Story
Tombstone may sound like a tough guy name, but this petite little booger is more “cute as a button” than cowboy outlaw. He’s got those houndish good looks that practically demand a camera roll full of selfies, and he's a hilarious mix of chaotic energy and sweet cuddliness. He is potty-trained and loves toys, treats, car rides, and being loved on by his humans. Tombstone is adorably mischievous and curious. He is happiest when he's playing with his human and dog friends or frolicking in a big backyard where he can sniff to his heart's content. He is a playful, sweet little sidekick who’s equal parts cozy and silly. Basically, he’s proof that good things come in compact, wiggly packages. Story
Meet Bagel the Beagle! This girl is six years old and is quite the chunk, weighing in around 40 lbs. She is ready to work on her summer body by going for walks around the neighborhood and exploring her new home! Bagel is a sweet and friendly girl, happy to waddle up to any and all humans to receive some love. She is fostered with other small dogs and does well with them, playing on occasion but mostly just hanging out. She is true to her breed and absolutely loves to explore using her nose. Once she has sniffed everything she possibly can, she loves to chew on a bone or flop over on her side to take a nap. Bagel does not prefer to be in a crate but does well left out when her foster mom is not home. She doesn't get into anything and either snoozes on the couch or watches out the window. For a beagle, Bagel is shockingly quiet, so far only barking on occasion! She is working on potty training, going regularly outside but also utilizing puppy pads indoors. She absolutely loves people and wants to be by your side at all times! She will make sure to find her way to you if you happen to be in another room. She does well on a leash and would love to go on short walks to help her shed some extra pounds. Bagel is a wonderful dog that cannot wait to find a home to settle into. If you are looking for your new best friend, apply for Bagel today! Bagel is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. Story
Danica is an almost 8-year-old, 30 lb beagle mix with big brown eyes who just loves kisses, scratches and cuddles and being close to her people. Her superpowers include being a fast and eager learner, loving all people everywhere, and getting along great with other dogs and her sister cat. She loves to just explore the outdoors and sniff around still. She’s good on a leash. In terms of house training, she’s does good but sometimes can’t make it through the night. With more regularly scheduled potty breaks I think this can be fixed. She loves to love on you and her people and to be rewarded for a good job! Some of her favorite things are her kongs (stuffed with peanut butter). If you're looking for a loving companion who will greet you and other of your four legged companions with full body kisses every time you walk in the door and loves spooning and snuggling at night and at naptime, she might be your perfect match. Danica is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption only $200, in TX

Story
Meet Maisie! She is a roughly 5 month old female mix breed. We do think she will be a medium sized dog, most likely around 40-50lbs full grown. What she is a mix of? That is a bit of a mystery! A couple of her siblings were wire haired and reminded us of Jack Russells, so maybe some Jack Russell? A bit of beagle? It is honestly anyone’s guess! What is not a guess is just how loving and fun this girl is! She is quite energetic with a soft, more submissive side. She is highly toy driven and loves to carry a toy around her in mouth; she is also starting to show interest in playing fetch! When not playing, she can be found either begging you for a belly rub, or attacking you with kisses, there’s really no in-between with this girl, she loves to get love, and also return it. She has a wiggle butt to match her energy and it rarely stops moving whenever a human is close enough to activate that wiggle! She is truly a happy-go-lucky girl, just here to have fun and live the good life! She is fantastic with kids, dogs, and cats! She is crate and house trained, and working on her basic commands. All she needs now is a family to call her own! She is spayed, up to date on up to date on age appropriate vaccines, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $350June 8, 2026, 8:24 pm

Meet the cutest gal on the block with the best smile, Lucinda! Lu is a 4.5 year old hound, boxer mix who loves her people, including kids, and is full of exuberance. She is also only a medium girl at 45 lbs— the perfect size in our eyes! She came into rescue at 6 months old & was adopted, but was returned 3 years later because the adopter was having a baby. Sweet Lucinda did nothing wrong, & she’s looking for a forever, loving family this time around!  Lucinda loves playing with energetic dog friends after slow meets & is working on manners (she can get a tad bit excited for some hehe)! She would love an active home where she can go on adventures with her people— a favorite of hers is hiking! A family that gives her lots of belly rubs? She says, “yes please!” This wiggly girl is healthy & ready to find her forever home! She is house trained, crate trained, & knows basic commands! She is so smart & is ready to continue learning in a forever home to show a family just how amazing she is!March 7, 2026, 3:29 pm

Story
Meet Cobra, one half of an adorable littermate duo (see also Kai) that's ready to kick its way into your heart! Cobra is a neutered male puppy who is up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and ready for his forever family. Currently about 5 pounds, Cobra is expected to stay in the small-to-medium size range, likely around 15–25 pounds when fully grown. While he's still very much a playful puppy, Cobra tends to be the calmer, more laid-back sibling. He enjoys exploring and playing, but he's just as happy settling into your lap for cuddles and watching the world go by. Sweet, affectionate, and easygoing, Cobra has a gentle nature that makes him a wonderful companion. If you're looking for a puppy who balances playful energy with plenty of snuggle time, Cobra may be your perfect match.June 10, 2026, 8:35 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Denali (aka Roger, Roger Dodger, Roger Ramjet)! If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, adventure buddy, and oversized lap dog, Denali may just be your perfect match. At approximately 7 months old, Denali is already showing off his fun-loving personality and charming quirks. We believe he’s a mix of Basset Hound and a larger working breed such as an Anatolian Shepherd, Black Mouth Cur, or similar breed. The result is a handsome low-rider with a big personality, a bigger heart, and an expected adult weight of around 45-50 pounds. Denali loves to play fetch, chase squeaky toys, run around the yard, and be involved in whatever his people are doing. More than anything, he loves his humans and wants to be close to them. If he had his way, he’d spend his days following you from room to room and his evenings curled up beside you on the couch. Denali gets along with dogs and children, but because of his past, he can occasionally be fear-reactive and may stand his ground if challenged by another dog. The good news is that he responds well to correction, is eager to please, and has already made tremendous progress in a very short period of time. We fully expect his confidence to continue growing as he settles into a stable, loving home. While Denali enjoys canine companionship, he would do best with mellow, respectful dog friends. Any resident dogs should be easygoing, and his adopter should be comfortable managing introductions and continuing his positive training. He is not a difficult dog, just a dog who needs a thoughtful leader to help him succeed. Denali's ideal home would be with someone who appreciates a devoted best friend and can provide a calm, structured environment. In return, he’ll offer endless loyalty, affection, and entertainment. He would be especially well-suited for someone familiar with larger working breeds such as Anatolian Shepherds, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Black Mouth Curs, or similar breeds. Experience isn’t required because Denali is “problematic”, it’s simply because understanding how these intelligent, loyal dogs think will help him reach his full potential. Denali has come incredibly far in a short amount of time and continues to show us what a wonderful companion he can be. With patience, consistency, and love, he’s going to make someone an amazing best friend for years to come. Denali is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $275.00.
