Story
WAYLON 1 year Attributes: Dog friendly Shy Crate trained Low energy House trained Requires a fence Meet Waylon Waylon is a 1½-year-old, 22-pound beagle boy with the softest heart and the sweetest soul. He was found loose in Indiana and spent several months in a shelter. He is fearful and shy when meeting new people. He will bond very strongly to a female and would thrive with someone who wants a loyal little shadow. Waylon is crate trained and also potty trained using a dog door. He gets along well with our 3 beagles and is a true couch potato at heart. He enjoys quietly playing with his toys and chewing on his Nyla bones before curling up beside "his person." Waylon would do best in a quiet, female-only household with a secure 6-foot wooded fenced yard. Another calm dog could help him continue building confidence. He needs someone patient and gentle who wants to continue his training and socialization building. If you have a peaceful home, a kind heart, and room on your couch, Waylon may be your perfect match. 💙 NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
SONNY 2 years Attributes Single dog home Playful Housetrained Potties on leash Crate trained Requires a fence Sonny is a very sweet and handsome young beagle that was found as a stray in Ohio. He is approximately 2 1/2 years old, 27 lbs., and appears to be a smaller sized beagle. He is very athletic and loves to run and play. He has a big personality and is very smart. Sonny would do best in a beagle experienced home as he is your typical beagle (adorable with a side of mischievous!). He sits nicely for treats, potties on leash, and sleeps quietly in a crate at night. He will also stay in a crate during the day as long as he has something to keep his mind occupied but really prefers being with his people on the couch. He is very curious and loves to explore. During quiet times, he loves to entertain himself with chew toys. A fenced in yard is a plus as he was a stray and was out exploring the world without boundaries. Sonny will do best in a home where he can be the only pet and where his humans are mostly home. He could also benefit from training classes to build confidence and develop the skills he needs to become a well-adjusted and successful companion in his new home. He is searching for a special home that will love him and introduce him to a wonderful new life. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Hello! My name is Milo, an adorable puppy looking for a forever home! Few can resist a puppy. These cute, soft bundles of energy are, in many ways, like four-legged toddlers with tails. And, like children, puppies need a lot of time, care, love and understanding. They will depend on you for frequent and regular feedings and walks, for guidance and training, for a lot of your time and your love. If you are willing to devote the time needed for a puppy, you will gain an amazing companion!I am currently under the care of the shelter medical team at HSHV. If you would like to learn more about me, please reach out to the Adoption Desk at (734) 662-5585.

Story
Meet Walter   Walter is an adorable adult beagle mix with the kind of puppy dog eyes that will melt your heart in seconds. One look at that sweet face, and you’ll understand why everyone who meets him falls in love.   Walter has a gentle, loving personality and is simply looking for the best home ever—a place where he can relax, feel safe, and be part of the family. He’s the kind of dog who will happily be your loyal companion, whether you’re going for a walk, watching TV, or just enjoying a quiet moment together.   He’s past the puppy stage but still has plenty of love and life to give. Walter would do great with someone who appreciates a laid-back, affectionate dog who just wants to be by your side.   If you’ve been searching for a sweet, soulful companion with irresistible eyes and an even bigger heart, Walter might just be your perfect match  We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support. March 22, 2026, 8:57 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hello! I’m Tanbo (now named Snoop). I was adopted from Last Day Dog Rescue as a pup and now see myself back here due to family issues. I’m a very inquisitive pup and like to find my way into many things, but I’m learning that I’m not allowed to do so.  Anything to do with treats and I’ll be right there with you, but if you have your own food, I may sniff it. I really like to play with toys. As long as the toys are not stuffed, we won’t have a mess. I shred them within minutes, so harder chews would be best. I like to go for walks, I’m leash trained with slight pulling but I’m learning how not to do that. While we are out on our walks, I like to sniff everything I can because it’s all so interesting to me. After our long walks I like to curl up on the couch next to my humans and sleep. I enjoy being under the covers with them as well! When meeting new people, I do bark. Once I get to know them, I’m fine. I do get along with other dogs, I just bark a lot. However, I also resource guard my toys, so being an only dog may be best for me. I do chase cats, so I might not be the best with them. My current humans think I may have some separation anxiety, so for now I will have to be in a crate until I calm down and learn they will come back. I was just recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease so I will be medicated for the rest of my life, but that doesn’t make me any different to love.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. March 7, 2026, 8:41 am

Story
Maisey and Blue are great dogs. I have had them for several months but they are really seeking a home with a yard they can run in. They are fun loving and crate trained. Good on a leash. They love their crates and pillows to lay on. They enjoy their toys and playing with each other. They like your attention as well. Blue is a cuddle bug where Maizey likes just enough love and her curious self is off to other things and can entertain herself. I have come to adore them but they need a yard and I cant provide that. Would love to find them a home together if possible.
