WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Chelsea - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey all you fabulous people out there, let me introduce myself. I'm Chelsea and I'm here looking to adopt me a family, a home...one I can say will be all mine! And since you're reading this, I'm hoping that you'll consider making ME a part of yours!!!! I am a beautiful gal both on the inside and out with the sweetest face around! I’ve lived a lot of lives in my short time here on earth, including being a momma to lots of pups, but I’ve never had a real family of my own. Unfortunately a couple months ago I had an accident and hurt my leg and had to get it removed. However, it hasn’t stopped me one bit! I get around amazingly with 3 legs and am still super fast and playful! A few things I like to do is play with toys, sunbathe, follow my foster mom around, and watch tv! I’m also a huge cuddle bug and think naps are the best! Oh, and I absolutely love my belly rubbed! I am very obedient, calm, and gentle, and get along with all dogs, cats, and humans I meet! I know I would be a great fit into a family looking for a loving companion with a kind soul! I'm about a year old and coming in at just around 38lbs, I don't take up a whole lot of room on the couch, in the car or on the bed!! I'm that perfectly pawsome size for ALL adventures, from the mundane daily to your weekend exciting! I'm gonna have a blast doing them with you whether it's a leisurely neighborhood stroll, going on sniffaris on those nature trails, sleeping on the ground on camping trips, co-piloting errands runs or just chillin in the yard supervising yard work. I am a social gal that loves her people both tall and small and I do great with all the other pups here at my foster home and I even do good with the resident kitties. I am sooooo ready to unleash all this awesomeness and be that lil heartbeat at your feet. So, if you think I could be a pawsome fit for you and your lifestyle, please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application! It can be found at haydudeequine.org

Story
Meet SNOOPY, friend to all, stranger to none! Snoopy is a delightful 7ish year old beagle mix boy looking for a home. Snoopy loves everyone he meets. He's good with cats, other dogs and people of all ages. Snoopy is a low key guy who loves to be loved on. Snoopy loves life's simple pleasures. His favorite toy is a tennis ball. Like his namesake, Snoopy is very food motivated. Snoopy is a sturdy long and low guy, we suspect there is a little basset hound in his family tree. He's currently 30 pounds but could probably stand to loose a pound or two. Snoopy came to us from a rural county shelter. This delightful gem of a dog was dumped in a field by his family when they moved out fo town. Who does that??? Snoopy needs a home with a physically fenced yard to keep him from following his beagle nose into trouble. He's housebroken and crate trained. If you'd like to meet this sweet happy boy, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Snoopy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Story
Introducing Gambit - the name's not just a coincidence; it's a testament to my ability to shape my destiny. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a dash of X-Men flair and you're ready to give me the chance I deserve, let's make it happen. I can't wait to meet you and start this exciting new chapter together! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Story
&#226&#154&#171&#239&#184&#143 Please welcome Dot back to SAAP!     Dot (knows Copper) is a 6.5 year old beagle/chi mix. He was originally adopted out as a tiny puppy, but over time his family dynamics have changed.  Dot has not enjoyed being the fur brother to human babies - they make him extremely anxious - and so it's time to find him a home with older children (teens?) adults, and probably less energy.     We do know that Dot is around 20 lbs, good with other dogs that are calmer and submissive, not sure on cats.  He has not been crate trained and is house broken.     If you are interested in giving Dot a new home that fits you both, please apply for him at adoptastray.com!April 12, 2025, 8:33 pm

Story
Meet the cutest gal on the block with the best smile, Lucinda! Lu is a 4.5 year old hound, boxer mix who loves her people, including kids, and is full of exuberance. She is also only a medium girl at 45 lbs— the perfect size in our eyes! She came into rescue at 6 months old & was adopted, but was returned 3 years later because the adopter was having a baby. Sweet Lucinda did nothing wrong, & she’s looking for a forever, loving family this time around!  Lucinda loves playing with energetic dog friends after slow meets & is working on manners (she can get a tad bit excited for some hehe)! She would love an active home where she can go on adventures with her people— a favorite of hers is hiking! A family that gives her lots of belly rubs? She says, “yes please!” This wiggly girl is healthy & ready to find her forever home! She is house trained, crate trained, & knows basic commands! She is so smart & is ready to continue learning in a forever home to show a family just how amazing she is!April 23, 2025, 12:21 pm

Story
Please welcome Chicago Pizza back to SAAP. She is a tall, lanky 6 month old hound mix. She came from a litter of nine that was dumped on someone’s property and was the last to be adopted. She is a high energy pup and would greatly benefit from basic training for things like sit, stay, leash walking and not jumping on people. For this reason, she may be too much for young/small kids. Hounds can get very distracted by their strong sense of smell but with some hard work and a patient family, I know she can learn to be the best version of herself. She has done well with all the dogs in the foster home (male and female - ranging from 14 pounds to 80 pounds). We have not had any issues meeting people except that she is a bit shy and timid at first. She has been absolutely loving with us and LOVES to cuddle and be held! Let’s find this girl’s true furever home and give her the happiness she deserves! June 6, 2025, 9:04 pm
