Story
Ms. Mam is a gentle soul wrapped in a charming, beagle-like package and powered mostly by kindness and snacks. She’s a mature lady with an easygoing outlook on life. No rush, no fuss, just quiet companionship and cozy naps. Her hearing isn’t what it used to be, which only adds to her peaceful charm. She’s perfectly content soaking up love, lounging in a sunny spot, and enjoying the calm side of life. Ms. Mam has diabetes mellitus and will require lifelong treatment, including insulin injections twice daily and a special diet. She would also likely do best in a home without cats. All this precious girl really asks for is a little love, a warm place to rest, and a home where she can enjoy her golden years in comfort and care. Golden Years Companion: Because senior pets deserve all the love in the world, this animal’s adoption fee is completely WAIVED! We never want an adoption fee to stand in the way of a senior dog enjoying their golden years surrounded by care and comfort. Story
Meet Bagel the Beagle! This girl is six years old and is quite the chunk, weighing in around 40 lbs. She is ready to work on her summer body by going for walks around the neighborhood and exploring her new home! Bagel is a sweet and friendly girl, happy to waddle up to any and all humans to receive some love. She is fostered with other small dogs and does well with them, playing on occasion but mostly just hanging out. She is true to her breed and absolutely loves to explore using her nose. Once she has sniffed everything she possibly can, she loves to chew on a bone or flop over on her side to take a nap. Bagel does not prefer to be in a crate but does well left out when her foster mom is not home. She doesn't get into anything and either snoozes on the couch or watches out the window. For a beagle, Bagel is shockingly quiet, so far only barking on occasion! She is working on potty training, going regularly outside but also utilizing puppy pads indoors. She absolutely loves people and wants to be by your side at all times! She will make sure to find her way to you if you happen to be in another room. She does well on a leash and would love to go on short walks to help her shed some extra pounds. Bagel is a wonderful dog that cannot wait to find a home to settle into. If you are looking for your new best friend, apply for Bagel today! Bagel is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Adorable puppy HOSS had his cherry eye repaired and is looking even more handsome! Hoss is a 7-8 month old cuddle bug. He's an easygoing guy who loves people, squeaky toys and treats. He loves human attention and has already learned to sit for treats. We're calling Hoss a Shargle -- he appears to be a Shar Pei/Beagle mix. He has the big wrinkly head and sturdy legs of a Shar Pei and the body of a black and tan beagle. At the vet's office he sat calmly while being poked and prodded. He'd fine with anything especially if yummy treats are involved. He's a bright boy who learns quickly and should be fun to train. Hoss is currently 24 pounds and is probably close to fully grown, we're estimating he'll be 30ish pounds when fully grown. He's dog friendly but we think he'd be fine as an only dog as long as he gets plenty of attention. Hoss came to us with his brother Brew who looks more like a beagle, Hoss definitely has a shar pei face. If you'd like to meet Hoss, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Hoss at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention. Story
BREW is an adorable 7-8 month old mixed-breed pup looking for a home. He is sweet, playful and crazy for food. Our best guess on breed is -- wait for it -- beagle/Shar Pei. That's a new one on us! He has the biggish slightly wrinkly head of a Shar Pei and the physical size, coloring and body type of a lemon beagle. Brew came to us from a rural shelter with his brother Hoss. Hoss looks more like a Shar Pei, Brew looks more like a beagle. Brew is currently 21 pounds, our best guess is he will be 25-30 pounds when fully grown. He is remarkably chill for a puppy his age. Brew doesn't have a high play motor but he loves his squeaky toys. When playtime is over, Brew is happy to cuddle and nap. Brew is a bit on the shy side and does enjoy the companionship of other dogs. He would benefit from having another fur sibling. If you'd like to meet Brew, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Brew at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30-1:30 at PetSmart Eastgate. Story
ADOPTION FEE $50! LOGAN is very good boy in need of a home. He is a sweet gentle guy who craves love and attention. He's a mixed breed boy, probably some type of beagle mix, about 4 years old and currently overweight at 45 pounds, he should be 35 pounds. He's a sweet guy who loves attention, housebroken and crate trained. Logan was recently returned to SDHR after 2 years in a home with a beagle brother. His family brought home a third dog and it was just too much for Logan to handle so he had to leave. Not every dog is cut out for pack life. We were sad to see Logan lose his home but were glad to take him back because we remember him fondly as a sweet good boy who loves with his whole heart. We want to set Logan up for success so his ideal home is one where he will be an only dog. When he was with us two years ago he was fine with cats. Logan is still heartbroken over losing his home, but we know he'll be a happy boy again when he finds someone to love. If you'd like to meet Logan, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Logan at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Story
Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption only $200, in TX

ater tot is the cutest 27 pound nugget! He is a mix of many different breeds! He is 4 years young. He is said to be great with kids, good with other dogs, cats unsure. He does get a bit anxious but who doesn’t these days. So having him in a crate when left alone is best. Story
Hello! I'm Naomi but foster mom calls me Nana. She says I looked about 87 when I first came to foster care   A little about me: I'm great with the resident dogs, I'm not very interested in the cat, I keep my crate clean, I'm working on potty training (and I'm doing quite good, if I do say so myself). I am six years old and weigh about 25 lbs. I love my toys and I'm working hard to learn what foster mom does not consider a toy, like her shoe. I'm an all around great dog on the hunt for her forever home.  April 26, 2026, 9:57 pm

Meet the cutest gal on the block with the best smile, Lucinda! Lu is a 4.5 year old hound, boxer mix who loves her people, including kids, and is full of exuberance. She is also only a medium girl at 45 lbs— the perfect size in our eyes! She came into rescue at 6 months old & was adopted, but was returned 3 years later because the adopter was having a baby. Sweet Lucinda did nothing wrong, & she’s looking for a forever, loving family this time around!  Lucinda loves playing with energetic dog friends after slow meets & is working on manners (she can get a tad bit excited for some hehe)! She would love an active home where she can go on adventures with her people— a favorite of hers is hiking! A family that gives her lots of belly rubs? She says, “yes please!” This wiggly girl is healthy & ready to find her forever home! She is house trained, crate trained, & knows basic commands! She is so smart & is ready to continue learning in a forever home to show a family just how amazing she is!March 7, 2026, 3:29 pm

Story
Smokey is a loving companion that likes to be a lap dog often. He loves being outside but space is limited to the apartment complex doggy park. As I work full time he is in a crate 2/3 of the day which isn’t fair to him. He is house trained and crate trained. He may experience separation anxiety when adjusting to a new environment. He does go through bouts when he’s not hungry. That’s normal for him. He has a lot of love to give!!
