Hey guys! I am a perfect older gentleman that loves to cuddle and chill out with you. I am currently living in a foster home with another dog and a cat- we are all friends. I have limited vision and hearing but that doesn't get me down.  I am so grateful to be rescued and cared for! If you are interested in meeting me- please fill out an application and my foster mom will be in touch.  We do not have a facility for you to visit.  WE PROCESS APPLICANTS AND SET APPOINTMENTS BASED ON THE ORDER APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED , so while you are welcome to email  ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, you will want to complete the  ONLINE APPLICATION ASAP ,  which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find  a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10 day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fee is $220 for adults, $295 for puppies (under 6 months), and $150 for seniors (8 yrs and up) which covers the cost of the spay/neuter, age appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. The majority of dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers, so there is often very little known about their history or even current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC provides a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, as well as telephone support.   September 29, 2023, 7:54 am

Check out your future BFF, Tank! He's a happy senior that is looking for a great new family and home to relax in. Tanks loves his humans and is currently fostered with another dog. He would love to meet any fur babies before heading to his forever home. Tank has been amazing with going potty outside and will keep his crate clean. He'd prefer to spend time snuggling with you instead of his crate! If you're looking for a sweet older pup, fill out an application to meet him! Story
**In a foster home, not at the kennel** Hi everyone, My name is Velma but my foster dad also calls me Biscuit. Don’t ask me why. I don’t even think he knows why. I am a 2.5 year old 46 lb Beagle mix. My foster dad describes me as kinda boring and lazy. I should take offense to that but I guess it’s kinda true. I am not much for playing with toys or chasing a ball around the yard. I also like to sleep in and take my time preparing for my full day of chill-axing. What’s the rush? It’s not like I won’t do anything. I love to do stuff with my foster dad such as cuddling, walking, going on car rides, and training so I can get rewarded with treats! The concept of personal space doesn’t exist in my world! I love being with you as much as I possibly can. I am totally fine with being crated if you need to go somewhere. I love and adore you so much that I’m kinda selfish with your love. I’d prefer to be the solo dog in your world. At my foster home it’s just my foster dad and I that live there. He has taken me to several family parties in which I have met lots of people and kids (4+). I have done well with our interactions. I am super friendly so I loved taking in all the extra attention from everyone. If you are interested in adopting me and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at k9stray.com and K9 will be in touch. They look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
Stanley is a smart and confident beagle boy who originated as a stray at a rural animal shelter before he came to Midwest BREW. He is estimated to be 4-6 years old, and after spending several months undergoing treatment and recovery for heartworm disease, he is ready for a permanent family! Stanley is very scent driven (even for a beagle!) and requires a securely fenced yard to keep him from escaping on hunting adventures. Even inside of a fence, Stanley will take advantage of any small opening or soft spot where he can dig out, so he would be safest with supervision outdoors in the yard, and even better would be a privacy fence well buried below the ground. Indoors, Stanley is a sweet companion who likes to play with rope toys and spend time on the couch with his people. Stanley is very well crate trained but can also be loose in the house because he is very good about not getting into things that don’t belong to him. He does well with the other dogs in his foster home, but he is greatly interested in the smell of the cats and tends to pester them when he knows they are nearby, so a home without cats is recommended. Stanley is extremely smart and clever, and he loves to be entertained with food puzzle toys and chew bones. He catches on to new things very quickly and would do well in a positive reinforcement based training class If you are interested in adding handsome Stanley to your family, please contact Midwest BREW and we will answer any questions you may have. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Missy came to Midwest BREW with a lot of extra weight which caused trouble breathing, or doing much of anything for that matter. After lots of figuring out meds, TLC with lots of time to adjust, losing weight and recovering, she is such a happy girl now. No more meds except thyroid every day, prescription food, (which she loves) and treats are carrots and apples (which she also loves!). Missy will be a perfect companion. She is always close by, never on your lap or in the bed, but by your feet or at the foot of the bed. She is very housebroken, you can't miss the signs when she needs to go out and she is good on a leash, or in a crate (not necessary, as she can be left alone in the house with no problem). She has been an "only child" for now, but she likes other dogs, but doesn't like the neighborhood feral cat. A mellow, calm home would be ideal for Missy...she makes a great friend and companion! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
