It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Angel. This sweet 1.5 year old 24 pound baby girl Beagle/Terrier mix is a true survivor. She has been through more than most Dogs ever should. She was found abandoned in a dumpster after giving birth to her puppies- scared, exhausted and left to fend for herself. Despite everything she’s still here and slowly learning that the world can be kind. Right now she’s understandably, fearful and cautious. New people, sudden movements, and unfamiliar environments can overwhelm her and she will try to run if she feels unsafe. She’ll need a patient, experienced home that understands shy dogs that may be a flight risk and will be committed to keeping her secure and giving her time to trust.But underneath that fear is a gentle, tender soul. You can see it in her soft eyes and the way she quietly observes everything around her. She wants to trust so badly. If you sit with her long enough and stroke her side softly, you can see her relax and begin to understand what Love feels like. With time, consistency, and a calm environment to support her needs she will get there. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources.
