Story
I heard that spring is on its way, and I think you might need a special beagle flower in your garden! Hi everyone, I’m Daisy (Daisey)! I am a super sweet, affectionate, and playful 4-year-old girl. My foster mom thinks I have some Labrador or something else in me, because my ears aren’t quite big enough to pick up satellite signals. But that just makes me cuter! I love everyone I meet, and I really love my foster siblings. We love to run around and play and wrestle. I love to have fun! My foster mom says I don’t need a fenced yard but boy, would I like to have one in my forever home! When I’m not playing, I absolutely love snuggling. I get on a lap whenever I can! At night, I sleep snuggled up in bed with my foster parents. It seems like I might have lived in a house before. I sit by the door or ring the potty bells when I need to go out and have only had one accident inside! I also know “sit” and “stay,” and am very food-motivated. When my foster parents are gone, I go into my crate without any problems, but I did gut my bed in there…oops. I am so happy when my mom gets home and I can come out to play! I also like to chew things, like dog toys (cool) and pillows (not cool), so you’ll need to keep those things out of my reach. I am so good in the car too! I just go to sleep. I think I could be happy with a sibling or too, or as the only spoiled beagle. I get a little jealous and grouchy when I’m getting love and one of my siblings interrupts, but I’m working on that. I just love being loved! Contact Midwest BREW if you want to hear more about me! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Hi! My name is Sugar, and foster mom says that I’m as sweet as my name and a real cutie pie, too! I was abandoned at a shelter in the middle of the night when I was pregnant with my pups, and I gave birth all by myself. That was pretty scary, but I had three beautiful puppies, and I was a very good mama to them. Foster mom says it’s my turn to find a home now, so let me tell you a little bit about myself so you can get to know me! Doggy daycare is great – I’m going there for “socialization,” whatever that is! All I know is I get to play with other dogs when I’m there, and it’s great fun! When meeting new dogs, slow introductions are better for me so I have time to get accustomed to my new friends. I am learning to play, run, chase and wrestle with other dogs, but foster mom says I can get a little too rough when I get too excited, so I’ll need you to call a time out so I can calm down. I really like other dogs, but I haven’t had a chance to meet any cats yet. Walks are one of my favorite things, and I prefer to go potty on a leash. I’m not a fan of busy streets and cars zooming by me, though – I prefer a relaxing stroll in a quiet area. I ride in the car like a pro – foster mom tethers me, and I’m a calm and quiet passenger. When it comes to being housetrained, I’m 95% percent of the way there with the use of a doggy door and going for walks. You can crate me if you want to, but foster mom says I can be trusted to have the run of the house. When it’s time for bed, I’d much rather sleep in your bed with you than in a crate – I love being around my people! I know some basic commands and would be happy to learn more if you’d like to teach me. I also like to collect shoes and toys and pile them in my bed for safekeeping, so if you can’t find your favorite pair of sneakers, you’ll know where to look for them! At four years old and under 30 pounds, I’m the perfect age and size for lots of families. If my new family has kids, that’s great! Foster mom thinks I need an active fur sibling in my new home to play with and a nice yard to run around in. If you’re looking to add some sweetness and joy to your life, I’m your gal! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Lucy is a beautiful, young red and black tri-color Beagle. I believe she had a very rough start to her young life and she had a challenging time during her first weeks of adjusting to life as a foster in our home. She was extremely fearful of us but seemed to gain her confidence by following our dogs around. But with time, patience, a thunder shirt and a lot of love she learned to trust people again and started approaching us for attention. She has been around other dogs and people and did very well. She has had some children pet her and she was fine. She’s very curious about our cat but does not bother her. She looks forward to her meals now and eats without being fearful. She exhibited extreme anxiety in a closed crate so we let her choose where she sleeps. Sometimes she will sleep in a crate with the door open but she seems to prefer the dog bed at night and for naps. She caught on to the doggie door quickly and has had very few accidents. Her separation anxiety is