Story
KYRA 2 years LYRA 1 year Attributes Bonded pair Dog friendly Adult-only home Not best for apartments Housetrained Need a fenced yard Kyra and Lyra are a beautiful, young, bonded pair of small girls who are ready to find a loving home together. They came from a breeder situation and are now discovering how wonderful life in a home can be. With each passing day in their foster home, they continue to grow in confidence and show just how special they are. These two are inseparable and share a sweet, devoted bond—they truly do everything together. Kyra, about 2 years old, is the more confident of the pair. Whether it’s heading outside or settling in for bedtime, she helps show Lyra the way. Kyra is curious and gently explores her surroundings, and once she feels comfortable, she enjoys back scratches, belly rubs, treats, and even following her foster family around. She loves cozy spots—whether that’s by your feet, on the couch, or snuggled up with a dog friend. Lyra, around 1½ years old, is a thoughtful and observant girl who still requires encouragement from Kyra and other dogs. While she is reserved, she is clearly interested in connecting and has already made progress—taking treats by hand and choosing to rest near her foster mom. With time and patience, her sweet personality will continue to shine through. Both girls have made good strides since arriving in foster care. They are learning to relax, enjoy a predictable routine, and feel safe in their environment. Because of this, they would do best in a home in a quiet suburban or rural neighborhood – apartment living and the hustle and bustle of city life is not for them! They would prefer an adult-only home, but a quiet home with calm, older children might also be a viable option. Car rides are not on their list of favorite things to do, but hopefully over time they will learn that car rides can lead to fun. They love having cozy spaces to unwind and will happily play, run, and wrestle together when they think no one is watching! Their playful side really comes out with each other and with other friendly dogs. Kyra and Lyra are housetrained with only occasional accidents and do best with regular outdoor access, so a fenced yard will help them continue to succeed. They haven’t yet learned leash walking but are making progress every day in building trust and confidence. These gentle, loving girls are looking for a patient and understanding home that will continue to nurture their growth. In return, they will offer a special bond—not only with each other, but with the lucky family who gives them the chance to fully blossom into the happy, loving companions they are meant to be. NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Hey my name is Kinsley! I am a good dog looking for an owner willing to offer proper training, socialization, and exercise. I am a quick learner, and with the help of some yummy treats, I will make you proud with my excellent manners. I do have A LOT of energy and may be a bit too much for some families! However, a lot of energy also means a lot of LOVE! With time, training, and patience- you can help me be the best dog I can be! I can be selective when it comes to new friends, so I’d like to meet any potential dog siblings before I go home.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi, I’m Tanbo… but my friends call me Snoop! I was adopted as a puppy and sadly found my way back to the rescue due to family circumstances. While that wasn’t the plan, I’m hoping my forever family is still out there waiting for me! I’m a very curious and inquisitive guy—I love to sniff around and investigate everything going on in my world. When I first came back to the rescue, stuffed toys were actually banned for me because I used to immediately shred them. The good news? I’ve improved! I can have them again now… although I’ll admit I still enjoy chewing on them and occasionally pulling some stuffing out. Old habits die hard. When it comes to playmates, I really enjoy dogs that are smaller than me—they’re my kind of crowd! Bigger dogs, though? I’d rather keep my distance. I also tend to chase cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best. I would also do best in a home without younger children, as I prefer a calmer environment where I can relax and feel comfortable. One of my favorite things in the world is treats and cuddling with my humans. If you have a blanket, just know it automatically becomes our blanket. In fact, if you see a lump under a blanket on the couch, you might want to check before sitting down… it could be me! Because I only have 21 teeth left, crunchy treats are a little tough for me to chew. Softer chews are my favorite! And since I’m missing a few teeth, my tongue hangs out about 95% of the time, which just adds to my charm. As a senior gentleman, I do have a couple medical conditions. I have Cushing’s disease and low B12, which means I’ll need medication for the rest of my life. I also take a little medicine for separation anxiety when my humans leave, but if you’re just gone for a few hours, I’ll handle it like a champ. What I’m really looking for is a cozy home, some soft treats, a warm blanket, and humans who love to cuddle as much as I do. If that sounds like you, I think we might be a perfect match.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold, Chester may be your perfect match. This sweet 12-year-old, 27-pound beagle mix is happiest when he's soaking up tummy rubs, ear scratches, and cuddles. While he may be a senior, don't tell him that! He loves a good nap, but he's always ready for a walk, some backyard exploring, or a little playtime. Chester is a gentle soul who can be a bit timid in busy or noisy environments, so he'd thrive in a calm, relaxed home where he can settle in at his own pace. He enjoys the company of other dogs but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, as long as he gets plenty of love and attention. He's working hard on his house manners and is making great progress. Like any dog learning the ropes in a new environment, he'll need a family that's patient, consistent, and willing to laugh along the way—especially if they happen to find him standing on the coffee table! (We're still trying to figure out why he thinks that's a good idea.) Chester has so much love to give and is looking for someone to share his golden years with. Every home could use a Chester—a sweet, gentle friend who will love you with his whole heart. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
