the first step, like “Alright, we’re doing life together now.” With dogs Lottie is just as sweet. She greets new dogs with a friendly, welcoming energy and if you happen to be standing behind her for this you will get the cutest wiggle-wag-booty-action! Its somehow a helicopter tail and a full booty bounce at the same time. With the rest of the dogs she was quite submissive and polite, and she reads the room well. With slow, thoughtful introductions, she should do well with dog friends and seems like a middle-of-the-pack pup who will happily “get in where she fits in” without needing to run the show. In the kennel, Lottie is an absolute star. She is both house and crate trained and walks right in and settles with no fuss. Just the same, once we came inside, she settled beautifully and showed us that she has a naturally low-energy. Couch potato vibes for sure! She was ready to lay down and nap within 5 minutes and she gives off strong “apartment-friendly” vibes. Small-ish, quiet, great leash manners, and sweet as a button. Cats were a “maybe” in a way that feels promising. At first she wasn’t overly interested, respectfully curious and are happy to arrange a sleepover with our Kitty Committee to confirm what that curiosity turns into once she’s fully settled. And one more detail that pretty much melted our hearts on contact, the day she came to spend the afternoon with us she rode in the car on her best-buddies lap in the backseat, the whole way.. Her best buddie is a sweet little boy just under the age of 10. As if she wasn’t already a full dream, she shows us her tender nature with kids to really solidify that. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate, low-key little lovebug who walks nicely, settles easily, and will happily become your quiet companion with a wagging tail and a leaning heart… Lottie is ready and waiting but we know she will not be waiting long. If you are interested do not let her get away! Apply today! Story
Chowder is a 12 wk nugget, adorable little mixed breed puppy and we think he is so cute we can hardly stand it! He is well socialized, friendly, loves to play with his dog friends, LOVES people, and is just generally a very good time. Hobbies are napping, eating, finding mischief, and stealing kisses! Waiting for his forever home This puppy Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
