Story
This adorable boy is Baxter. He is a one-year-old beagle mix and weighs 34 lb. Baxter is a very friendly and sweet dog who will become friends with everyone he meets, both dogs and people included. This boy is confident and acts right at home no matter where he is. He is food motivated and easily trainable, already knowing commands like "sit." Baxter would do great with children of all ages with consideration to some jumping behaviors. Baxter would love to have a dog friend to play with. We don't know what he thinks of cats, but can "cat test" him if needed. Baxter would be the perfect companion for someone looking for a smaller dog who is still active and playful enough to take on adventures. Baxter is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, healthy and ready for adoption now! His adoption fee is $395. If you would like to meet/adopt Baxter, please complete our online application at https://daws.org/daws-forms. Email daws@daws.org if you need assistance or have any questions.

Story
This pretty girl is Emma. She is one-year-old and weighs 29 lb. We think she may have some beagle in her. Emma is a quiet and slightly shy dog who just needs the opportunity to really come out of her shell. Despite her reservations, Emma is gentle and sweet with every person that she meets. Emma will make an amazing family dog and companion. Her quiet and gentle nature would be the perfect addition to any household. Emma would do great with children of all ages and seems to prefer dogs with similar energy to her. We don't know what Emma thinks of cats but we can "cat-test" her if needed. Story
I’d like to introduce you to Lucy, a 15 month old rescue pup that is currently living in New York with her Mom and Dad, her doggie sister and three human siblings. This has been a very heart-breaking decision, but they have done so much training and have been unconditionally loving her. She is no longer getting along with pretty much everyone except her Mom and Dad. She is also resource guarding them and food with her sister so they must be fed separately. As unfortunate as this situation is, they must rehome her because of the children and the other dog in the house. She will need a professional trainer or behaviorist that is experienced with dog aggression and resource guarding. A sanctuary is also another option if anyone can help. She’s going to take some work, but the right person I’m sure will fall in love with her. A quiet home without little children and any other animals is the environment she needs and I believe she will thrive. She loves car rides, sunbathing and playing with tennis balls in the yard. She does not like getting groomed and putting her harness on, though she walks well on a leash. She’s a little princess when it comes to rain and snow—not very fond of the bad weather. And she is scared and will bark at loud noises like trucks or motorcycles, but believe it or not not fireworks or thunder. Those two sounds don’t seem to phase her. She is also scared of loud people and loud toys. Please help us help this family and this adorable little pup that may be going through the terrible twos a little early. We wish she could talk and tell us how to help her but unfortunately something must have traumatized her when she was a very little puppy. Story
Looking for a forever home for our 15 month old beagle / lab mix Twix, asap. He is ~55 lbs medium build. We can provide his crate. Unfortunately, he sheds hair and our family has allergies issues. He got all his shots up to date and is house broken. Also, he does demonstrate at times resource guarding; he might need some training in this respect. He loves to play, super fun and lovable; I've lost 10 lbs "walking" him. He would be a great addition to a family; ideally with older kids that can keep up with him and have a fenced yard.
