Story
Danica is an 8-year-old, 30 lb beagle mix with big brown eyes who just loves kisses, scratches and cuddles and being close to her people. Her superpowers include being a fast and eager learner, loving all people everywhere, and getting along great with other dogs and her cat sister. She loves to just explore the outdoors and sniff around still. She’s good on a leash. In terms of house training, she’s does well during the day but sometimes can’t make it through the night. With more regularly scheduled potty breaks, we think this can be fixed! She loves to love on you and her people and to be rewarded for a good job! Some of her favorite things are her Kongs (stuffed with peanut butter, of course). If you're looking for a loving companion who will greet you and other of your four legged companions with full body kisses every time you walk in the door and loves spooning and snuggling at night and at naptime, she might be your perfect match. Danica is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
DEACON is an adorable tiny beagle boy, about 4 years old and fully grown at just 19 pounds. We're kind of obsessed with his magnificent velvety ears. He appears to be mostly beagle, but if you told us there was a little dachshund in his family tree we wouldn't argue with you. Deacon loves yummy treats. If you've got a bag of treats he will go into full dance party mode. Deacon is a friendly playful medium energy guy who walks well on a leash and is fine with other dogs. Standard beagle rules apply, Deacon needs a physically-fenced yard to keep him from following his beagle nose into trouble. If you'd like to meet Deacon, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Deacon at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Story
Meet KEATS, a happy-go-lucky Beagle mix boy looking for a home. Keats is a lover boy who thrives on attention from his people, cuddles charge his batteries.  He's good with other dogs and fine with cats, he's happy to play with other dogs or entertain himself with a chewy bone. He loves his food and treats and his crate is one of his favorite nap spots. Keats is about 4 years old and fully grown at just 23 pounds. He looks like a jeagle-type mix (beagle/Jack Russell Terrier) but his personality is more beagley. Keats is a quiet boy who should be fine in an apartment or condo. He walks well on a leash and is a perfect passenger in the car.  Keats recently completed heartworm treatment, he has a clean bill of health and is ready for love. If you'd like to meet Keats, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. Story
ACE is a lively beagle mix boy looking for a loving home. We aren't sure what the "mix" part is but his coat is stunning. Ace had his world turned upside down when his person suffered a traumatic injury and Ace was left without a home. Thankfully the staff at a veterinary office took him in and boarded him for 3 months until rescue could be secured. It's been a rough road for Ace. Now he needs a home with a patient adopter who will take the time to earn his trust and love. Ace loves doing high-speed zoomies in the yard and loves treats. He's 6 years old fully grown at 33 lbs. He needs a home with a physically fenced yard to keep him from following his nose into trouble. If you'd like to meet Ace, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Ace at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX)

Story
Meet the cutest gal on the block with the best smile, Lucinda! Lu is a 4.5 year old hound, boxer mix who loves her people, including kids, and is full of exuberance. She is also only a medium girl at 45 lbs— the perfect size in our eyes! She came into rescue at 6 months old & was adopted, but was returned 3 years later because the adopter was having a baby. Sweet Lucinda did nothing wrong, & she’s looking for a forever, loving family this time around!  Lucinda loves playing with energetic dog friends after slow meets & is working on manners (she can get a tad bit excited for some hehe)! She would love an active home where she can go on adventures with her people— a favorite of hers is hiking! A family that gives her lots of belly rubs? She says, “yes please!” This wiggly girl is healthy & ready to find her forever home! She is house trained, crate trained, & knows basic commands! She is so smart & is ready to continue learning in a forever home to show a family just how amazing she is!March 7, 2026, 3:29 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Gretel, a soulful Basset mix born on February 20, 2020. At six years old, she has perfected the art of being a relaxed, well-mannered house companion. Gretel is a professional lounger who is fully potty trained and knows exactly how to behave indoors. While she was adopted as a puppy, she recently returned to us after a misunderstanding with a small child. Because of this, Gretel is looking for an adult-only home where she can be the center of your world. She’s a "people person" who prefers to be your one-and-only pet—no other dogs needed when she has you! If you’re looking for a loyal, low-maintenance best friend to keep your sofa warm, Gretel is your girl. Story
**Trying to get her an appointment at UCAN to be spayed before adoption; will update post if I'm able to! This sweet girl's name is Ruby! We took her in after someone posted her on facebook saying she needed rehomed that night due to them needing to be hospitalized for surgery the next day. She is approx 7 months old and weighs around 35-40 lbs. We think she is a basset hound bully mix of some sort. She is very long and has very short little legs. She has a very goofy, quirky personality and it's impossible not to fall in love with her. She is very submissive and loves all other animals and children. She's a little standoffish meeting new people, but comes around after a few min. She needs a fenced in yard (she has no road safety skills lol). She would also do best in a home with little to no stairs due to her short legs. A perfect home is a must! She is literally the sweetest girl. We were hoping she would work in our home, but we don't have a fence and it is just not safe here.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Denali! At approximately 9 months old, Denali is already showing off his fun-loving personality and charming quirks. We believe he’s a mix of Basset Hound and a larger working breed such as an Anatolian Shepherd, Black Mouth Cur, or similar breed. The result is a handsome low-rider with a big personality, a bigger heart, and an expected adult weight of around 45-50 pounds. Denali loves to play fetch, chase squeaky toys, run around the yard, and be involved in whatever his people are doing. More than anything, he loves his humans and wants to be close to them. If he had his way, he’d spend his days following you from room to room and his evenings curled up beside you on the couch. Denali gets along with dogs and children, but because of his past, he can occasionally be fear-reactive and may stand his ground if challenged by another dog. The good news is that he responds well to correction, is eager to please, and has already made tremendous progress in a very short period of time. We fully expect his confidence to continue growing as he settles into a stable, loving home. While Denali enjoys canine companionship, he would do best with mellow, respectful dog friends. Any resident dogs should be easygoing, and his adopter should be comfortable managing introductions and continuing his positive training. He is not a difficult dog, just a dog who needs a thoughtful leader to help him succeed. Denali's ideal home would be with someone who appreciates a devoted best friend and can provide a calm, structured environment. In return, he’ll offer endless loyalty, affection, and entertainment. He would be especially well-suited for someone familiar with larger working breeds such as Anatolian Shepherds, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Black Mouth Curs, or similar breeds. Experience isn’t required because Denali is “problematic”, it’s simply because understanding how these intelligent, loyal dogs think will help him reach his full potential. Denali has come incredibly far in a short amount of time and continues to show us what a wonderful companion he can be. With patience, consistency, and love, he’s going to make someone an amazing best friend for years to come. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, adventure buddy, and oversized lap dog, Denali may just be your perfect match! Denali is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $275.00.