much better and we usually leave each dog with a frozen Kong if we have to go away for awhile. She is a quiet pup but likes to join in the welcome home chorus when we come home. She walks fairly well on a leash but her Beagle nose does dictate her navigation. She loves to run in an open field that is fenced with the other dogs. She LOVES toys and empties the toy basket faithfully every single day. She likes to do zoomies in our fenced yard and loves when we play “chase” with her. She can handle short car rides but does get car sick on longer trips. She now has prescription meds for her motion sickness but we have not had the chance to try it yet. She is definitely showing her playful, curious and affectionate personality now. Lucy needs a rescue-experienced adopter who is familiar with anxiety and its signs and symptoms. She will do best in in a home with a fenced yard where alone time is very minimal and another dog would be a big bonus since she loves to cuddle with our senior dog. She is a gentle soul that has just gotten the hang of “being a dog”. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Kooner is a very good boy! He loves to play with other dogs, good with walks and does good with children (I live with 2 toddlers) Kooner has a hug personality. Unfortunately the reason why I need to rehome him is because I am a full-time worker and full-time college student. May days are very very long and he is sitting at home doing nothing, he needs to play and have an active lifestyle, he used to run 5k’s with me, he does good in the car, a great snuggle bug and good protector for your home. I AM LOOKING FOR SERIOUS REQUIRES ONLY. I will not rehome him to a family who will not take care of his needs that he needs. He is a very active dog. Please understand that I’ve never rehome a dog before and I only want the best for him. I don’t like seeing him home 24/7 doing nothing and bored, he deserves more than I can give.

Story
We received a call for help, this person had more then 20 animals on his property, adults and puppies he needed food and to get the girls fixed. A local spay/neuter clinic helped with spay/neuter, rabies and heartworm testing. All the adults were taken back to the owner and he is given dog food to help with feeding them. We were able to take in some of the young pups, had them heartworm tested (which was negative) spay/neutered all vaccines and microchipped. We took the puppies hoping they would be heartworm negative and they are. Since having them here we have had to work with them to learn to trust us, at first they will be a little nervous but give them time and they will fill your heart. They are crate trained, but not house broken. Please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application, we would love to talk with you in detail. Once approved, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Story
Butters is the sweetest dog in the world. Yes from South Park. He’s 11 but acts like a puppy with a big bark. His bday is cinco de mayo 5-5-2012. He’s your stereo typical dog thats obedient and loves to cuddle and eat. Beggar for days. Loves walks and loves to play catch and tug of war. Destroys any toy you give him. Goes crazy for squeaky toys and will hide bones and gets sad when you find it. He’s way more mellow now but can match your energy if you’re up for the challenge. I’m so sad to put him up for adoption but I have two babies now and can’t give him the life he deserves. I drove to sugar creek Ohio to get him from an Amish guy. My jeep got a flat minutes before my destination and no service. Had to stay the night in an Amish motel and snuck him in. Poop everywhere! He’ll never leave your side and my forever Pokémon. He will love you forever and cry with you when you’re sad. He is my dog child. My best friend. I hope he gives you as much joy as he did in my life. 😭 ❤️ 🐶

Story
Meadow is a gentle soul who would love nothing more than a nice bowl of food, a bone to chew on, and some quality time with her family. She is described as being a funny, affectionate, and well mannered pooch. After a nice walk she will be happy to curl up at your feet while watching a movie, and will remind you with a nudge that its time for some pets. She is also food motived and ready to learn new skills! Since she can be easily overwhelmed by commotion, she would do best in a home without any young children. Meadow is looking for a patient, understanding owner who will help her tackle life, at her own pace. Does that sound like it could be you? If so, she's ready to be your next best friend! Meadow is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes, preparing for her forever home. Adopting from foster is easy! Just call or email the Adoptions Desk to set up a meeting (734-662-5585 or adoptions@hshv.org).
