Meet Starla! This sweet Beagle Mix lady is 4 years old and weighs about 25lbs. Starla came to rescue after ending up in the shelter incredibly pregnant. Despite our vet's best efforts, Starla lost all of her puppies, leaving her sad and confused. Fast forward a few months later, this sweet girl is coming into her own and realizing how wonderful having a family in a home can be! Starla is very sweet, rolling on her back for belly rubs whenever she gets the chance. She loves to go for walks and to explore the yard. She is fostered with other dogs and with cats and has done well meeting everyone, although a little nervous at first. Starla is fostered with two human foster brothers, ages 11 and 6 and gets frequent visits from the neighborhood kids, who love to take her for walks! Starla is great on a leash - sometimes needing a little extra persuasion to keep walking if she hears a scary noise! Starla is working very hard on her potty training skills and has improved so much since entering her foster home. Her foster family is confident that she will continue to improve in a new home with a consistent routine. Starla may have had a rough start, but she has overcome several obstacles to get to where she is today! She would love to keep improving with a family of her own! Mike and Sulley are about 6 months old, Mike is currently 12 pounds, Sulley is 14 pounds. We expect them to remain on the small side, maybe 20-25 pounds when fully grown. Alduin (knows the name Dash) is back with SAAP and is looking for his forever home! Dash is a 30lb, 7.5 year old hound (possible heeler?) mix looking, looking for a forever home to live out his golden years. Dash is good with cats and with other dogs, particularly dogs his size or larger. He would do best in a home with at least one other dog to keep him company and give him confidence! He does best with slow intros to other dogs, but bonds right away to people and is the best cuddler! Dash loves blankets and is always up for a game of fetch. He loves walks, but also gets excited on the leash, so he’d love an adopter willing to work with him on some leash skills (he already knows everything else, including sit, down, stay, shake and roll over). He a loves to be close to his person, and has been known to be protective and to have some separation anxiety. Dash takes a daily medication to help with his anxiety and he is a champ at it! He loves bread and peanut butter with his dinner in the morning and night. Dash can be left out and uncrated in the home with other dogs, but when visitors enter the home, it is best that he is separated initially until he becomes comfortable and warms up to people (It usually only takes a couple of snacks). Dash would love a patient adopter with other doggies to keep him company. He can be a bit fearful, so he needs someone he can trust to give all of his love to! He has so much to give.
