Story
These are two brothers from same litter. Former owner was unable to keep due to health issues and needing to move to a home that does not allow dogs. From what I know, they are 9 month old pure breds (no papers). I have 3 dogs of my own and unable to take on more dogs, let alone 2 puppies. They are sweet puppies and need a home who will love on them. They are a little timid at first meeting, but warm up very quickly and you experience all the joys a puppies love gives. Looking for a good home in Central KY or Southern Indiana for both of them together preferably since they are brothers from the same litter and I have a need to place them both as I'm unable to keep any more in my house.

Story
June Bug is a sweet, playful pup who’s just beginning to come into her own. At just under a year old and around 40 pounds, she’s still learning about the world—and sometimes that means she can be a little shy with new people. But give her a bit of time and patience, and you’ll see her blossom into the fun-loving, affectionate companion she truly is. Once she feels comfortable, June Bug’s personality shines. She loves to play—fetch is a favorite—and she’s always up for some toy time. She just needs a little extra time to settle in and show you her goofy, lovable side. If you’re willing to go slow at first, you’ll be rewarded with a loyal, joyful best friend. We also found out at the office that June Bug loves water! So if you have a pool or like going to the lake, she would love to join you.

Story
SPECIAL NEEDSMeet Stewart! UPDATE: June 2, 2021- In December of 2020, Stewart suffered a ruptured disc and has spinal surgery. It left him unable to walk, but now that he is healed, he is doing therapy and regaining strength and starting to walk. Right now, Stewart is special needs and has wheels to help him. He will need a special home that can handle special needs and continue therapy so he can fully walk again.  Stewart is an 8 year old Beagle. Stewart came to us emaciated, but he is now healthy and ready to be adopted! Stewart needs a home that will be patient and work with him on house training and socializing. Stewart is good with dogs his size and prefers female companions over males. He also needs a fenced yard where he cannot escape, and his “beagle nose” get him into trouble. He would not do well in a subdivision, apartment, or townhome. He is very vocal so a place with a little more land would be more suitable. If you would like to make Stewart a part of the family, fill out an application at www.barktownrescue.org  STEWART'S ADOPTION FEE IS $170The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Portions of your adoption fee also help care for the sick and injured animals that we take in.  Thank you for supporting us and considering a rescue dog!    November 4, 2024, 9:21 am
